Krauthammer slams Obama for ´illegal
and unconstitutional´ regulatory overreach

Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

Original Article

Posted By:CarrotFarmer87, 12/27/2012 1:44:32 AM

During Wednesday’s broadcast of “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer criticized the Obama administration for something even President Barack Obama has admitted could be an obstacle to economic growth: the expansion of regulation through executive fiat. As the number of regulations from the federal government is continuously expanding, the comment period for regulations has been shortened from 60 days to 45 days, a move that Krauthammer said overwhelms small businesses. “At so many levels, this is a problem,” Krauthammer

Comments:
3,500 new regulations in the last 90 days is a bit onerous.

No wonder the amount of money the country spends is increasing exponentially.

Its a dictatorship.

We need some governors to declare their states to be federal regulation sanctuary states. That is, declare null and void any executive order that does not stem from congress, and vow to protect and defend anyone who is threatened by the federal government for violating these regulations. We need the states to fight against Obama as we cannot do it alone -- our state governments could actually be good for something if they did this for us.

Democrats are well aware that the biggest obstacle to economic growth is Obama himself. But as they are against economic growth themselves ("It´s not fair!") it´s all good to them.

The US Hose has the power to regulate the regulators by shutting off the money. The Senate and Executive branch can stop any lowering of funds, but if the House does not pass another bill to fund the regulators, the money dries up.

The House has all the budgetary power. Too bad we do not have leaders in the House that will use the power they have.

It always comes back to "it´s the fault of the Republicans in the House," doesn´t it? No one expects anything good out of Democrats so the fact that they are backing Obama in every unconstitutional act goes without comment or complaint. Don´t any of you have Democrat representatives or senators you can complain about? And, if you do, why do they keep getting elected?

Apparently we´ve hit the debt ceiling two months earlier "than expected".

Social Security is now running a deficit when it used to lend government money.

Still there´s millions of people wanting a mega gift from Obamaclaus.

I can´t believe how broke this country is yet there´s people on the border waiving illegals in to loot the system on top of our own slackers. The self-destruction of this country is intentional and being masterminded by the elite left and islamic adherents.

I do not ever remember reading an article whereby Krauthammer was "for" Obama. At the beginning when Obama was elected, K only mentioned to give him a chance and we will see. Otherwise, K would have been really racist, wouldn´t he? K is a fair player. He is very smart and many value his opinion. Conservatives who I know try to be fair otherwise we are like the left. Since Obama´s four years now, we know that O is a extreme socialist and dumb as a brick about helping our country, many say it is on purpose.
Irregardless, we have to be like the French underground and strike where ever we can to change the minds of many people who are not leftoids, but simply fooled. And get voter ID by 2016. The Dems won´t bother with much voter fraud in 2014, because it is very expensive and not as much at stake.

Exactly, #8! Also on Special Report, about 5 years ago, Dr. K essentially endorsed Obama. He said Obama had a first-rate temperment and was fairly salivating over him. Sorry, Charles, you, like Peggy and Kathleen, own this presidency.

Agree with #1. We need to get involved at the state (and local) level, I believe that is where we can do the most good. I´m guilty of focusing too much on Washington, expecting relief from the very people who are causing the pain. It is not working, time to stop going around that mountain and get out of the wilderness.

Small business owners are overwhelmed?
Well, yes .... of course! That´s the whole idea. Small business has been Obama´s target from the beginning. Did some people misunderstand?

I´m still waiting to hear the reaction of those Obama supporters who really believed his promise that they would be allowed to keep their cushy medical plans.
.... Of course, it´s true. The part he didn´t explain is that the government intends to make certain that their current medical insurance becomes unaffordable, thus forcing such insurance plans into government ownership.
Ooooops.

While it´s true that budgets come from the House, they also operate on sort of a continuing basis. The House can fund new things or cut things off only if the Senate and the House put together a bill that does that and it gets signed by the President (or his veto is over-ridden.)

Look at the current situation: The House sent up three budgets in the last two years but the Senate hasn´t passed a budget in 3 and things are still operating.

