The quality of goods has fallen off the charts.

I went through an entire upscale mall looking for quality instead of ´fashion´ (read: cheap tat at any price) and felt like I was in search of a virgin in a cathouse.

I don´t remember there being "the deepest recession" in 2008, because 0bama & the dRATS prior to the election were trying to find one. It wasn´t until he was in office, spent our TARP money that there was suddenly this "minor recession." But of course, it began with President Bush. The Associated Press can´t bring themselves to blame our current pResiident. It had to be global warming.

I hate our MSM as much or more than Obama. Sorry to say that on today of all days but why should this country be in decline? Because the MSM and Obama has willed it to be so.

After watching the nation that I have spent 50+ years loving die on November 6th, I just wasn´t in too much of a mood to do much shopping this year. I´m funny like that.

I did buy myself a nice new pistol and lots of ammo. So I helped a little, I guess...

When you have nothing to celebrate but four more years of Revengeful Idiots ruling over the destruction of your country, you tend to depress retail growth a wee bit.

Agree, #2. Most of the merchandise was ugly, tawdry and cheap-looking. Most of it was made in China, Vietnam, or Egypt.

I wouldn´t wear it, and I´d be ashamed to give most of it to others as gifts.

Retailers were gearing up for Romney win...when that didn´t happen they knew they were doomed.

In September and October the businesses I dealt with were excited. Many were preparing new marketing campaign´s and re-branding in anticipation of big Christmas season...As soon as Obama won the CFO´s pulled the plugs, and the consumer´s scaled way back on their buying plans.

"Don´t part with cash" is back for AT LEAST two more years if we don´t take BOTH houses of Congress in 2014.

Perhaps not a lot left over for shopping from the gooberment handouts for unemployment and newly found disabled?

Our house didn´t spend much for Christmas because there are no kids and we really didn´t need anything. DH did get me a Christmas nightlight from Dillard´s which I am returning this morning because when I plugged it in and turned it on, the flicker bulb immediately went out. Also the plug didn´t have that third ´leg´ and it was very wobbly in the outlet. Made in China, of course.

We have some ornaments made in Poland which last year were $29 to purchase (but we got at clearance). This year, the Polish ornaments were $59.

We spent our Christmas gift money on a new leather recliner. Within 15 minutes of the delivery truck´s leaving, the handle on the chair fell off. Made in China.

In other news, those who sell guns and ammo( bless their hearts) have seen the equivalent of three year´s sales in the past week or so. It´s about time people started buying sensible gifts. When that treadmill becomes a sweater dryer in a few months, you´ll still experience enhanced peace of mind.
