Obama nominates Kerry for State
United Press International, by Staff

Washington - U.S. President Barack Obama Friday nominated Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., to succeed Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. Announcing his decision at the White House, Obama said Kerry´s "entire life has prepared him" to serve as secretary of state. "As the son of a Foreign Service officer, he has a deep respect for the men and women of the State Department -- the role they play in advancing our interests and values, the risks that they undertake and the sacrifices that they make along with their families," the president said. "Having served with valor in Vietnam,

"Please store your luggage in the overhead bins. Your barf bags are below the tray in front of you..."

I can only hope Kerry is Swift-Boated, again. This is a truly obscene gesture to the Military required to protect him when he is abroard, should he win confirmation.

Reporting for doody, J f´n Kerry. As the article says, I´m sure he has much respect for the men and women of the State Department. The armed forces I´m sure he has a lot of respect for too. That´s why he accused them of being baby killers, etc., during his glorious days in Viet Nam.

Washington - President Obama’s annual budget request to Congress will propose a significant change in how the government pays to fight wildfires, administration officials said, a move that they say reflects the ways in which climate change is increasing the risk for and cost of those fires. To understand why President Obama’s Syria policy has failed so badly, look no further than the brutal regime crackdown on political protesters in Ukraine. The link is Vladimir Putin. U.S. officials foolishly banked on the Russian leader to squeeze Syria’s dictator into a political compromise at Geneva peace talks. But Putin — who prides himself on displays of bare-chested machismo — disdains political compromise. He prefers strongmen, whether in Syria, Ukraine or elsewhere, and will back Bashar al-Assad, no matter his war crimes. There´s a debate going on about Hillary Clinton´s past. If she runs for president in 2016, should Republicans reach back to the scandals of her years as First Lady? Or should they focus on more recent times, especially her tenure as Secretary of State, to build a case against her? The GOP doesn´t have to choose. Of course Clinton´s recent experiences are relevant to a presidential run. But so are her actions in the 90s, the 80s and even the 70s. It´s not ancient history; it reveals something about who Clinton was and still is. And re-examining her past is entirely consistent with practices in recent campaigns. In the 2012 presidential race,

The injunction would have given Notre Dame a temporary reprieve from the birth control mandate, as the Roman Catholic school challenges the rule in court.
