Soros-Backed Sandy Benefit
Washington Free Beacon, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 12/13/2012 12:04:09 PM

The 12-12-12 concert for Hurricane Sandy relief features performances by Sir Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, and Kanye West. The concert will benefit the Robin Hood Foundation, which has received at least $50 million from George Soros. Soros is the organizer of the shadowy Democracy Alliance. The group has a history of funding controversial programs. The Robin Hood Foundation made a $40,000 grant for a needle exchange program for drug addicts in 1993. More recently, the foundation was caught investing charity dollars into its donors’ and members’ hedge funds.

Comments:
That´s certainly comforting to learn. s/o No area of this society is spared from the anti-American, vile Soros. You can be sure that no conservatives will benefit from this money. This is the entire article.

The performers could have been from a nursing home. It was on something like 3 zillion stations as I went through the channels, and each time I watched for 15 seconds, felt embarrassed, and moved on (isn´t "moving on" what the Soros group wants me to do?).

Obama has more or less said that the Federal Government was the only entity that´s needed for help or charity.

Bearing that in mind I am helping him out by not sending anything to Sandy victims. NY and NJ went heavily for Obama and more government so they rely on those for any help.

I´ve decided not to contribute to these types of events, particularly in the blue, liberal areas of the country.

They want gov´t, well, they can get the gov´t to help.

Good luck with that too. After all, most gov´t is intended to be a middle-class job for someone not to actually help others.

Chamber prods GOP on debt ceiling
The Hill [Washington, DC], by Kevin Bogardus    Original Article

The nation’s main business lobby on Monday called on the House to raise the debt ceiling, increasing pressure on Republicans to move a bill forward. The letter to lawmakers calls on the House to pass a “timely increase” to the debt limit, which had been suspended until Friday. The government´s debt is above $17 trillion. The Treasury Department has set a Feb. 27 deadline for raising the limit, arguing it might not be able to pay all U.S. obligations at that time. The chamber’s chief lobbyist, Bruce Josten, wrote that raising the debt limit would eliminate the threat of default and allow credit

Liberal groups are agitating for another round of filibuster reform, after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) controversial triggering of the nuclear option last year has done little to alleviate Senate gridlock. A coalition of labor and liberal groups have pressed Reid to make additional changes to the Senate rules this year, something that senior Democratic aides say is very possible. “We strongly urge Majority Leader Reid and Chairman [Patrick] Leahy [D-Vt.] to consider reforms to floor and committee rules that will hasten the confirmation of President Obama’s talented and qualified set of nominees,” they said in a statement. The coalition, known as

The “myRA” plan Obama unveiled in his State of the Union address would also be outlawed in the private finance world because it offers no investment diversification and amounts to a conflict of interest, violations that call for fines up to $100,000 and up to a year in prison. “If private sector plan sponsors offered this plan to their

SAN ANTONIO — We recommend incumbent John Cornyn for the GOP´s U.S. Senate nomination, based on unmatched experience and decades of service to Texas. The theme among a bevy of challengers seems to be that Cornyn is a CINO, a conservative in name only. This is not just counter-intuitive but counter-factual. Various ratings — liberal and conservative — have agreed on one thing, Cornyn´s conservative credentials are genuine. Not conservative? Cornyn is No. 2 in Senate leadership and diverged only slightly from the conservative playbook in a year in which he offered a measure that would further beef up security at the

The memo’s subject was “Research on Hillary Clinton.” Voters admired the strength of the Arkansas first couple, the pollsters wrote. However, “they also fear that only someone too politically ambitious, too strong, and too ruthless could survive such controversy so well.” Their conclusion: “What voters find slick in Bill Clinton, they find ruthless in Hillary.” The full memo is one of many previously unpublished documents contained in the archive of one of Hillary Clinton’s best friends and advisers, documents that
