I don´t understand the legal mumbo jumbo, but according to the Durham in Wonderland blog, these are out of control activist judges. But of course.

Under the black robes of a judge, there lurks an attorney. ´nuff said!

If there was ever an institution that would benefit from term limits, it´s the judiciary.

Why bother to actually read the article before posting? The court dismissed the complaints from team members who were not charged. That sounds reasonable to me.

Read the article, they dismissed the charges from the three accused players along with uncharged players who had filed claims.

I guess the courts grant immunity to liberal lynch mobs.

I would argue that those players not charged are still tainted because of their affiliation with the team. I remember the media lynch mob at that time and they were collective in their denouncement of the lacrosse team. I find it disgusting that the city attorney is "heartened" that the city does not have to pay the students whose reputations have been tainted or ruined. As with all lawyers, legal is what you can get away with, not necessarily justice or moral.

By the way, the professors who took out a full page add in the local paper condemning the players have not suffered one bit for the defamation they provided to the mix. They´re still on staff and have not had so much as a reprimand.

To me, that leaves the 3 who were charged with rape with intact federal cases. Its really sad that reporting today is soooo poor that 2 different people reading the story come away with different understandings of the primary information being conveyed.

The N&O is a notoriously lefty paper. A significant error in the piece is:

Actually, if I recall correctly, most of the lacrosse players were not from wealthy homes but were at Duke on lacrosse scholarships.

#6, I read it and my conclusion is the same as before I started reading it. You seriously think that every member of that accused team did not suffer extreme anguish over the charges that the despicable DA, the college faculty, the city and just about every media outlet in the world, threw at them? This article STILL doesn´t explain their innocence or defend them. Perhaps if more real and imagined filth about US Appeals Court judges started being played in the media day and night for months, maybe THEN there would be actual justice instead of the system covering itself. I guess the ´good´ news is supposed to be the fact that the incompetent, PC city officials responsible for the mess have the court costs covered by insurance.

The entire school was damaged. This needs to go to the Supremes. You can´t let this slide, when we have evil in control. It could become legal protection for future liars... After they destroy lives. With a marxist regime in control.. we can´t risk it.
