Auto Bailout Loss Could

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Seton Motley

Original Article

Courtesy of the $83 billion auto bailout - on which we are already poised to lose more than $40 billion - the taxpayers are stuck with 26% stock ownership of General Motors (GM). It could get much worse. Judge Set to Rule on Case That Could Reverse Auto Bailout A New York federal judge may rule imminently on a case that could reverse the General Motors bailout and send the company back into bankruptcy.... At issue is a backroom deal hatched by GM to fulfill the Obama administration’s demand for a quick bankruptcy, draining

Comments:
We all knew this wouldn´t end well. No wonder this country is going bankrupt. The waste of taxpayer money is reprehensible.

Obama flouted bankruptcy law in this deal and was unconcerned about the effects of such perfidy. The new GM is doing many things correctly, but there is a bar sinister on its coat of arms - its provenance at the hand of The Won.
As to the Spyker suit, I believe the new GM may win on that one. GM opposed a Chinese takeover of Spyker-owned Saab in order to protect intellectual property which the Chinese wanted to get on the cheap and despite GM´s opposition.

Number 11. Dogdoo seemed quite acceptable to 51% of the voters. This is no longer a question of waiting for the next election cycle. The problems are deeper, more fundamental. We seem all too accepting of waste, fraud, incompetence, lies, corruption and dissipation. This is just the latest version of it.

What comes next? Don´t know, but preparing for the worst can´t hurt.

Obama Exploits Grieving Sand

On Saturday, President Obama handed over the camera and teleprompter to the mother of a victim of Sandy Hook Elementary shooter Adam Lanza. Explaining his exploitative choice via email to his entire WhiteHouse.gov email list, Obama explained: Each week, like many presidents before me, I sit down to record a short address to the nation. It´s something I take very seriously because it offers a chance to bring focus to an issue that needs to be part of the national dialogue. But today, I´ve asked someone to take my place.

"Comprehensive immigration reform" is shaping up to be the next Obamacare. By negotiating in secret, by drafting an enormously complicated bill, and by rushing passage with almost no time for public debate, the Senators who are pushing immigration reform are following the same path that divided the nation in 2009-10 and led to one of the worst expansions of federal regulation, spending and power in American history. Though they may have the best of intentions as regards the underlying result, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and his colleagues in the

Neither have ever served in public office. Cain — the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza — ran for president as a Republican in 2012. In any case, I sometimes used to show students in my classes on the American Founding the early scene from “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World” where the whole gang tries to deliberate about how to divide the loot fairly when they finally got to the site where the loot was hidden, and how it could illustrate . . . the “great compromise” of the constitutional convention of 1787 in Philadelphia.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.
