He cited the measure that passed Thursday, which would reorganize the automatic spending cuts to protect the defense budget and cut deeper elsewhere. This is another useless article. The House has all the power. There is no need to negotiate with obama. Pass the bill that makes the tax cuts permanent, refuse to renew the SS tax cuts, cut spending, and tie the White House budget to this bill. Michelle will make sure it passes and is signed into law, just as soon as she realizes her vacations are over, without the signature.
Use the power the House already has.

The House has all the power! That is delusional. The House could pass legislation 24 hours a day and it would die in the Senate or be vetoed by the President. In point of fact, the House has already passed legislation that the Senate won´t even consider. No matter how you try, you can´t make this debacle the fault of the House. Obama voters will think it is, but that does not make it so.

I thought the original intent of our founders was that the potus did NOT have his hands on our purse strings and was thus constrained. With a gutless congress, our potus can now pass laws, make war and levy taxes with no assistance or opposition.

The thesis of this article is Boehner can win by going even more squishy to get democrat support. He looses more than he gains with that advice.
As others have pointed out the house has the purse strings. This is the very power needed to bring Obama to his knees. His power grows out of spending. Curb it. Obama has already signalled his fear of this in his speach when he said he will "not play that game any more" - referring to negotiating increases in the debt limit. He is obviously thinking of some sort of executive order to usurp for himself the power of the purse from the house. When that happens the house must fight him every inch of the way. It is in the constitution - so defend it. This is ballgame! If you don´t care about the constitution then save the country.

A couple of months ago, François Hollande was presented with a baby camel by local authorities in Timbuktu in appreciation for France’s military action against Islamist militants in Mali. The animal did not come quietly. Hollande had initially hoped to have the camel vaccinated and transported to a Parisian zoo, but decided it would be easiest for the French and best for the beast if it were entrusted to a local Timbuktu family who had suffered damage to their property from French tanks. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office.
