Boehner is reminding me of Trent Lott. Remember the great compromise in the Senate when there was a tie between GOP and Dems? The GOP had the V.P., tie-breaking chair, yet Trent Lott "Magnanimously" tells the Dems that all committee chairmanships will be shared by a Dem and Rep with equal power. Yeah, right. Then along comes a RINO senator who switched parties and suddenly the GOP was in the minority. Same magnanimous offer made by the Dems? Yeah, right.

We see coaches fired, generals relieved and politicians voted out not necessarily because they were bad but because they weren’t good enough for the task at hand.

John Boehner simply isn’t good enough to counter Obama and Reid. Time to go John!

Wonderful. We need a strong leader who can CHANGE the embarrassing management style of GOP House leadership. Change that gets results. I pray Ryan has it in him to be bold and ignore the ineffective RINOs. They had their turn.

#2, I do remember that. Lott also refused to let the Bill Clinton impeachment trial take place in the Senate. That´s why the perfidious Lott has been on my s- list ever since.

The operative word is articulation. Who can speak past the media and connect directly to the American people? Who can educate conservatism on an E-News/ MTV level? Boenhner had the focus of the country today and blew an opportunity to educate. He said nothing.

There are alot of rising stars out there but who is the complete package?

Boehner is useless. I´d give Paul Ryan a go...I really liked what I saw during the campaign (before the consultants hushed him up). Good analogy, #2.

It´s an impossible task. Even a wounded speaker wields great power. Laura Ingraham isn´t exactly a fountain of knowledge.

If Ryan had been the leader, he could explain that taxing millionaires 100% doesn´t fix anything. It´s the spending budget, stupid!

Ryan would be a good choice. There was a clip of him and Obama discussing the budget. Ryan was knowledgable and destroyed him. We need a strong speaker who won´t be fooled.

There´s no question that there´s rumblings in the House abut throwing Boehner overboard but I´m not a big fan of Ryan taking his place.While economics and budget matters are important,I´d rather see an across the board conservative who can explain it all.

It´s all wishful thinking anyway,Boehner´s not going anywhere because the lobbyists,including Trent Lott love him and will use bullying tactics to stop an overthrow.

Of course, he will come out and say he is not interested. Nothing will happen, Boehner will remain at the trough with the rest of the herd, and the GOP will slowly fade into oblivion. It didn´t have to be this way but somewhere along the line the GOP allowed themselves to be castrated.

#2 and #9 got it right. How about a look at Trey Gowdy too. He pulled no punches during the "Fast and Furious" hearings.

This position does not require anyone from congress....it could be an outsider. I like Paul Ryan but I think someone like Newt Gringrich as speaker and Allen West as Majority Leader and Herman Cain as Majority Whip. This would be the match from hell against the dems.

Paul Ryan is a financial wizard, and can explain things in a way even the low information voters can understand. I am sure Ryan has the ability to tie the democrats in knots, a GREAT choice.

Is there any way to resurrect George Patton? We need someone who isn´t afraid of what the Washington media thinks and will do the right thing--engage these libtards in battle!

President Reagan knew he could count on "silent majority" of the popular opinion of the adults at the time who had seen the horrors of the Great Depression and WW II to drawn on for wisdom.

That demographic no longer exists. The "low information" voters don´t know enough of how all this works, and Ryan could fit the bill if he could only get an audience.

He would get that audience engaging the entrenched people there now, because the media loves controversy. The problem as Rush says, is that these people are really "high information" when it comes to pop culture and their focus on the meaningless.

Ryan would be my choice. Here we have a man who is on tape standing up to Obama face to face. The closest any other GOP member came to that was Joe Wilson yelling "you lie" (quite correctly) and apologizing for it right away. Ryan proved himself by holding his ground in the budget talks and by the sacrifices he made in his decision to actually run against Obama. That´s a lot more than the usual symbolism shown by our ´leaders´.Ryan believes what he says and says what he believes. I thought he was spectacular on the stump and agree with the other poster that the Karl Rove/Bill Kristol wannabes in the campaign did everything they could to put a stop to that.

Boehner should step down. He failed. He set up failure a year ago by agreeing to the fiscal cliff parameters. Ryan or someone tough and conservative, a true believer and articulator of principles, is needed.

I like Ryan but you all do know he was planning to vote for "plan B"? Not exactly in a strong position to formulate a coalition.

I too like Gowdy. Paul Ryan completely lost me when he posed for Time(!) with those awful work-out clothes, backward hat, weights in hand, and that idiotic, goofy face! What a girly-man!

Our bench isn´t very deep is it. We do need a strong fiscal guy. The great power of the House is its control over the purse. It has no need to ´compromise´ with insane fiscal policies. We need someone who can control taxes and spending and the guts to do so. I don´t see that person in the House ranks. But there are lots who fit the bill outside the House. Heck I think even The Donald could do it - although I am not suggesting him - it´s just that there are a number of heavy weight CEO types who could straighten out the economy - which, let´s face it - is the role of the House, and in two years they have simply dropped the ball. Boehner needs to go. We don´t need someone who can deal with BHO we need someone who can deal with making the House function using it´s majority.

Paul Ryan couldn´t best Joe Biden in a debate. How on earth would he be an improvement over Boehner? I´d rather they dump Mitch McConnell. Boehner and Cantor are the only two Republicans who were victorious in the 2012 election. And now we dump him? Because some radio host says so? Hello, Whigs!

To answer # 37´s question -- the "pubbies"´ state election was rampant with voter fraud because it was a swing state. For starters, there were reports that busloads of Somalis were brought to polls and were unable to read the ballots.

The election was rigged in swing states. Voter turnout was higher or equal to voter registration in too many precincts. Romney received NO voters in too many precincts.

Ryan would be better than Boehner, just as Palin was far better than McCain.
