| In a huge win for gun-rights groups, a divided federal appeals court in Chicago Tuesday tossed the state’s ban on carrying concealed weapons and gave Illinois’ Legislature 180 days to craft a law legalizing concealed carry.

Immediate bias, first sentence.
´Gun-rights groups´ represented the PEOPLE, but the PEOPLE won i.e. their rights were upheld.
Note that courts ruling in favor of gay marriage are rarely described as ruling in favor of gay-rights groups - instead, it´s a victory for all LGBTQXYZRST persons.

Whack! Take THAT UN, Liberals. Agenda 21 still orbits though and coming up for yet another vote in March. Obama contacted the UN right after his, ahem, victory and said he wants to readdress the issue. Dick Morris has a petition circulating, again if anyone is interested. Some things just won´t flush. It´s seems to be a lifetime of whack a mole.

I had a pistol permit issued by NYS when I lived in upstate ny (but the permit was not valid in NYC) and it took me 6 months to get the permit, had to submit three personal references, all of whom were interviewed by the local police.
And each time I purchased or sold a pistol, it was back to city hall to stand in line to get an amendment to my permit.
I expect Illinois to come up with at least a complicated system as New York State, and probably moreso.
It will take another round of court cases, I would guess, to implement anything.

They have to come up with a bill in 180 days or Illinois reverts to Constitutional Carry. I haven´t seen a evaluation on how the elections affect the eternal struggle for gun rights in this state, but if the ruling stands Madigan & Co are gonna have to compromise if they don´t want Constitutional Carry in IL.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.
