| Multiple media sources are reporting that South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will indeed name Rep. Tim Scott to be the next senator from South Carolina. Scott will serve for two years, and then presumably run in a special election in 2014. If reelected, he would serve an additional two years (the remaining two years of the six-year term Jim DeMint was elected to in 2010) and then potentially run again for a full-six year term in 2016.

#8, Clyburn would never try to run in a statewide race. Outside of the low country, Clyburn is hated (and and embarrasment) in SC.
Tim Scott is a great pic. This shows that Niki is worried about the Tea Party support when she gets ready to run for re-eleciton and she better throw the Tea Part a bone.

I am just thrilled to pieces. Was so afraid she was going to pick Jenny Sanford since our newspaper was pushing Jenny. They hate Nikki. Soooo glad, now if the Floridians who cheated and pushed in the unknown candidate could be found out and Allen West´s seat returned to him, all will be great. Global PC shipments fell by 13.9 percent in the first quarter of 2013, and according to analyst firm IDC , Windows 8 could very well be the reason. Controversial gun legislation cleared a key Senate hurdle Thursday, as lawmakers voted 68-31 to start debate on the package which includes expanded background checks and new penalties for gun trafficking. Senate Democrats, joined by a few Republicans, were able to overcome an attempted filibuster by more than a dozen senators opposed to the current bill. Those senators could still slow-walk the debate, but the Senate will ultimately begin votes on amendments -- one of which is considered crucial to winning support for a final vote.
