| Syria has consolidated its chemical weapons into one of two locations from its usual places scattered across the country, Russia´s foreign minister said Saturday. The move comes as unrest in the country extends to nearly two years, with rebels making gains recently. "As of right now... the [Syrian] government is doing all it can to safeguard those weapons," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, according to Russia´s RIA Novosti news agency. Chemicals that were trucked out of Iraq before investigators got to Iraq. Nearly every senator said Iraq had them and thought the U.S. should invade and then after we did, said we shouldn´t have and blamed Bush.
I have a list that I copied off the internet of all the senators that said we should go in because they did have chemical weapons.

Iran and Hezbollah, its Lebanese proxy, are building a network of militias inside Syria to preserve and protect their interests in the event that President Bashar al-Assad’s government falls or is forced to retreat from Damascus, according to U.S. and Middle Eastern officials. The militias are fighting alongside Syrian government forces to keep Assad in power. But officials believe Iran’s long-term goal is to have reliable operatives in place in the event that Syria fractures into separate ethnic and sectarian enclaves. A senior Obama administration official cited Iranian claims that Tehran was backing as many as 50,000 militiamen in Syria.

(Jerusalem) - A research center that Syria said had been hit by an Israeli air strike last week appears to have remained unscathed in the attack, according to satellite images broadcast by Israeli television on Wednesday. Diplomats, Syrian rebels and security sources said Israeli jets had bombed a convoy near the Lebanese border last week, apparently hitting weapons destined for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which fought a 34-day war with Israel in 2006.
