A newspaper in New York has received a wave of criticism from its readers after publishing the names and addresses of all of the individuals with handgun or pistol permits in its coverage area. Hundreds of residents in New York’s Westchester and Rockland counties were surprised to find their names and addresses listed on a map posted by The Journal News on Sunday. Users can click any dot on the map to see which of their neighbors has a permit for a gun. The map sparked more than 500 comments from readers

Another way to look at it is, the criminals can see where the gun holders are, & go someplace else to rob, or whatever makes them happy.....!!

The newspaper, of course, simply wanted to ´shame´ the gun owners somehow. Actually, they did the equivilant of putting up an alarm warning sign for the armed homeowners.

Maybe the unarmed homeowners should sue the paper for advertising their helplessness.

For anyone wanted to know what the fuss was about gun registration here you go. Now they know where they live now you can be targeted. Police State here we come. The left thinks the Presidential Election was for Permanent Dictator. This Media is part of the Police state. Who will be targeted next?

Return the favor: publish all the details about every leftard of note. Their security detail info, their kids schools/madrassas and their security details, who they are cheating with and their security details etc. etc... How dependent they are on men with guns.

Then ask them at every opportunity why their lives are more valuable than ordinary folks.

Janet Hasson, 3 Gate House Lane, Mamaroneck, NY 10534.

Phone number: (248) 594-2197; you might also try (914) 525-1923, but the area code is just a guess on the assumption that this number is a land line.

Dittos to those pointing out this newspaper has just made the case against registering the owners &/or concealed carriers of firearms. More people will buy through private sales & not bother to get their concealed carry permits when they learn about this. That doesn´t mean fewer people will be armed, however.

Aren´t ACLU lawyers more dangerous to the public? They are the ones responsible for mental cases living next door to you. The sheeple bleating in the article claims he deserves to know if his neighbor is armed, because that knowledge ´might´ have changed his decision to buy his home. Well tool, your neighbor carrying a NY state permit has been investigated for months and passed the kind of vetting that you would have a hard time passing. You really need to focus on the other neighbor who is taking massive doses of mood elevators to maintain ´normal´ daily functions.

All gun free households should file a class action suit against the newspaper and the publisher. As dangerous as it is to the privacy of gun owners, it is a map to all criminals in finding gun free, easy access homes. That doesn´t matter when it comes to promoting the self righteousness of liberals. My guess is Janet Hansen is loving the attention.

Is this captioned "Robbery Zone"?

How malicious can they be to set these people up for those wanting/willing to invade their property, steal what they have so that they can, in fact, carry on the mission of our current President.

Nothing surprises me anymore!

Is this the country I once knew? No!

America has stooped to the lowest denominator.

President Obama owns this reality.

Remember the kindness/thoughtfulness of President George W. Bush, who, when he did cry, he meant it, for he had/has a heart for his fellowman. He has a heart after God and is not afraid to honor Him.

Obama has risen to power by the progressive movement/unions/liberal media, who endeavor to deny the average citizen their rights, usurping God even, if they can. They are a godless group who has established their own person to "assume" he is above the rest of US.

God´s sovereignty will eventually destroy what is going on, but sadly, we might be involved for not having come against evil when it was presented!

There are none so blind as those who will not see! Food for thought!

Pray for America! God is waiting for your call!

All have said that armed homes are safe from intruders. Think of the delight of thieves looking for guns, who now have the locations of their prey. Sure there´s danger, but with a little surveillance they can choose homes with weapons which are ripe for the picking.

To transfer a gun requires completing a form with a FFL (federal firearm license) who is obliged to keep it in perpetuity. As I recall, the form was confidential. I am more disturbed that the feds would share that info with the newspaper. As an earlier poster explains, this is a good reason to avoid registration.

The liberals do this to make gun owners social pariahs. You can bet the Brady Campaign, VPC, and other Soros allied groups will follow up by contacting the employers of the people named to try to get them fired from their jobs.

They tried to do this in Illinois by having leftist papers sue the Illinois State Police to shake loose the database of FOID card holders so they could publish it. Our Attorney General not only refused to fight the papers, she joined them and demanded the State Police hand it over. Fortunately, the State Police resisted until pro-2nd amendment groups got a injunction to block release until a law could be sent through the Legislature banning it permanently.

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Get ready for the last straw. First, though, I´d like to suggest that anyone reading this column in a local newspaper or news site pat the editor on the back for publishing what in our neo-medieval world of fear amounts to a forbidden column. Yup, I am about to say something about the Great Barack Obama Identity/Eligibility Scandal again. On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her.
