Why we should politicize the Newtown
school shooting, starting right now

Yahoo! News, by Jeff Greenfield

Original Article

Two events, each more than a century old, instruct us about how we should act in the face of what happened Friday in Newtown, Conn. On March 25, 1911, fire broke out in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in lower Manhattan. Because the owners had locked the doors and stairwells, in an effort to prevent theft and unauthorized work breaks, the garment workers were trapped in the fire; 146 of them, almost all young female immigrants, died. In the wake of the disaster, New York politicians–including future Gov. Al Smith and future Sen. Robert Wagner–“exploited the tragedy.” How? By helping push

I suppose the Left also wants the funerals of the children to be political pep rallies too. Disgusting.

Jeff is right. We should implement an assault weapons ban so that this will never happen again. Just like it did the last time we had one. And once that is done, we should expand the gun free zones. Say extend it to the ghetto and around crack houses. Thus, no more gun violence. And should never, ever in a thousand years do a dang thing about mentally ill nut jobs and trying to put them in places where they can´t hurt people. Isn’t the very definition of inanity doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result? Well, looks like we have proof positive that liberals are insane.

The only way to truly get rid of most the gun problem is to go house to house, searching for all weapons and confiscating them. Some will never be found and criminals and the mentally disturbed will somehow find a way to inflict pain on society, with guns or other means. When one is in pain, or if mentally disturbed they will cause pain on others by any means. We must identify the disturbed and see to it that they are treated properly or put them away safely and humanely.

An extremely irresponsible man is lecturing us here.

I would prefer to see some legislation that restricts the First Amendment rights of Mr. Greenfield and his presstitute friends to lie with impunity. We have just been through an astonishing election cycle that was filled with spin, lies and corruption. most of which came from Greenfield and his ilk.

Let´s put a stop to that.

It is refreshing to read most of the comments on Greenfield´s site; most blame mental illness or psychological treating drugs/meds. Perhaps there is a chance to protect our Second Amendment rights.

Anyone who thought that NØbama and the Demon-RATS didn´t have every intention of destroying the 2nd amendment and taking away guns from law abiding citizens as soon as the election results rolled in on November 6th, was truly living in a fantasy world.

This most recent mass murder is just a very convenient excuse to get started.

Our republic and our Constitution both died on 11-6-2012. This is just the continued rotting of the corpse that remains...

Neither our Republic, nor our Constitution died! We ARE, however, filled with enemies of State who are traitors to our Republic and willful violators of their oaths of office.

If they were properly dealt with and held accountable we could return to a Constitutional Republic. Currently, there is a tyrannical enemy in the WH.

Since we´re taking a big cut from defense dept., let´s pass a law that says every elementary school must fire an assistant assistant principal in charge of diversity and condom distribution and hire one of the laid off soldiers to guard the school. Politicizing an event is not always a good thing, for example the Reichstag fire.

If the liberal Northeast can´t pass effective gun control legislation then I would suggest that there is no such thing as effective gun control legislation.

THANK you Jeff Greenfield. You reminded me that we SHOULD politicize the root cause of most of our current problems, Democrats. Using YOUR methodology, I´ve cited the time Democrats murdered all those black orphans in NYC. No, really, it happened, it was beyond belief, but only one of many examples of what the Democrats will do for power. Too harsh? What has the war on poverty done to all of us? Forget the shambles their open back door to the world´s most desperate, criminal, illiterate, dependent, class has done to our demographics. Just read about the purposeful horror that the Democrats cheered on. - http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/317749.html

Greenfield, Schumer, Bloomberg, Durbin, Feinstein, Emanuel, Boxer ..... Why are these people constantly on the radical left side of politics?

Dennis Prager, a conservative Jew, sums it up this way:
´If you believe that leftist ideas and policies are good for America and for the world, then you are particularly pleased to know how deeply Jews — with their moral passion, intellectual energies and abilities, and financial clout — are involved with the Left. If, on the other hand, you believe that the Left is morally confused and largely a destructive force in America and the world, then the Jews´ disproportionate involvement on the Left is nothing less than a tragedy — for the world and especially for the Jews.´

Author is right in advocating politicizing the Kindergarten Massacre for generating a real solution. But his solution of gun control is worthless. The shooter took the guns from his mother´s legal collection.

