Parents Say Christmas
Carols are Form of Bullying

Fox News, by Todd Starnes

Original Article

A group of parents in Missoula, Mont. are upset over the religious nature of Christmas songs performed at a local elementary school – alleging the songs about the Baby Jesus is unconstitutional and a “form of bullying.” (Snip) The parents, who declined to be identified, are threatening to sue the Missoula County Public School District unless songs like “Joy to the World” and “Good Christian Men Rejoice” are replaced with secular tunes. “Bullying is such a hot topic, yet that seems to be what is occurring here,” the parents wrote in a letter obtained by The Missoulian.

Comments:
It grieves me so what is becoming of our nation and how leftists are being allowed to destroy it.

They don´t like the Christian "bullying," let them take their little brats out of school, and go live on an island somewhere, where they can dance naked around a Maypole, howl at the moon, or whatever.

There is no such thing as nonideological content.

To say expression of ideology is bullying is to say that any expression of ideology is bullying.

I wonder if a judge can figure that out.

Well, I think SOMEBODY is acting like a bully, but it´s the kid yelling "I´m gonna tell my dad" all the time.

Absolutely #8. They´re your neighbors that think your fence is too tall or your trees are too close to the property line, so they sic your HOA or city inspector on you, while they let their own cats roam to pee up your car wheels and poop up your garden. They´re the ones that complain about your smoking while their kids are taking dope in their basement. Their kids are the high school bullies that when they finally meet their match and get their rear ends handed to them, they scream foul and want to sue.

Yeah, those kinds of people.

They sound like liberals who moved to Montana from somewhere else, now want to impose their own views on everyone else. Why not just ask if their precious kiddies can be excused from any Christmas-themed activities (including the 2 weeks off of school)?

FInd out who the parents are, get the rest of the neighbors to sing a whole bunch of Christmas carols outside their homes all night.

Freedom of speech.

My opinion? We let the left hijack Christmas a long time ago. So, let´s take it back. We allowed them to take it over and redefine it and distribute it to us as they see fit and it is barely recognizable today.
We let Hollywood tell us how our Christmas should be. We let the retailers tell us how our Christmas should be. We let the music industry tell us how our Christmas should be. Now we let the government tell us how our Christmas should be. I say enough. Take it back. That means taking back your money as well. Do that and you´ll have a real Come to Jesus moment for everyone involved.

"Parents" who inculcate in their [very, very unlucky] kids the attitude that any perceived difference must be bullying are guilty of child abuse at best.

Sorry, this country is majority rule. If that wasn´t the case we could have easily gotten rid of BO´s progressive idiocy. Instead we are stuck with it. We are still largely a Christian nation and it is manifestly clear that the Country was not set up to exclude God from our public institutions but to prevent the government from imposing a form of worshiping on us.

More PC run amok.

It sounds to me like they somehow have not gotten the memo that Christmas is a religious holiday. The first half of the word is "Christ". People who seek to be offended usually manufacture their own reasons to be offended.

´Bullying´ has become the tiresome buzzword for anything that our self-esteem culture feels threatened by as a result of their own insecurities.

It is not synonymous with negative feedback but they believe it is.

What are Montanans doing joining the blue state atheist dross anyway?

How sad to see the world/country today!

These parents are stealing the faith that their children need and they will be held accountable. They wouldn´t like heaven either where we will continually rejoice and be glad in the presence of Jesus, our Lord/Savior.

Is this the party of choice? They want US to belive they really care about US!

Why would we not want a little bit of Joy to come into this world. That´s what God did - sending His only-begotten Son, Jesus, to redeem US from the Satanic power that had governed the earth since Adam chose him over God.

Pray for America. We need salvation from within, knowing in Whom we believe, allowing God to rule/reign in our hearts and then we can/will be the blessed nation we once were.

History proves that those who dishonor God suffer destruction for they have no one to rely upon other than their own selfish hearts.

How can singing carols be a form of bullying? Only in the hearts of those so hateful that they are looking for excuses to spread their athiestic agenda, where God is denied and political correctness is the law of the land.

Pray for Amerca! We are in perilous times! This is how it was before Jesus came. He set us free.

Do not squander your freedom and let the ACLU bullies demand we submit or else.

God´s Kingdom is within and one day we will know the power we have because Jesus reigns here and hereafter.

Pray for America! We are in dire need of a Savior.

Jesus alone is our salvation!

Joy to the world, the Lord has come! Amen

Sell all your toys and get rural.

Geographic separation from the opinions of others works wonders.

Here´s the bad news: The "Establishment" clause of our Constitution does suggest that the government, in all of it´s manifestations, resist the impulse to promote or ´establish´ ANY religion. This is a powerful defense against Islam.(and Sharia) It also requires that we not ask the government to promote our own favorite religions and their ceremonial expressions.

Doesn´t that seem reasonable ?

O.K., maybe it´s time to eliminate all holidays from the school calendar and require attendance by students AND teachers on all holidays. Do away with Christmas, excuse me, Winter break; no more Easter, oops, Spring break. Forget the concerts...someone is going to be offended no matter what.

#2´s maypole idea sounds pretty good. I may sign up for that one. But that´s immaterial.
Bullying is being subjected to daily beatings from the fat kid with nobody willing to stop it. Bullying is continuous nasty rumors being started about some innocent person for the amusement of the bully. Bullying is a never ending assault on someone who is not in any way interfering in the bully´s business.
Christmas songs are not bullying, and the charge dumbs down the real bullying.
While those horrible murders were taking place in CT, I was at my grandkids school listening to their class sing Christian Christmas songs. My non-Christian ears did not burn, and I didn´t feel like I was getting a spiritual wedgie. I was grateful I have lived long enough to hear the little varmints sing their hearts out.
Clearly these parents are Obie voters.

