Fort Worth gun show crowd is
likened to ´Black Friday shoppers´

Star-Telegram [Ft. Worth, TX], by Susan McFarland

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 12/22/2012 11:44:22 PM

Fort Worth - A long line of firearm buyers pushed their way into the Lone Star Gun Show when it opened at 9 a.m. Saturday for a two-day run, prompting comparisons to eager "Black Friday shoppers." Vendors and customers alike said the crowds were motivated by fears that the White House will work to restrict assault weapons and curb gun show sales after a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Demand was so high that prices soared, dealers and shoppers said. Rod Balderman, who drove more than 250 miles

Comments:
A woman in Texas will know her man is packing the goods on a night out.

It´s too bad that prices soared because of the current negative gun climate schilling by the 0bamaNation.

The greed comes out in times like these. Shame on the hustlers.

I´ve been reading where gun sales across the country are skyrocketing. Even the NRA is getting 8,000 new members a day (according to the article).

"We The People" are not going to put up with the Gestapo acts of the President nor the mindless ramblings of Liberal child killers (hey no gun for defense the more children can be slaughtered).

Oh and if you liberals are so self righteous talk to us about closing abortion clinics where thousands of children are slaughtered under the squeamish politically correct name of "choice". Isn´t "Gun Free Zone" a freedom of choice for killers?

All you have to do to get the Obama administration´s support for armed security guards in every school is to simply say, "Unionized armed security guards in every school." Then Obama will be all for it.

Friends, we don´t need Obama´s permission to put armed security guards in our schools. It´s not a federal issue.

The left is afraid that after things settle down, the suggestion of security guards will become more popular and kill their chances at a broad based gun grab. You better believe Obama´s getting all kinds of pressure from gun grabbing nut groups to do something through his office and going around congress.

Obama claims on all issues that "we´re in this together" but at the same time he´ll take unilateral action in a heartbeat to please his sub groups.

#10 - You know it would be the same as Tea Party gatherings vs. Occupy messes.

I live, as a permanent volunteer park host, at a County shooting complex. Interestingly, financing for this park was pushed through legislation by Harry Reid before (I think) he became Majority Leader. The NRA has endorsed him in the past, and he got a big fat photo op out of it when the park opened. Keep this in mind if legislation ever winds its way to Harry´s Senate.

Back to the park, it has been very busy out here. We don´t sell anything but .22 ammunition, in limited quantities, to shooters who just run out of their own, or new shooters just learning. Permit classes are heavily attended - mostly the women´s classes - and even archery is booming. Please consider archery equipment and training as part of your toolbox..... never know when everything else will come to a stop.

And let´s not forget the meaning and intent of the Second Amendment - as a means for the citizenry to protect itself from a government that becomes tyrannical.

From Dictionary.com:
tyr·an·ny
[tir-uh-nee]
noun, plural tyr·an·nies.
1. arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority.
2. the government or rule of a tyrant or absolute ruler.
3. a state ruled by a tyrant or absolute ruler.
4. oppressive or unjustly severe government on the part of any ruler.
5. undue severity or harshness.

Without the Second Amendment in place and strongly held, the rest of the Constitution and Bill of Rights becomes fragile enough to break apart completely.

An interesting thing happened yesterday. My wife was watching a TV program showing the homes of celebrities. In one home, it was noted that despite 40 foot high walls, an intruder
had broken in, and was shot by the celebrity´s bodyguard. And this is one of the very same celebrities ( of the many ) that are screaming for gun control. Its often that way, what THEY can have is not fit for "lesser" folks.

Washington - A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. In its ruling, the court rejected state and industry challenges to rules designed to clean up mercury, lead, arsenic and other dangerous air pollutants. The new regulations were designed to remove toxins from the air that contribute to respiratory illnesses, birth defects and developmental problems in children. Some industry groups have criticized the standards, saying the EPA was overstating the benefits. Industry groups argued it would cost billions of

You don´t have to go to the Griffith Observatory or other prime watching spot to view the first total lunar eclipse of 2014. Numerous "blood moon" video streams are available on the Web. The Griffith Observatory will be streaming the event live from the Zeiss dome beginning at 9:45 p.m. The Slooh Observatory in the Canary Islands will also be doing a live stream. NASA is also planning a live stream, with experts taking questions from viewers. For those who want to take in the event in person, Griffith Observatory decided to open its doors Monday (it´s usually closed). "We are expecting large crowds," the observatory said in a statement.

Even as the cost of prescription drugs has plummeted for many Americans, a small slice of the population is being asked to shoulder more and more of the cost of expensive treatments for diseases like cancer and hepatitis C, according to a report to be released on Tuesday by a major drug research firm. The findings echo the conclusions of two other reports released last week by major pharmacy benefit managers, which predicted that spending on so-called specialty drugs would continue to rise. The report, by the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics, also found that consumers’ use of health care — visits to the doctor,

One dumb teenager is easily excused — but the host of Twitter users currently tweeting bomb threats at major airlines is another story entirely. In case you’ve somehow missed this latest round of Internet idiocy, here’s what went down: Sunday night, a Dutch teenager identified only as “Sarah” infamously tweeted a threat at American Airlines. Guantanamo Bay Navy Base, Cuba - A military judge abruptly recessed the first 9/11 trial hearing of the year Monday after defense lawyers accused the FBI in open court of trying to turn a defense team security officer into a secret informant. If true, the lawyers argued, attorney-client confidentiality might be compromised in the case that seeks to put on trial and execute five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11 attacks that killed 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. At issue, in part, was the publication in January of prison camp musings by the alleged 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed,

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
