Exclusive -- Gabriel Sherman:
´Jayson Blair on Steroids´

Breitbart Big Journalism, by Capitol Confidential

“Gabe Sherman is Jayson Blair on steroids.” That’s one tough assessment of Gabriel Sherman, the over-eager reporter and from-a-great-distance biographer of Roger Ailes. Who said it? A well-placed source close to Fox News. And the source makes a very strong case. Jayson Blair, of course, was the serially dishonest reporter for The New York Times who was fired, finally, in 2003. Today, in the opinion of many, Sherman is following in Blair’s disastrous and disgraced footsteps. On December 17, under the headline, “Rupert Murdoch Wants Stricter Gun Laws After Newtown, But Fox News Doesn’t

"Serially dishonest"?

How about "fraud"?

How about "liar"?

Remember your Churchill! "Old words are best. Old words when short are best of all."

Colleague says conservative

Oscar-winning producer Gerald Molen told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Monday night he believes his colleague, conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, is being singled out by the Obama administration. Federal prosecutors last week announced campaign finance charges against D´Souza, the documentarian behind the anti-President Obama film “2016: Obama’s America,” which was released during the 2012 presidential campaign. Molen, an executive producer on “2016,” said he finds the prosecution of D’Souza strange and he believes D’Souza could be being targeted because of the material in his films.

John Rizzo spent 34 years as a lawyer at the Central Intelligence Agency. The memoir of his service between 1976 and 2009 — Company Man — has just been published. It was the subject of a harshly negative review by Fred Kaplan in the New York Times Book Review a few weeks back. By contrast, in a review behind the Wall Street Journal’s loosely guarded paywall (you can dig it up via Google), former Attorney General Michael Mukasey finds it a valuable account. Mukasey hold it to be “emphatically a book for anyone who cares about the security of this

President Obama´s pen and phone and threats to use them could forever transform the meaning of the term "bully pulpit" in our nation´s lexicon. According to the Oxford Dictionary, "bully pulpit" describes "a public office or position of authority that provides its occupant with an outstanding opportunity to speak out on any issue." The term originated with President Theodore Roosevelt, who often used the word "bully" and once said of his presidency: "I have got such a bully pulpit." Nowadays, though, Roosevelt´s use of the word "bully" -- a positive adjective meaning "first rate" or exclamation expressing approval -- occupies

The cows are finally coming home. After more than two years of talks, negotiators released a long-awaited Farm Bill Monday evening. The legislation is the last big item on the 2013 congressional to-do list and it´s expected to sail through the House and Senate in the coming days -- mostly because lawmakers want to get it over with already. Just as we scoured the more than 1,000-page $1.1 trillion spending agreement passed this month for juicy tidbits, we´ve perused the 959-page farm bill to call out some neat, new and interesting anecdotes that might not normally see the light of

Nigel Farage´s right-wing UK Independence Party (UKIP) has once again rocked the British political establishment by coming first in a recent poll which quizzed Brits on their feelings towards the four main political parties. While UKIP hasn´t yet mustered up any elected members of the UK Parliament, the party this week registered as Britain´s most favoured political organisation, scoring 27 percentage points ahead of the left-wing Labour Party´s 26 and the Conservative Party´s 25 percent. UKIP is also expected to take a huge chunk of seats at the upcoming European Parliamentary elections in May, promising more Eurosceptic Members (MEPs) who

Breitbart News has learned that the Tea Party movement will celebrate its five-year anniversary with a blockbuster event on February 27 in Washington, D.C. that will bring together Tea Party conservatives in Congress with local activists and movement leaders from across the nation. The Tea Party Patriots will organize the event that will reflect on why the movement formed, the significant victories it has achieved, and the road ahead as it comes under assault by the institutional left and even the Republican establishment that wants to preserve the status quo. “It’s amazing to think of all the things we have

If you want to know why the left is wrong about income inequality, you need to watch this Margaret Thatcher video. In just a few minutes, the “Iron Lady” explains how some – perhaps most – statists would be willing to reduce income for the poor if they could impose even greater damage on the rich. This picture is another way of getting across the same point. It was sent to me by Richard Rahn (famous for the Rahn Curve), and it uses two pizzas to show how leftist policies would “solve” inequality. (Photo) I like this analogy, and not

President Obama has been losing his TV audience — literally. With the State of the Union proving ever less entrancing for viewers, the White House is desperate to turn the speech into a multiday event in an effort to bolster interest in Mr. Obama’s policies, even if people don’t tune in to hear his words. With online question-and-answer sessions, a “virtual road trip” scheduled for Friday and a presidential video, the White House is determined to spread Mr. Obama’s message beyond Tuesday night’s hourlong address. “Literally, the conversation never ends,” said Lee Rainie, director of the Pew Research Center’s Internet

Last week the Wall Street Journal published Gregory Hicks’s column “Benghazi and the smearing of Chris Stevens.” It would be easy to overlook Hicks’s column in the crush of last week’s news, but it is deserving of special attention. In the column Hicks offers his eyewitness testimony to the security issues that Stevens dealt with at our Libyan facilities before his death. The redacted report of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Committee that was released on January 15 has left some to draw the conclusion that Stevens rejected additional security and to imply that he is responsible for the success

President Barack Obama was right when he said, “The long-term unemployed are not lazy. They’re not lacking in motivation. They’re coping with the aftermath of the worst economic crisis in generations.” He should know, his policies prolong the situation. Clinton made the confession at the National Automobile Dealers Association meeting in New Orleans. “The last time I actually drove a car myself was 1996,” the 66-year-old Clinton told the audience. “And I remember it very well, and so does the Secret Service, which is why I haven’t driven since then.”

Deep within the Earth, a fierce molten core is generating a magnetic field capable of defending our planet against devastating solar winds. The protective field extends thousands of miles into space and its magnetism affects everything from global communication to animal migration and weather patterns. But this magnetic field, so important to life on Earth, has weakened by 15 per cent over the last 200 years. And this, scientists claim, could be a sign that the Earth’s poles are about to flip. Experts believe we´re currently overdue a flip, but they´re unsure when this could occur. If a switch happens, we would be exposed