I and so many others am so tired of being BULLIED by people like this! They are the reason my kids have to sing the absolute lamest holiday songs at our school´s "holiday" concert! Christmas - I remind these jerks- is a national holiday. Until Christmas is no longer a NATIONAL HOLIDAY in the United States, get lost already!!!! Here is the lineup I had to suffer through last week:

1. Hannukah song #1
2. Kwanza song that just repeated the words "ohhh Kwanza" a hundred times
3. Ho Ho Santa Claus (Really?????)
4. Hannukah song #2
5. Oh Kwanza (I´m not kidding- the same song twice!!!!1)
6. music-only version of A Rather Jolly Old Saint Nicolas
7. Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Yes my friends. Not one actual Christmas song. And equal time for other less important holidays.

#36 - Your experience sounds like heaven compared to my absolutely horrible, lame, boring show. These secular bullies have ruined the excitement of Christmas at school for our kids! The music director obviously purposely picked the worst Christmas-related songs possible to put them on par with Kwanza which no one celebrates, and Hannukah, which is a minor Jewish holiday. It is disgusting!

I am not religious. I don´t feel oppressed or threatened by Christianity or Judaism or even Buddhism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianisim, Hinduism, Bahaiism, etc. Of course, the one left off the list in the preceding sentence worries me a lot.

Religion is a historical and important fact of our existence even as part of secular history. Taking it out of history or contemporary life completely would be as silly as trying to take water out of your diet. It´s THERE, and to a lot of people it´s actually life-sustaining.

I can´t believe in a place like Montana people can feel so victimized. It´s not a nanny-ninny state like here in New York.

Reply 39 - Posted by: Teleologicus, 12/18/2012 1:01:38 PM     (No. 9072861)

Too bad. Christmas without those beautiful old carols just isn´t Christmas any more. At least they maintained a facade of celebrating the Nativity. Soon it will be all shopping and nothing else. Then, like one of those cartoon characters that runs off a cliff and keeps running until he looks down to find nothing underneath and promptly falls, people will begin to wonder just why they are running around spending money they don´t have or could use for other things to buy gifts for people who most of the time have everything they want and need. Taking Christ out of Christmas could end up being bad for the economy.

One thinks of the ancient Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times.

This multi-culti business is a form of cultural suicide. A culture that is no culture in particular but all cultures in general is no culture at all. It can´t last. Things fall apart. The center does not hold.

So, if you don´t like it, don´t go to Christmas pageants. I am highly offended by Muslim religious celebrations where they bleed animals to death and bathe themselves in the blood- so, I just don´t attend them.

So, how do you feel about the Muslims having their payer rugs, their strange clothing and their "special" prayer rooms in schools and universities? I don´t here you squawking at all about how offensive and "bullying" those things are. I guess it´s because if you squawk too loudly over that kind of "bullying" the Muslims will kill you! Right? So, you just hypocritically complain against peaceful, sharing religions- right?

For several years, I was on a quest for albums of traditional Christmas carols, sung in the traditional way, not the warbling garbage produced in this country. I finally found one in the Metropolitan Museum of Art catalog. It was produced in Great Britian by a 90-ish David Willcocks. Well worth the price. I listen to it every night.

In a revelation that may have Colorado voters rethinking their state’s push on gun control, court documents revealed that the mass shooting in Aurora that killed 12 and injured 70 more could have been prevented by law enforcement. The psychiatrist for suspect, James Holmes, had warned campus police that Holmes was dangerous and homicidal a month before the shooting took place. Lynne Fenton even told the police that Holmes had begun to stalk and threaten her, and yet no action was apparently taken: A University of Colorado psychiatrist told campus police a month before the Aurora

Rep. Peter King of New York on Friday cast Sen. Marco Rubio as a hypocrite for voting against the the Hurricane Sandy relief package and expressed disbelief that the Florida senator would then turn around and try to raise campaign money in the region. Mr. King questioned how Mr. Rubio could vote against the $60 million in relief for New York and New Jersey when Florida has received loads of federal money for Hurricane victims. “Guys like Marco Rubio of Florida, with all the money that you people have gotten in Florida over the years, with every hurricane

Al Sharpton’s National Action Network in New York, Politico reported. “It is time to ask ourselves some fundamental questions about our criminal justice system. … It is time to examine our systems and determine what truly works.” Mr. Holder said in the Politico report

President Obama and other Washington politicians are getting a bum rap on TV news as money-grubbers and power-grabbers, views the president´s former top speechwriter calls lies, especially those aimed at his former boss. Jon Favreau told students at Harvard University´s Institute of Politics that TV portrays political leaders wrongly, and that the public ends up with a bad view of those in power. "I think that a lot of people turn on the news today, a lot of young people, and they hear people tell them that every motivation of every politician on either

Joyce Karam, Washington correspondent for pan-Arabic daily Al-Hayat, offers a sobering assessment on the Al-Arabiya website of the current administrations efforts in the post-”Arab Spring” Middle East. She begins by noting a how a minor recent diplomatic walkback highlights the White House’s contradictory policy: It was only fitting that the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announces another traditional trip to the Middle East on the same day that the U.S. embassy in Cairo withdraws its tweet advancing the case for Egyptian Comedian Bassem Youssef as he faces intimidation from the Mursi government.

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
