Dianne Feinstein, who is poised to have a powerful new role as the head of the Senate committee overseeing gun laws.Calls for federal gun restrictions were mounting following last week´s shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. — even from lawmakers who had rejected them in the past. The NRA has little to do with millions of Americans personally committed to the 2nd amendment,so even if th egun lobby itself is weakened you still have millions of gun loving Americans with their eye on other politician.the left is getting too giddy over the demise of the NRA.

I don´t think Obama is a devout gun grabber but what people are afraid of is he buckles to left wing sub groups all the time.

This should always be framed with reference to the Constitution and what was happening at the time of its writing. The Patriots fighting the British had state of the art military grade rifles. The Kentucky sharp shooters had long barreled rifles and could take out the British before the British could get in range to fire accurately.

I see the Second Ammendment as guaranteeing the individual right to own state of the art military grade rifles, like our founders.

When it comes to Obamacare, many Democrats take comfort in polls showing a small majority of voters, or at least a plurality, oppose repealing the Affordable Care Act. To them, that proves the Republicans´ do-away-with-it position is out of sync with voters as this November´s midterm elections approach. The argument shows how far Democrats have retreated from the heady days when they rammed Obamacare through Congress over unanimous GOP opposition. Democrats can´t argue that most people actually like the new law, and indeed many Democratic candidates have adopted a new mantra that it needs to be "fixed." But at least voters

WASHINGTON — A U.S. official says a Malaysia Airlines plane was sending signals to a satellite for four hours after the aircraft went missing, an indication that it was still flying. The official said the Boeing 777-200 wasn´t transmitting data to the satellite, but sending out a signal to establish contact. Boeing offers a satellite service that can receive a stream of data during flight on how the aircraft is functioning. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn´t authorized to speak publicly, said Malaysia Airlines didn´t subscribe to that service, but the system was automatically pinging the satellite

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia’s government categorically denied a report on Thursday suggesting a missing passenger jet flew on for four hours after vanishing from air traffic control systems, as the search entered a sixth day and speculation and theories about the plane’s fate continued to mount.Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. investigators now believe Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 remained in the air four hours after its last confirmed location. That report, quoting two unnamed sources familiar with the U.S. investigation, cited evidence from flight data from the Boeing 777’s engines that are automatically transmitted to the ground. As the

Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease.
