Katherine Feinstein retiring as judge

| Katherine Feinstein, who as presiding judge steered San Francisco Superior Court through a series of debilitating state budget cuts, is retiring after more than 12 years on the bench and is open to running for public office, she told The Chronicle. The 55-year-old daughter of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein downplayed, however, the possibility of vying for her mother´s seat if the state´s senior senator does not run in 2018, saying her mother shows no signs of slowing down. The judge also indicated the Senate would be a big step for a neophyte to elected office, even one steeped in politics since childhood.
|
Comments: A possible future "stealth" politician to be aware of may try to replace her mom, Senator Diane Feinstein. [Is she "sick," like PIAPS?] Then, remember PIAPS spawn, Chelsea.

Good grief - this is NOT the House of Lords!
Term limits would put the kibosh on this "MY seat in the Senate" baloney.

Liberal spawning another liberal. More proof that liberalism is a genetic disorder. All liberal breeding should be banned. Make it a part of gun control legislation. Perhaps the EPA can get involved with new regulations.

Diane will be 85 at the end of her new term. If she steps down, Jerry Brown would appoint her successor. Watch for a deal in about one year.

Some positions should be left in the will and be done with the expense of an election because it´s about the same.

Caracas, Venezuela - Venezuela’s government-friendly electoral council quickly certified the razor-thin presidential victory of Hugo Chavez’ hand-picked successor Monday, apparently ignoring opposition demands for a recount as anti-government protests broke out in the bitterly polarized nation. (Snip) Maduro was elected Sunday by a margin of 50.8 percent to 49 percent over challenger Henrique Capriles — a difference of just 262,000 votes out of 14.9 million cast, according to an updated official count released Monday. The Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne split rumors that bubbled up over the weekend and on Monday were painting anything but a clear picture of this nearly 31-year-old marriage. Son Jack Osbourne, however, was doing his part to unmuddy the waters. First, the rumors ... Sharon was caught on camera "moving into a new home" recently, according to the Daily Mail, which noted the activity took place just days before "The Talk" host was photographed sans wedding ring at a lunch date with daughter Kelly. South Florida is battling a growing infestation of the giant African land snail. The snail is considered one of the most destructive invasive species, feeding voraciously on more than 500 plant species. They can also eat through plaster walls, which provides the calcium content they need for their shells. Experts recently gathered at a science meeting in Gainesville to seek the best way of eradicating the snails. (Snip) In some Caribbean countries, such as Barbados, which are overrun with the creatures, the snails´ shells blow out car tyres and turn into projectiles when they encounter lawnmower blades.

US President Barack Obama will meet South Korean President Park Geun-hye in Washington on 7 May amid high tensions on the Korean peninsula. The meeting will cover economic and security issues, officials say. In recent weeks, the North has threatened to attack South Korea, Japan and US bases in the region. The North has now said it will retaliate against the South after protesters there burned portraits of its leaders. (Snip) In response, North Korea on its official news agency KCNA issued an "ultimatum" against the South if it did not apologise for the protests.

The US administration has declared its determination to provide non-lethal assistance in the form of bullet-proof vests, night vision goggles and other devices to the Syrian opposition. (Snip) In reality, the US administration is taking a back seat on the Syrian crisis—an attitude it also adopted when handling the Libyan crisis. But there is one small difference between the two: in Syria, the US is not seated behind NATO troops, but rather behind the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the Al-Nusra Front. Washington is allowing all of these groups to lead in the hope that it will reap the last-minute benefit:

The school where President Barack Obama sends his daughters is at the centre of a sex storm. The Quaker-run Sidwell Friends School in Washington DC is one of America’s most exclusive, attended by many generations of presidents’ children. Obama and his wife Michelle pay more than £40,000 a year in fees for their daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11. But this week sordid details of an affair between a psychologist at the famously secretive school and a pupil’s mother (Snip) Some friends have suggested Malia and Sasha should be tutored at home in the White House,

The impending introduction of legislation to overhaul the country’s badly strained immigration system received an extraordinary endorsement on Sunday from Senator Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida, who, after holding back for weeks, appeared on no fewer than seven television talk shows to explain and defend a plan that he said would be “a net positive for the country, now and in the future.” It was a striking show of confidence from Mr. Rubio, one of eight members of a bipartisan Senate group that has been crafting a plan to provide a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants;

In Philadelphia, a doctor is on trial for the gruesome murders of eight people inside his low-rent office. A former assistant testified that she personally witnessed the physician commit at least 30 murders. Most of the patients were "beheaded," another assistant said, adding that there was "blood all over the place." If you have not heard of this doctor´s trial for committing a terrifying, decades-long string of serial killings, there is a reason. He is an abortionist. His name is Kermit Gosnell. Rep. Steve Stockman (R) of Texas touts himself as "the most conservative congressman in Texas." His new bumper sticker should erase any doubts. On Friday, Representative Stockman´s Twitter account unveiled his new campaign bumper sticker: "If babies had guns, they wouldn´t be aborted. Vote Pro-Life!" If you’re a member of the mainstream media, the odds are you’ve completely buried the Kermit Gosnell story. Whether you’ve hushed the murders of hundreds of babies because you’re “pro-choice,” because you don’t really care, or because Barack Obama once voted to protect many of the same procedures employed by Kermit Gosnell doesn’t really matter. You’ve been willfully negligent in your reporting and, now, you’re being shamed into correcting yourself. Case in point is last night’s episode of Anderson Cooper 360. Cooper devoted nearly half of last night’s episode to the story,

In what can only be described as a “house of horrors,” abortion provider Kermit Gosnell stands trial in Philadelphia, charged with the grotesque murder of at least seven infants, allegedly born alive after botched abortions only to be brutally killed moments later. As this nearly month-long trial continues, it paints the stark and unmistakably abhorrent reality of abortion. While the national mainstream media has been all but silent about this trial, the headlines coming from local media coverage have been morbidly graphic. Babies born alive and then allegedly killed in truly barbaric ways.

Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993. Is media bias to blame for lack of Gosnell coverage? Or something far more banal? The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.

President Obama and I were college classmate at Columbia University, class of ’83. I know all too well how mindlessly liberal the students and faculty of that institution can be, and Barack Obama is certainly no exception. My time at Columbia made it crystal clear: liberals always believe they are morally superior.