The better proposal is to investigate the connection of youth marijuana use to the increase in youth violence and then crack down on pot users, pushers and politicians advocating legalizing it. Check Google for the connection of pot to psychosis and violence.

Bottom line: pot makes lots of kids violent, some psychotic, and as evidenced by the fact that most school shooters were habitual pot users, periodically schoolchild mass murderers.

Let´s politicize the condition that with politicians turning a blind eye to the psychosis and violence related to pot, children everywhere are endangered from drug-crazed addicts no matter where they are.

Want to know the worst ever school massacre: May 18, 1927 - Former school board member Andrew Kehoe set off three bombs in Bath Township, Michigan killing 45 people and wounding 58. Kehoe killed himself and the superintendent by blowing up his own vehicle.

Didn´t need an assault rifle, did he? There was also a guy who attacked a school with insecticide and a flame thrower. Why don´t liberals get it that evil, crazy people are creative? Self-righteous, knee-jerk politicization of a crisis by taking away guns from innocent people (who want to protect themselves from evil, crazy people) is not the answer.

People that want to be destructive will find a way to accomplish their goal with whatever is at hand. Anyone seriously discussing this problem KNOWS there is no real solution. Lock up mentally ill people? We tried that and it was liberals that decided it was a violation of their rights. Now many of those are street people, unable to work or care for themselves and a threat to those around them. Can we identify WHICH of the Goth kids are dangerous? Nope. Can we fix them with treatment? Probably not. Will banning automatic weapons or even all guns stop them? No! If we were serious about trying to prevent deaths we would ban automobiles since 30,000 die in auto accidents every year, 5000 age 14 or under.

But we have seen that this country has degenerated so far that results no longer matter. Politicians have become very good at talking about the things they are doing as successful, even when they are the opposite, and the public is dopey enough to go along with them. The politicians are simply playing to the dopes who just reelected them.

#20, et al, the LPs (libtards/Progtards) don´t ´get it´ because they aren´t about security - Oh, I know they bleat that talking point constantly, about security, safety and ´for the children´, but they are actually all about power and control. They use any means to get power and control. The LPs (aka socialists/communists/fascists/ etc) can´t do what they want to do to us until we as a nation are disarmed. They will not stop trying to overthrow the constitution until the day they die. You can´t reason with them. You can´t trust them. You can only eradicate them. They are made up of foreign and domestic enemies of the constitution and this Republic.
BTW, burying weapons in the ground to hide them misses the point of having them. Hide them until what? The founders were quite clear about what true citizens of the Republic must do to those who pursue tyranny and seek to destroy the constitution. Those of you who think hiding weapons is the answer, I´d suggest you educate yourself by researching the writings and statements made by the founders of our Republic.
For the treasonous quislings who claim the citizenry can´t deal with a much smaller number of soldiers - the populace contains millions of veterans who still know how to shoot, execute small unit tactics, handle crew-served weapons platforms, execute strategic plans, and so forth. The quislings hope those hearing them can´t think and will give up hope.

What a maroon. Jeff cites two fine examples of disasters that provoked changes in the behavior of people who did wrong. Therefore, the logical conclusion to his Newtown disaster scenario would be to bring legislation and restriction against crazy people who want to kill others. Instead, he wants the equivalent of preventing nails from being pounded into wood by outlawing hammers.

I can live perfectly well without crazy people in my midst but don´t touch my weapons.

The American death was reported on Saturday, but details of the alleged civilian casualties only surfaced Sunday. Wasifullah Wasifi, spokesperson for the governor of Kunar province, said the strike

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Climate change is expanding sea ice in Antarctica, a paradoxical finding that appears to be the result of melting glaciers, according to a new study. As freshwater glaciers melt, cold water sinks into the ocean, keeping the sea colder than it would otherwise be. The fresh water is less dense than seawater, so it floats on the top layer of the ocean, which in turn stays cooler. That makes it easier for the seas to freeze again in the Antarctic fall and winter, scientists say. This negative feedback is expected to continue, they added. Sea ice levels
