President Barack Obama is launching an administration-wide effort to curb gun violence, underscoring the growing political consensus over tightening gun restrictions following the horrific elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. Obama is tasking Vice President Joe Biden, a longtime gun control advocate, with spearheading the effort. In remarks from the White House on Wednesday, Obama will outline a process for pursuing policy changes following the school shooting, though he is not expected to call for specific measures.

A known gun control nut will head up this so called task force and there will be no predetermined results, yeah right.

After Biden´s debate performance and campaign miss steps he should try a stint in a mental facility first.

Biden in charge of gun control? Nothing like a special ed VP overseeing a Constitutional issue, eh?

And for a real hoot - dig up the 1995 footage of Dianne Feinstein waxing poetic about her concealed weapons permit. But of course *her* weapon is not an ´assault´ weapon...

It´s always amusing when people who wander around the country with a few dozen armed security guards get ´concerned´ for the safety of the rest of us...

My first thought is does Obama know how dense Biden is? Or does he know and wants to manage the commission from the White House? Every time I want to give Obama an opportunity to show that he is growing into at least a C level president, he dashes my hopes.
Goodness, another four years of inept presidential leadership.

But a word to the wise: Don’t leave him alone with a firearm or any sharp objects, including scissors. Also, appoint a special detail to re-orient him at least daily as to century, location, time, place and person.

Facing a surging homicide rate and several headline-grabbing murders, Chicago’s top cop is taking aim at lobbyists who he says prevent politicians from implementing more gun control measures. Appearing on a local Windy City Sunday morning talk show on the radio station WLSAM, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said special interests that lobby politicians to influence their opinion on gun control are the real problem. “If there was a special interest influencing police work, I believe that would be called corruption,” McCarthy said.

Clinton, in what may be her final set of testimony as secretary, pointedly challenged Republican Wisconsin Sen. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
