NEW YORK- The Americans are bringing back Tom Watson as their Ryder Cup captain with hopes of ending two decades of losing in Europe. The PGA of America announced Watson´s selection Thursday morning on the "Today." Watson, an eight-time major champion and one of the most respected figures in golf, will be 65 when the 2014 Ryder Cup is played at Gleneagles in Scotland. That will make him the oldest captain in Ryder Cup history. He also is the first repeat captain for the U.S. team since Jack Nicklaus in 1987.

So having Watson as captain will make the Americans better golfers? They didn´t play as well this year because of the captain? What is it, some kind of magic?

Why not. It might break up the bad Ryder Cup pattern for USA. I like Watson. When he came out of Stanford he was a big lib. Guess what? He abruptly switched parties.

Maybe he will put his team together and have them play together like the Olympic Basketball team. He could see who compliments each other in their game.

Six hundred workers are processing government pension papers in an underground bunker entirely by hand in a staggering example of state inefficiency that is costing taxpayers millions. Staff at what has been dubbed the ‘Crazy Cave’ take up to 61 days just to deal with one single case because of the archaic process that is the same speed as 37 years ago. Each file is sent in on paper, entered into a computer, printed out on paper - and then put back into a computer again. Bosses have been asking for things to be automated since 1979 but nothing has

In response to Michelle Obama: My Husband and I Welcome ´Criticism´ from ´Media´ and ´Our Fellow Americans´: Uh-huh. They sure have a strange way of showing their "welcome." The IRS is now in the process of codifying the rules they used to illegally target conservative 501 (C) (4) groups. This president has been at war with Fox News since the early days of his administration, and has called out Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity by name. This is the president of "Fight the

Elle Magazine published a story titled ´Meet the 10 Most Powerful Women in D.C.´ this month, but the piece only includes one right-leaning woman. It´s not clear why a fashion magazine believes it is qualified to determine who are the "powerful woman" in politics, since I sure don´t look for fashion advice from political publications. Alas, one thing we know for certain is that media has an ironclad sense of self importance. Senator Susan Collins is the lone GOPer who made the cut, according to Elle. She looks fantastic in her photo shoot, as do all the women in Elle´s

Four years of Obamacare have produced health insurance for just 1.4% of uninsured Americans.According to CNBC, of the 5 million people the Obama administration claims have enrolled in Obamacare, just 715,000 are previously uninsured Americans who have chosen and paid for new insurance. As the Washington Post notes, there are 48.6 million uninsured Americans. That means that after four years of being the law of the land, Obamacare--whose purported purpose was to cover the uninsured--has provided coverage for just 1.4% of uninsured Americans. Indeed, the vast majority of those who have signed up for Obamacare are merely Americans who already

Dozens of responders joined a fast-growing containment effort that will kick into higher gear as the sun rises. "This is an extremely serious spill," Cpt. Brian Penoyer of the U.S. Coast Guard. "It is a persistent oil." Workers surrounded the damaged barge with a 600-foot containment boom Saturday night. They also laid a protective boom at the ecologically-critical Big Reef

The appellate court order came Saturday afternoon, after Michigan officials had issued at least 322 marriage licenses to gays and lesbians who jumped at the chance to be among the first same-sex couples in the state to wed. County clerks in four of Michigan’s 83 counties called in staff on a weekend to mark the short-lived (for now) historic shift in Michigan. In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population. The odds are probably better than even that you will be annoyed by that. Which is fine. I accept that response.
