UAW chief admits some mistakes in
pushing Prop 2 despite Snyder´s
warnings

Detroit News, by Daniel Howes

On election night, Bob King knew what lay ahead. Last month´s rejection of Proposal 2 assured organized labor´s defeat this week in Michigan´s lopsided right-to-work battle, culminating a series of miscalculations by the United Auto Workers president and others. Barely a month after voters killed a proposed collective bargaining amendment to the state constitution, the right-to-work loss weakens his credibility with the union's major employers, imperils his membership and potentially slows the union's dues flow, say labor analysts and ranking auto industry execs familiar with the situation.

Comments:
Bob King did not read the tea leaves. I predict a transplant will open an assembly line in a city of Detroit brownfield.
S.E. Michigan is still a major nerve center in the auto industry, research and engineering abounds. Right to work is a godsend in Mi. Thank-you Gov. Synder and legislature.

Given the Hostess Bakers´ union and now the UAW, seems like the GOP has secretly been developing these union strategies for defeat, now that the Repubs burnished their record in Nov with the latest electoral disaster.

It´s hard to count how many times the article made sure to mention Bob King was speaking from Geneva, Switzerland. And doesn´t he look like he belongs in Switzerland more than Detroit. Sounds like he´s a far, far, far left commie who based his ideas of Republicans on the ones in DC - haha! Now if we can infiltrate DC with Republicans who know how to quietly get things done, we´ll all be better off.

It is not difficult to understand why the unions thought they could win in Nov. Just ram it down everyone. That is the message from the top. We hold the power, or we think we do, so fall in line. This is what we want for the selected few.... the rest of you just pay UP>

Non-reality-based structures, ideas and activities become unsustainable by the shear dead weight of their own foolishness.

Those who habitually deal in these fantasies are much abetted by all of the rhetorical devices which serve to prevent open and honest debate.

I would suggest that modern progressivism is a religion masquerading as a political party whereas Islam is a political party masquerading as a religion.

Both are equally dangerous.

Both treat those who come bearing hard questions as the enemy.

The reason the unions lost this battle is because they could not figure out how to stuff the ballot boxes for Prop 2 and the State Legislature only has a fixed number of ballots and they did not control them.
If they can´t cheat they can´t win anything. The lesson here is that all the Republicans have to do is stop the Democrats and there accomplices (the Unions) from cheating or expose them for the cheaters they are.

Next time a union bigwig wants to spew out points like ´we are for higher wages for our workers´ he had better check out the reasons given for the JFK airport security wanting to go out on strike and shut down an airport before Christmas. Sounds like the union guards aren´t even making minimum wage. How´s that possible Mr. King?

I am an AFP Tent Survivor. I was there when union terrorists tore down the tent.

The unions thought the could with prop 2 make union contracts the supreme law in Michigan. They failed badly and that is good.

Tuesday, union terrorists thought they could silence by terror opposition to Right To Work by destroying AFP´s tent. Well, the got the tent, but lost the war. Right To Work passed.

Now comes an even larger legal battle. Property was damaged and destroyed. People´s lives were put at risk. Police refused to come to our aid.

The terrorism and police refusal will be challenged in court. I hope we can send a clear message to unions to behave or face huge judgements.

This battle has only started. They have awakened a sleeping giant!

Someone explain to me why the union should automatically get a ´cut´ of every workers paycheck and exactly how that is ´progessive´.

May the UAW go the way of the United Steelworkers´ Union, which reacted to the collapse of the US Steel industry by going on strike.

There is a bubbling of unrest under the surface and it´s too bad the GOP can´t take advantage of it! Our school system has taught our kids that capitalism is a dirty word. However the reality is it´s just the word, not the ideals of freedom and free markets that our young skulls of mush disagree with. We need an articulate voice to teach them our conservative ways. Rush is right, true conservative when tried always succeeds.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.”

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — As many as 25 students at a Massachusetts school were denied lunch this week — with at least some forced to dump their food in the garbage — because they couldn´t pay, school officials and parents said. Outraged parents said some students at Coelho Middle School in Attleboro cried when they were told by a worker for the district´s food service provider they could not eat on Tuesday because they couldn´t pay or their pre-paid accounts were short on funds. The on-site director for the company, Whitsons Culinary Group of Islandia, N.Y., was placed on administrative leave by