One other thing: when you dump (and I mean dump) 4 trillion dollars into the hopper and still have the worst economy in 75 years... that money is going somewhere.

Jack Burton says that it´s going for regulations. Otherwise things would be getting better.

17 and 10, K never officially "endorsed" Obama but he clearly was under the spell, calling him "elegant" time and again, and oohing and ahhing over his intellect and temperment time and again, while pretending Sarah Palin had a room temperature IQ. Krauthammer was just this side of David Brooks and the pant crease. Not quite that bad, but almost. Don´t be fooled.

As long as the House Republicans go along with these continuing resolutions then all these agencies will have enough funding to do whatever. These resolutions need to be stopped and force the Democrats in the Senate to approve a budget then cut the budgets of all regulatory agencies. The use of baseline budgeting also needs to stop. A slight decrease in the amount of increase in a budget is not a cut in spending!!!!!

His response, "Gee I never thought of that." I have even traveled to Washingtion to speak to other bueracrats. Most are quite ingorant about the world they are writing regulations for. I did find a few helful ones.

We know you by how you react to Palin, Dr K and others. Stands to reason that Dr K would drool over the elegant Obama and diss the authentic Palin. Like Tebow we know the hearts of those who mount personal attacks against them. Do I want Palin for President. I don´t know. Is Tebow the greatest quarterback ever. No. But, attacks against them show us all we need to know. Who hates Christians? Democrats, liberals, Socialists, Muslims, atheists, etc. And, policy is not how the attacks by Dr K and posters go..it is always personal. Always. Always. Always. So posters own it. You are as much a part of the enablers of Obama as is any free phone voter.

Re: #24 - I read the article and found nothing anti-Christian in it, nor do I see a justification for attacking posters who generally support positions as described by Krauthammer. Krauthammer´s writings display a consistent, but not perfect, conservative core - as do Will´s and Sowell´s. I differ with K on specific opinions but find him to be anything but an Obama enabler.

Correct, Safari Man. If the house won´t cut funding it´s up to the governors who would legally be within their rights to refuse fiat, and only recognize properly constituted regulations.

It´ll eventually hit the Supremes, so we better begin the challenge now, before the court moves further left.

#1, Excellent idea. Lets start getting our local reps, senators and gov´s attention in each state.

#21 has the right of it. Without the spineless libtards in the house going along with the continuing resolutions, and shaking in their boots that the libtard propaganda arm will say bad things about them (well, a little more than usual) the funds would dry up.

#27 - as the founder said, the SCOTUS isn´t the final arbiter of the constitution, but the people are. More people need to wake up to that idea.

I think I´ll stop jumping on Dr. K and comment on the thrust of the article.

Since a majority of these rules and regulations do not come from laws passed by congress but from executive orders issued by Obozo, I would like for someone, anyone, show me just where in the U.S. Constitution where it gives the president or anyone else the power to issue an executive order that has the power of law. I thought that the Congress was the only body that can pass a law. Maybe I´m living in the wrong century.

#24 The only one making a personal attack is you.
Dr K criticized Obama and only Obama in the piece .
The litmus test on fealty to FOX pundit Palin
is ridiculous and sounds just like the left demanding the same towards Obama.
Now that Obama controls the presidency , the Senate , the media and will eventually completely control
the Supreme Court
the shrinking majority of House Republicans
from Jan 2013 to Jan 2015 will have less and less power
and influence.
Obama can obviously act like a dictator and get away with it.
If the Democrats gain 17 seats in Nov 2014 ,
the power goes back to them and Obama´s
last two years will be unimaginable.
The red states may be the only hope for some sanity.

I do not care if anyone likes Palin or not. I do see personal attacks on her as a sign of a person´s heart and mind. A pattern that shows up is the same people who bash Palin and defend Dr K often shows up in other ways. What do I care what someone thinks. But I sure am welcome to my own opinion. Comparing me to litmus tests leftwingers administer to others is ridiculous. I am stating how I believe and feel and judge the opinions of others. If you are saying I am trying to suppress people who disagree I larf and larf and larf. Silly and too too sensitive. Get over it. I can still give my impressions. Is me having an opinion in some way suppressing you? If so you are pretty easy to suppress and might even be one who likes to be a victim.

