But the Post is as late to the Obama criticism game as the Democrats are to a balanced plan. But what else is new. If the media did their job of balanced reporting perhaps the idiots in DC would have been pressured to fess up before now. Is it only now dawning on the editors that Obama is crawfishing on cuts?

But they did have the room to accuse Republicans of slashing the poor.

The democrats need to have about 55% of Americans dependent on government-supplied income, (other than Social Security).

Their goal is to have a majority buy into the belief that voting democrat is easier than getting a job.

Democrats depend on subsidies, entitlements, bailouts, quid pro quo, etc to get elected (buying votes). They WILL NOT give that away and lose the leverage they have over the entitlement seeking voter who is enslaved by them.

Will Never Happen.

Democrats want to increase spending. The idea that they will reform entitlements is a joke.

For the middle class to pay more the people who now pay no federal income taxes must start paying. Unfortunately, many who should be middle class have accepted four year´s worth of unemployment compensation. They would have to get jobs. Firms with job openings are refusing to even interview anyone who does not presently have a job. So, all those people have boxed themselves in and can´t get out. Then, there are those who have run out of unemployment compensation and have opted for disability, which is easy to fake. They are boxed in. Older people who might have retired and given their jobs over to someone else now have to keep working.

To compound the problem, the government is anti business, anti energy, pro union, and in favor of our paying taxes to the United Nations to create one world government.

Does this sound like a prescription for prosperity?

Serious spending cuts or no deal!!!

I think #5 has hit on a point that the pols are trying desparately to avoid acknowledging and that is that sooner or later, to get the revenue DC wants, the takers are going to have to ´get some skin in the game´ as our dear leader has said in the past. But the uproar would be so deafening from that group it would probably blow out the windows in the capitol buildings.

The takers are going to get a rude shock come Jan 15. Earned income credits will be gone. So will the Emergency Extensions of Unemployment benefits. Withholding for FICA will return from its holiday. And some may get a pink slip notifying them that due to Sequestration, they will lose their job in the Defense Industry. But they should be happy because for every 9 dollars they raise from the non-rich, the rich will pay a dollar.
