With no deal, Obama heads to Hawaii

| With financial negotiations all but halted, President Obama was headed out of Washington on Friday evening for his annual winter vacation in Hawaii. Obama is likely to have a short trip this year; aides said he is scheduled to return Wednesday, a day after Christmas, to resume discussions with congressional leaders on how to avert the fiscal cliff. “Merry Christmas – because we didn’t get this done, I’ll see you next week,” Obama said after telling reporters he still had hope of striking a deal to prevent taxes from rising on the middle class next year.
|
Comments: So, while we taxpayers/business people are in a total quandry about tax planning, Obama and all the other idiots in Washington head home for the holidays. The market only dropped 121 points today, more sure to follow. It only costs a few million for Obama to jet off to Hawaii today, returning Wednesday, and I´m sure going back to Hawaii a few days later. Hey, it´s all free! It´s great to be King.

Notice the article states, `Obama and his family are scheduled to rent a resort on Kailua, on the island of Oahu, as they have done each year of his presidency`. This sentence was written to imply the Obama`s are actually paying for their own vacation. Aaaaahahaha

Most Presidents go home for vacation. Obama owns a house in Chicago. Has he actually ever gone there? Has he ever even set foot in that house?

Too good for Camp David. These folks look out for number one like real capitalists, but they´re nonprofit tycoons. In a way this is getting very enjoyable. King Barry has to fly back from Hawaii on Wednesday? Ooh he´s gonna be mad. I think we should go over the cliff just to spite him, and gun control is a silly loser. Get the popcorn out.

She has a nasty habit of demanding and GETTING her own airplane again on our dime even though she and ´hubby´ are going to the same place... Just how often have these gay-blades taken vacations in Hawaii as private citizens without the trappings/money of the white-house?
Don´t they have a house in Chicago they could go to? Or is that off bounds for some reason? You would think they would go ´´home´´ for Christmas like most people ....unless they don´t ´´do´´Christmas. Where´s their family? I´m sure Militant Michelle has some kind of family she might want to see...or maybe they don´t want to see her....or maybe they are ALL being flown to the Island at our expense...kind of like that India trip, eh? When Clinton would get away with murder, I´d say, "can you imagine a Republican President getting away with this?" But now? I mean, not even Clinton could get away with this. All the rules were changed for Obama. For him, or maybe I should write, for Him, there are no rules.

Given the daily murder count in zippy´s old ´community´, I´m betting that the SS won´t let him go to his own house in Chi-town, not that he´d want too anyway. Hawaii is so much more pleasant and elitist.
At least the maintanence people at the WH will maybe get to enjoy those 54 Christmas trees. Bet there isn´t one in the mansion we´re renting in Hawaii, but there are probably plenty of prayer rugs.

If one of us was gifted with a four million buck Christmas we´d have to report it and pay taxes on it. Same with entertainment, ladies and lords and ladies in waiting, private schooling, etc. maybe it is time to re evaluate how our president lives. America was founded to eliminate the corrupt royals of Europe, but politicians have created one of their own right under our noses.

Of course. Zero´s forte is to do his usual nothing in a timely manner, so that a "crisis" forms because of some real or contrived deadline, then he offers nothing, while waiting for his opponent to come up with a plan to demonize. And guess who comes along to try to kick the football every time. Then the Pubbies come up with some God-awful last minute compromise, and America loses again. Lather rinse repeat.
Zero got exactly what he wanted so far. No deal, and the media trashing the party that actually addresses the issues involved. He also got the trip he wanted, going to Hawaii without the Mooch, and returning without her, similar to all their vacations. Now he gets to return to the media fabrication that he is giving up his vacation to lead this nation in a time of crisis, and he will whine it to the hilt. Until he gets back, Boehner should bring an empty chair to every press conference, and periodically look at it and ask for Zero´s opinion.

# 3 Obama promised during the campaign of 2008 that he would go back to his Rezko home in Chicago every 6 weeks . This was to give the illusion that he was a regular guy. During the first two years, they went back more often than they do now. Memorial Day 2010 , Barry did not go to Arlington National Cemetery for the traditional wreath laying ceremony. Instead , he went back to his Chicago home for a birthday bash with Reggie Love . The Secret Service was photographed walking Bo at night so the two love birds could have some privacy. I believe Michelle was on another grand tour of the world on our dime. The tabloids at the checkouts are now saying it will cost us $300,00 for a separate aircraft just to fly out her clothes to Hawaii. Their non stop luxurious vacations and top shelf parties the next four years are going to make our heads spin , our stomachs roil and our blood pressure skyrocket. We ain´t seen nothing, yet.

The Obama administration is engaged in a broad push to make more home loans available to people with weaker credit, an effort that officials say will help power the economic recovery but that skeptics say could open the door to the risky lending that caused the housing crash in the first place. President Obama’s economic advisers and outside experts say the nation’s much-celebrated housing rebound is leaving too many people behind, including young people looking to buy their first homes and individuals with credit records weakened by the recession.

PALM CITY, Fla. – President Obama on Sunday displayed the freedom that comes with not having another election ahead of him, golfing with Tiger Woods in an enclave of privilege here along Florida’s blustery Atlantic coast. Since his reelection in November, Obama has been talking about the perils facing America’s middle class, highlighted in his State of the Union address last week. On Friday he visited a public high school in his hometown of Chicago, where he spoke in personal terms about the need to reduce gun violence and create jobs in the country’s troubled urban areas.

President Obama summoned congressional leaders to a Friday summit at the White House in a last-ditch effort to protect taxpayers, unemployed workers and the fragile U.S. recovery from severe austerity measures set to hit in just four days. Also Thursday, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) announced that he would call the House back into session this weekend. And in perhaps the most significant development, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for the first time was engaged directly in talks with the White House. He signaled an interest in cutting a deal.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped.
