Obama: Look at Michigan
to See How Unions Built
America´s Middle Class

Cybercast News Service, by Fred Lucas

Original Article

Speaking at the Daimler Detroit Diesel Plant in Redford, Mich., on Monday, President Barack Obama lashed out at the Michigan legislature, which is preparing to pass a right-to-work law, and declared that Americans only needed to look at Michigan if they wanted to see how unions helped build the middle class. “These so called right to work laws, they don’t have to do with economics,” Obama said. "They have everything to do with politics. "What they’re really talking about is giving you the right to work for less money," said Obama.

This fool is absolutely incapable of telling the truth.

Yes, thanks to the unions Michigan is a dump. However, I do believe that union officials are living quite well.

I well remember Gov Granholm screeching that she did not want to see a budget without tax increases. She swore she would not sign a budget without increases.

We see how well that worked out. No doubt the failures were all because of Bush.

And that´s where Obama stops. He could benefit from looking at how those same unions subsequently pushed their advantage further to then undermine the middle class they helped build.

While unions had place 40-60 years ago, most of the labor laws and statutes are in-place to protect workers now.

You don´t need a union to protect your work conditions or negotiate your pay and benefits package.

And no where should an automatic deduction of the union dues be made.
Let the union set up staff to obtain those union dues, collect them, deposit them, etc... Free state resources MUST stop.

In my previous and now defunct business I had to deal with the unions. What a bunch of thugs! They aren´t that wonderful to their members either - especially ones who get late on their bribes....err...dues. Far as I´m concerned it´s racketeering.

Long story but I now work somewhere else - no unions involved and a much happier life for me.

President Obama will discuss climate change in an upcoming Showtime documentary series produced by James Cameron. Mashable reports the segment with Obama will offer an exclusive understanding of the president´s thoughts on climate science and policy. Showtime taped the interview last week, individuals close to the documentary "Years of Living Dangerously" said. The series premieres April 13. This will be the first interview Obama has given solely on climate change since announcing his administration´s climate agenda last year. Cameron´s documentary focuses on the scientific aspects of multiple climate change threats. The project, funded in part by Cameron´s Avatar Alliance Foundation, was filmed in a

But the team studying its orbit around the sun colloquially refer to the planet as just "VP" or "Biden," after the sitting vice president. The object won´t carry an official title until scientists collect more data. After determining its orbit, they´ll submit a formal name to the International Astronomical Union (IAU) for consideration. At the California Republican Party’s convention earlier this month, chairman Jim Brulte announced 2014 would be the year of “pushing the party outside of its comfort zone,” and introduced four candidates vying to take on incumbent Gov. Two Boston firefighters were killed Wednesday in a fire that ripped through a brownstone in a densely-populated neighborhood, a city councilor says. The fire started shortly before 3 p.m. in the four-story building in the city´s Back Bay area. Smoke and flames fanned by strong winds poured from the roof and windows for hours. Councilor Josh Zakim, who represents the area, confirmed the firefighters´ deaths. Details of how the firefighters died weren’t immediately available, The Boston Globe reported. But some firefighters had been trapped in the burning building’s basement, officials said. The Boston Police Patrolman´s Association tweeted condolences to the Boston Fire Department early

A federal appeals court on Tuesday ruled that Kansas can strip two Planned Parenthood clinics of federal family planning money while the organization moves forward with its legal challenge of a state law it says is retaliation for its advocacy of abortion rights. Kansas is among several conservative states that have sought in recent years to strip Planned Parenthood of funding. At issue in Tuesday´s ruling is money distributed to states under Title X, a federally financed family planning program. The Title X money targets low-income individuals seeking reproductive services such as birth control, pregnancy testing, cancer screenings and treatment for

Since the start of the year, when it at last became clear that an ill-designed website was merely the least of Obamacare´s problems, Democrats have been on a search for a plausible villain on whom this sad state of affairs can be blamed. E.J. Dionne blames Republican nastiness, but he blames this for everything. Alec MacGillis at the New Republic blames Republican governors who rejected the expansion of Medicare: "Obamacare is hurting Democratic candidates because Republicans are hurting Obamacare," runs his article´s headline. The role of Russian forces, in his telling, was simply that of peacekeeper. “You may say that [Yanukovych] was thrown out of office for good reason. There are allegations against him that he was
