Human remains found in Leicester car

The skeleton found in the resting place of Richard III has been confirmed as belonging to the king--but scientists are holding the news back for greater publicity, it has been claimed. The human remains were uncovered in September in what is now the car park of Leicester City Council’s social services department. Since then, a number of tests have been taking place to determine if the bones belong to the Plantagenet king, including DNA tests. But, according to The Daily Telegraph, even if long-awaited DNA results prove inconclusive, the archeologists will still announce that the remains belong to Richard III.

#1 & #2: LOL!

Although it´s just a reminder that it´s all about the "wow" factor that they´re waiting until the documentary is released to release their findings.

It reminds me of news stories on the cover of Time magazine that coincide with movie openings of Warner Bros. projects.

I love watching documentaries on old monarchies whether they be European or Egyptian. British TV has been more entertaining for me the past couple of years than anything that our own industry puts out. My local library has a great Brit TV selection for checking out.

As police and search crews scour the seas around Malaysia and Vietnam for missing jet MH370, a satellite company is letting web users around the world help in the hunt online. DigitalGlobe has spent the last five days uploading high-resolution satellite and aerial images to its Tomnod site that let people explore the seas for clues about the crash, as well signs of a wreckage or oil slick. Images are then tagged by users and analysed by experts before the most significant sightings are sent to the search teams in Asia. Tomnod user Mike Seberger tagged an image taken on

British Prime Minister David Cameron today made his first visit to Israel as prime minister, delivering an address to the Israeli parliament, the Knesset. Speaking to a fractured crowd following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu´s pushing through of three contentious bills, Cameron said that he "felt a connection with Israel" and said that Britain was integral in "securing a homeland for the Jewish people". Members of the Knesset shouted and heckled Netanyahu as he delivered a speech ahead of Cameron, who initially looked amused at the circumstances as one member was escorted from the chamber. Residents are feared trapped in a Manhattan apartment building that exploded this morning in the East Harlem neighborhood, killing one woman and injuring at least 16 others. A gas leak is suspected of causing the building on the corner of 116th Street and Park Avenue to burst into flames, as residents reported smelling a strange odor to ConEdison right before the blast. Those in the area reported hearing a loud boom and thick black smoke in the area a little after 9am, and some were even evacuated. Mount Sinai and Harlem hospitals have received 16 injured in the explosion so

A series of new eyewitnesses have told authorities in Malaysia that they saw Flight MH370 up to an hour after it disappeared from civilian radar screens--and in places which back up the theory that it made a U-turn. The development lends weight to the belief that the plane changed direction and may have plunged into the Strait of Malacca or the neighbouring Andaman Sea, where the search is now focused. Malaysian air force general Rodzali Daud said search and rescue efforts were now being expanded to the north of the Strait of Malacca, and that the possibility of a ´turn

At least one in every 20 prisoners is from the gipsy, Romany or traveller communities, a report reveals. With 4,276 prisoners in England and Wales being from these groups, they total 5 percent of the jail population. It means there are as many gipsies, Romany and travellers in our jails as there are women. The figures are higher among youth offenders. Around 12 percent of all inmates aged 12 to 18 in prisons known as Secure Training Centres are gipsies, Romany or travellers. As of March 1 about 4.2 million Americans had signed up for medical insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act, according to numbers released Tuesday by the Obama administration. But it remains unclear how many of those enrollees have put their money where their mouse is. Combined figures published by Obamacare marketplaces in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington indicate that just 79 percent of signups in those states have come with checks attached. If those numbers were to hold up nationally, it would mean that about 1.1 million Obamacare enrollees have selected insurance plans without paying
