Of course you are a threat. Not a threat to your neighbors, me, my grandchildren, but a threat to an oppressive government. You are the very threat our founders knew was essential for the survival of our constitutional republic. Anyone who considers you a threat based on what you have shared, has something in mind other than our republic in it´s intended form as designed and defined in our founding documents.

To battle the progressives where they live, this is a meme that can have several positive political permutations. For example, tie accepting the ban on "assault rifles" to active Muslim profiling at airports and a ban on terrorist breeding grounds known as mosques. The progressive MO is to say something over and over long enough that the low information crowd begins to accept it as if it were an original thought.

Even non political school kids reject the tyranny of he government when they dump the school lunches forced on them by a liberal knows best government.Bloomberg thinks getting rid of salt,big sodas and trans fats are the big answer to obesity when I bet NY is still one of the most obese cities in the country.

I´m not sure the psychiatric community is up to this task either. They´re mostly trained in liberal perspective schools ripe with group think and the culture of throwing a pill at a problem.

If you are housing a mentally ill loved one, or if a mentally ill loved one is a frequent visitor or has a key to your home, then you are a threat. Otherwise, no you are not.

People with severe mental illness don´t think to steal guns from strangers when they are psychotic. But they may go after guns if they know where they are and how to access them. The most likely victim is the mentally ill person - suicide. Next most likely victim is a member of the immediate family. Killings of strangers is far, far less likely...although those are the stories that make their way to the media. But we who deal with mental health know that the person and family are at highest risk.

Armed law-abiding Americans are a threat.

They´re a threat to tyranny.

They´re a threat to criminals.

They´re a threat to those who seek to do this nation harm.

So far no one thinks it odd that the firearms that are among the least likely to be used in a homicide are those most villified by those on the Left and those who haven´t any idea about how a firearm is operates or employed?

The Founders of this nation had experienced the attempted confiscation of the most modern firearms of their time, and made sure that when such threats to liberty would inevitably come to the levers of power with the belief that the individual exists for the well-being of the state that the individual would have the means to serve as a check and balance to counter such a threat.

Tyrants, dictators and both sides of the socialist coin - national socialists and communists - have always feared an armed citizenry, and the reason for that is such philosophies do not respect the rights of free men, but instead rely on compulsion at every turn - and the lives of 100 million killed last century are stark evidence of this fact.

Compulsion, control, and dominance over the spirit and beliefs of the individual is made far tougher when those individuals have the means to resist.
