| The Sandy Hook gunman worshiped the devil and had an online page dedicated to Satan, a former classmate revealed, as his childhood barber recalls Adam Lanza never spoke and would stare at the floor every time he had his hair cut. Lanza´s worshiping page had the word ´Devil´ written in red, Gothic-style letters against a black background, Trevor L. Todd told The National Enquirer, something which he said was ´weird´ and ´gave him the chills´. The FBI are trying to piece together his smashed up hard drive to see if his online footprint will reveal

And the behavior of this profoundly disturbed, deeply psychotic individual sets the standard for how the rest of the population is to be regulated. Well played, cynical lefty opportunists.

So, open season on, "creepy" kids?
One real danger here is that school officials will take this incident as an unlimited license go crusading into kids psyches.

More unsubstantiated conjecture. The article only mentions the statement about Satan by one individual and suggests participation in Satan worshipping sites.

The only people surprised by this, OP, would be the left. I was waiting to hear them label him a right-wing Christian clinging to his Bible and mommy´s guns.
Instead the poor guy had a tormented soul. I cannot imagine what was screwed up in his head for him to worship the Devil.
But that´s what it would take to kill those women and children: a Devil.

The Mail continues to shop the story about commitment, even though the pastor father of the young man who gave Fox News the hearsay story says that it had not been confirmed. He was "perplexed" that Fox would run such "hearsay" and advised that other news outlets not run with it.

His grades in school. His driving record. But the don´t want that stuff. They want "he had a devil worshipping page ... that ... um ... you can´t really access because he smashed his hard drive ... but I swear it was there!"

It would seem as he became a man, he had outgrown his mother´s ability to take care of her mentally disturbed son as she had when he was a child. She apparently finally realized it and was desperately seeking a good place for him to be properly taken care of but it was too late.
Solving this delima is the problem challenging our society as this pattern is not new and there are no doubt other such disturbed children growing up, leaving their parents to cope as best they can. Compassion for all concerned should consider & provide options for appropriate care of the mentally ill instead of leaving their families to cope or simply leaving them alone on the streets as the current legalities seem to do. American society should obviously not continue a policy of neglect regarding this issue, nor try to politicize it & use it to place blame anywhere else.

Dittos, #6, #8, #11, and #12. The police can stop this by revealing facts just as soon as they are confirmed. With both the suspect and victims dead, there is no legal or privacy reason to delay any release.
For example, if the mother had any connection with the school, even as a volunteer, her name would be on an approved "buzz in" list. Where is it? It should be easy to confirm whether her name was on it or not. What about the hard drive and its conditon? Other records, such as those of the internet service provider, can quickly confirm of debunk the various "theories". Get with it, police, time is important here.

The police have already said that they have strong evidence of the motive, but they haven´t released it. Maybe the kid was an 0bama worshiper. If he had been a tea party guy the media would have blasted that news 24/7 as soon as the info was available and the unionized police would have announced it right away.

Below is an email that David Horowitz sent to the editor of The Daily Beast in response to their recent interview with Bill Ayers. When you interview a shallow, murderous liar like Billy Ayers, you should assign someone who is at least familiar with the basic facts. The Weather Underground was created in 1969, not after the Townhouse explosion which took place in 1970. The Underground was created with a formal “Declaration of War” against “Amerikka.” By their own account at the time (not in retrospect of course) Ayers and his friends were intending to start a race war

CARACAS - Venezuelan opposition leader Henrique Capriles expressed outrage on Monday at the description of his supporters as "heirs of Hitler" by election rival and acting President Nicolas Maduro. The buildup to the South American OPEC nation´s April 14 vote has been characterized by highly personalized attacks between both candidates hoping to replace the late Hugo Chavez. At the weekend, Maduro compared opposition complaints about Cuban doctors working in Venezuela with the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. "The heirs of Hitler are leading a campaign in Venezuela against the Cuban people," he said.

MOBILE, Ala. — The crippled cruise ship whose sewage-filled breakdown in the Gulf of Mexico subjected thousands to horrendous conditions tore loose Wednesday from the dock where it´s being repaired, lumbered downriver and crunched into a cargo ship. Wind gusts near hurricane strength shoved the 900-foot Carnival Triumph free from its mooring in downtown Mobile, Ala., where the ship was brought in a five-day ordeal that began when an engine fire stranded it off of Mexico in February. Hours later, four tug boats were using several mooring lines to secure the ship to a nearby pier.

Many people climbed onto their roofs in the pouring rain after storm sewers backed up. Water surged up through drains in their kitchen and bathroom floors, and then poured in over their windowsills.

Communist Party (PC) leader Guillermo Teillier has attracted vehement criticism from fellow politicians after admitting to authorizing a failed assassination attempt on right-wing dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1986 and defending the use of violence in certain political situations. In an interview by El Semanal published Sunday, Teillier spoke frankly about his role as leader and military chief of the Communist Party during the 1980s. Teillier described the attempt on Pinochet’s life as “a party decision” and, although it was unsuccessful, lauded it for “laying bare the weaknesses of the dictatorship”

Amid an accelerated rise in expenditure, increasing losses in state-run oil companies, and costly subsidies, Venezuela´s income is not enough for the Government, which currently faces a serious fiscal imbalance although the oil basket averages a record high of USD 103 per barrel. As a result, two devaluations have been implemented in the last five weeks so as to obtain more bolivars per petrodollars. However, it all seems that despite the significant adjustment in the foreign exchange rate, which will spur the cost of imports and therefore will hit the people, the fiscal crisis will continue.

Governor Brown on Saturday announced he´ll be granting pardons to 65 former felons, including a convicted murderer. The AP says most of the pardons were granted to criminals convicted of low-level offenses, though not all were small-time offenders: Most were for people convicted of selling or possessing drugs. However, Robert Phillip Brown was convicted of murder. He was paroled in 1996 after serving 15 years in prison. ... Others pardoned included Francisco Mauricio Nunes, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and James David Vercellino, who was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Texas employment surged in February as employers added the most new jobs ever in a month. The Texas Workforce Commission on Friday reported 80,600 new jobs across the state. That more than made up for a slow start in January, when an upwardly revised 13,800 jobs were added. The job growth appears to be the highest monthly gain since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking such data in 1939. Texas’ unemployment rate, however, inched up to 6.4 percent, though it was still well below the U.S. rate of 7.7 percent for February. “The addition of over 80,000 jobs in a single month

The head of Italy´s centre-left bloc has hit an impasse in his efforts to form a government and said only a mentally ill person would want to govern Italy now. Pier Luigi Bersani was rebuffed by the anti-establishment Five Star Movement on Wednesday. If he cannot form a coalition, fresh elections could be held in June. Meanwhile caretaker Prime Minister Mario Monti has said he “can´t wait” to leave office. The political stalemate is delaying reforms that could help revive Italy´s recession-hit, debt-laden economy.

It’s no secret that Egyptian slavery is as old as the pyramids. It’s also common knowledge that Barack Obama’s ancestors owned slaves. So it’s really no surprise that he helped usher in a radical Egpytian regime that is restoring slavery. According to the AP Egypt’s new constitution has dropped its ban on slavery: Omissions of certain articles, such as bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties, were equally worrying to critics of the new draft, who pulled out from the panel before the vote. The Obama administration declined to criticize Egypt’s constitution despite its slavery clause.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