The Snake in the whitehouse has been getting away with this stuff all his life..as well as the politicians that serve him (and NOT the people!). And the worst of this is that the majority (?) of Americans still look upon this "great man", who has sacrificed a day or so of his 4 million dollar (on our dime) Hawaiian vacation to come back to settle without offering anything at all. And I am also sure that when he renames the Bush tax cuts the OBAMA tax cuts they will sigh with delight---Obama is as much a cult of personality as Cesar Chavez, with as many irreparable results. I feel terrible for those of us who will suffer, lose jobs, have inadequate insurance and all the rest, but have a general contempt for those who voted this man back in---especially my well educated Democratic friends. I really hope they suffer alone with the rest of us. But most of all, I hope they finally recognize what they have elected!

Brit Hume said Tuesday that California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s call for a fix to Obamacare is a sign of just how bad things have gotten for President Barack Obama and his administration. On Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File,” network senior political analyst Hume explained to host Megyn Kelly that Feinstein’s shift, after a million Californians lost their health coverage, indicates the worst is yet to come. Many more Americans are expected to have their health insurance policies canceled. “This is as bad a political disaster as I have ever seen,” Hume said.

On Monday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, network senior political analyst Brit Hume speculated that President Barack Obama may not have been concerned about the rollout of his signature health care legislation, which has been fraught with problems. Hume noted all the problems with the law, which includes requirements for insurance coverage that the consumer couldn’t need and some of the failed promises made by Obama himself. “On ‘The Kelly File’ here on Fox News the other night, Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Rahm and one of the designers of the Affordable Care Act

On Saturday’s broadcast of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” Kate McKinnon played Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the show’s cold open and took on this month’s Obamacare rollout, which has been plagued by website troubles since its launch. “Hi, I’m Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of health under President Obama. Now, a lot of folks have been talking about our new health care enrollment website — how it’s been crashing and freezing and shutting down and stalling and not working and breaking and sucking,” McKinnon’s Sebelius said.

On Tuesday, Mediaite White House correspondent Tommy Christopher added another chapter to his ongoing self-promotional crusade masquerading as a career in journalism. And this time, it didn’t involve a shameless ploy to be an invited guest on whatever incarnation of Chris Hayes’ show MSNBC is currently airing. During Tuesday’s White House briefing on Tuesday, Christopher, whose name isn’t really “Tommy Christopher,” asked a question about President Barack Obama’s health-care reform law that incorporated his personal experiences with health insurance after his 2010 heart attack. “First of all, I don’t if you’re aware of this, but when I

Conservatives commentators Charles Krauthammer and Mark Levin traded barbs over Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s defund Obamacare tactics after Cruz’s 21-hour speech on the Senate floor. On Wednesday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to criticism from conservative radio host Mark Levin, who had taken to his radio show on Tuesday night to remind his listeners that Krauthammer once worked a speechwriter for the 1984 Democratic presidential nominee, former Vice President Walter Mondale. Krauthammer author of “Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes, and Politics,” mocked the notion his position

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter suggested Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin orchestrated the chemical weapons attacks in Syria to “make Obama look like a monkey.” Coulter, author of the forthcoming book “Never Trust a Liberal over 3 — Especially a Republican,” told Fox News host Sean Hannity that it’s “not looking good for Obama.” "[T]hese Democrats think being president is a Hollywood movie,” she said. “If they just come out and say it is in America’s national security interest, Americans will all swoon like they do in ‘The West Wing’ when Aaron Sorkin is writing it.”

