Matt Damon: ´I Need
To Pay More Taxes´

NewsBusters, by Noel Sheppard

Why is it wealthy liberals don’t understand that if they want to pay more income taxes, they can each year on their 1040 form make an additional contribution to the federal government above and beyond what they owe? Consider the case of actor Matt Damon who on PBS’s Tavis Smiley Show Wednesday actually said, “I need to pay more taxes” (video follows with transcript and commentary): TAVIS SMILEY, HOST: Do you think that ultimately on the things that matter to you, the things that matter to me, that Obama as president

Then write the corrupt government a check if you feel so strongly about it!

My federal tax witholding will increase upwards of $200+ per month when the Bush tax cuts for the "rich" expire.

Note, I am not rich by any means.

Why doesn´t Mr. Damon just get rid of his expensive tax attorney, not take the "loophole" deductions, and pay the same percentages as those in the middle class - like me?

I think all liberal actors should have a tax rate of 75%. We can make it temporary and then watch to see if they want it to continue when it expires.

Seems I´ve read that Hollyweird has an exemption from many of the excise taxes the rest of us stupid sheep have to pay.

Maybe John Boehner can offer to tighten up that loophole and give Mr. Damon his wish.

Of course, the folks that will be hurt aren´t gonna be Mr. Damon and his pals. It´ll be the pool boy, the caterer, the chauffer, and the maid who will be let go when Matt and his buds decide to cut back since Uncle Sugar is taking a few more of their not-very-hard-earned bucks.

Then pay more. You have a few options available. 1)You can take the standard deduction and ignore anything that might reduce your tax burden. 2)You can take fewer deductions and pay as much more as you think you should. 3)you can just cut the Treasury a check for whatever additional amount makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Just quit trying to force me to pay more taxes. I already pay more taxes than any value I would ever receive from the federal government.

Here´s a list of "revenue enhancements" I´d support:

1. Aid to Recent Residents Accommodation (ARRA) tax on employers of undocumented laborers.
2. Cyber Democracy Project Tariff, (CyDeProTar) tax on internet campaign donations made by persons from outside the US.
3. Labor Inequality Equalization Act (LIEA) tax on union dues-- graduated by averaged salaries of members

4.Airwaves Open Frequency Act (AOFA) mandating that all Government funded media, excluding VOA, participate in an annual, week long telethon to retire the national debt.

5. Arts in Democracy Public Service Act (ADPSA)-- mandating that all actors and musical performers participate in the above or similar public appearance one day out of each year to raise money for the national debt.

6.Marital Discretionary Income Disparity Elimination Act(MaDIDEA)
a 5% tax on income of all gay couples who have no children requiring feeding, educating, clothing etc.

Immigration reform may be stalled in Congress, but a new Obama administration policy is extending legal status and military benefits to thousands of illegal immigrants who are the spouses, parents and children of American military members. Supporters say the policy -- which applies to active-duty military, reservists and veterans -- is long overdue. "Those veterans and those men and women who serve in the National Guard certainly deserve the peace of mind that their family members will not be deported," immigration attorney Faye Kolly said. But critics say the policy is tantamount to backdoor amnesty. "A whole class of aliens
