How about training and arming all teachers who feel the need ? Schools are the easiest targets when some whacko goes over the edge. As liberals most of those teachers have been taught to fear of guns but training can fix that. Another nice law would be to allow all veterans to carry weapons , and with no fee required. Watch your crime rate drop drastically.

Just like some of the readers have been talking abour racially profiling arab muslims at airport, we need to start racial profiling of young white males in their 20s-30s at all schools and malls.

Search Google for major shootings in the USA… search the shooters name…. there are wackos of every size, shape, color and ethnicity… The school shooters are almost all young white males in their 20’s-30s.

I believe in responsible gun ownership… but too many crazies out there and unfortunately you and I have to put up with the inconvenience …. Just my two cents.

Washington - House Speaker John Boehner says he´s sure Congress will look at a law passed by the D.C. Council that decriminalizes possession of less than one ounce of marijuana in the nation´s capital. When asked Wednesday, Boehner said he was unfamiliar with the law. Congress has the authority to invalidate local District of Columbia laws, but it hasn´t used that authority in more than 20 years. Mayor Vincent Gray intends to sign the bill. It would make possession of small amounts of pot a civil offense subject to a $25 fine. Smoking marijuana in public would still be a criminal offense.

As more of our children´s education moves online, there are increased opportunities for abusing the collection of their personal data. Last month, state Senate leader Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) introduced a bill that would help close a loophole in federal regulations — at least in California — in an effort to safeguard personal information of public school students. The potential privacy violations could be significant, and it makes sense for the Legislature to act now. Under the federal Family and Educational Rights Protection Act, schools that receive federal funding are rightly barred from making disclosures about students´ education records