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said Sunday that he will base his decision on whether to run for president in 2016 on whether he thinks he can mount a campaign that would transcend the modern-day mechanics of such a run. Bush, the second-oldest son of former president George H. W. Bush and younger brother of George W. Bush, spoke at an event marking the 25th anniversary of his father´s presidency at the library and museum that bears the patriarch´s name. The event was closed to reporters, but moderated by Fox News anchor Shannon Bream and portions of the event were later

Kathryn Riffenburg decided on a closed casket for her baby´s funeral. She didn´t want her family to see what whooping cough, her son´s first illness, had done to 9-week-old Brady Alcaide. The nearly forgotten disease, which has in recent years afflicted thousands of Americans, left Brady´s tiny body swollen and unrecognizable. So his mother dressed him in a white baptismal suit and hat and tucked him into a tiny white casket. Brady´s burial came just four weeks after his first laugh — inspired by her version of I´m a Little Teapot — and two weeks after his family learned that he had

Rev. Al Shaprton, the controversial civil rights leader-turned-broadcaster, was a confidential FBi informant for years and helped the feds put members of the Genovese and Gambino organized crime families behind bars, it was revealed Monday in a sensational exposé. President Barack Obama will speak this week for the second time at the annual meeting of Sharpton´s National Action Network, raising questions about the group´s special treatment. Sharpton´s special relationship with the Justice Department may also explain why his NAN has been allowed to skirt responsibility for $1.9 million in back taxes and penalties it has owed the IRS since 2006

Attorney General Eric Holder exploded at Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert during a House hearing Tuesday. In the midst of questions about the Justice Department’s failure to divulge documents about the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, Gohmert made a side comment about how the House of Representatives found Holder in contempt in 2012 for refusing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. “I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight,” Gohmert said. “You don’t want to go there, buddy! When friends and family members gathered recently at the White House for a private celebration of Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday, one of the invited partygoers was a former paid FBI Mafia informant. That same man attended February’s state dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande. He was seated with his girlfriend at a table adjacent to President Barack Obama, who is likely unaware that, according to federal agents, his guest once interacted with members of four of New York City’s five organized crime families. He even secretly taped some of those wiseguys using a briefcase that FBI technicians outfitted

Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing

LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

A married freshman Republican congressman who campaigned on his Christian, conservative values apologized Monday after surveillance video surfaced purportedly showing him in a lengthy liplock with a staffer. In the Dec. 23 footage, obtained by a local newspaper, Rep. Vance McAllister, R-La. - who ahead of his election last fall ran multiple campaign ads trumpeting his faith and family - is seen kissing and embracing a woman for about 20 seconds at his Monroe, La., district office. The Ouachita Citizen reports the woman is the congressman´s 33-year-old part-time scheduler, who is also married.

A few weeks ago, the liberal comedian Bill Maher and conservative strategist and pundit Bill Kristol had a brief spat on Maher’s HBO show, putatively over what instigated the tea party but ultimately over the psychic wound that has divided red America and blue America in the Obama years. The rise of the tea party, explained Maher in a let’s-get-real moment, closing his eyes for a second the way one does when saying something everybody knows but nobody wants to say, “was about a black president.” Both Maher and Kristol carry themselves with a weary cynicism that allows them to

Call it the million-worker mystery. A large chunk of American adults are no longer in the labor force. That has left economists divided over how many of them are voluntarily not working-or even looking for work-because they wanted to retire, go to school or take care of family members, versus how many have been forced out because they couldn´t find a job. (snip) Shierholz estimates that there are currently more than 5 million missing workers who are not included in the unemployment rate because they are neither working nor looking for work, but who might be if the job market

The Democratic National Committee is furious by a conservative website’s ad campaign that depicts Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi clad in a bikini in a provocative pose with her tongue sticking out. Add Bryan Cranston, the star of TV´s recent hit "Breaking Bad" and a new Broadway play about former President Lyndon B. Johnson, to Team Obamacare. In an interview with Yahoo News “global anchor” Katie Couric, the actor called Obamacare the highlight of President Obama´s legacy. “Now’s the time to stake a claim to leave your legacy,” he encouraged Obama. “I personally believe that his health care program is fantastic. Yes, there are problems. Anything worth while is going to go through a growing pains period. But this is his legacy and I think it’s a great one because I don’t
