There´s already not much reason to keep the Pubbies around. I´m tired of being taken for granted as nothing more than a fundraising tool. As best as I can tell there are the Demoncrats and the Demoncrat-lite. The days of Reagan and conservative values in the GOP are GONE. Anyone who would consider "moving more to the middle" (IOW, being more like the Dems) to simply win elections misses the point - if we win, what have we gained? Bragging rights? It´s about principles not a lack of them. I´d just as soon the GOP be out of power and wandering in the desert so they can learn that we already know.

Like many on this site, I used to believe the two parties were democrat and democrat-lite. Now I believe we have communists, and nascent Euro-socialists.

Neither party has a principled position when you have allowed annual $1 trillion deficits and have accumulated $16 trillion in debt.

The Dimms have a temporary tactical advantage because of the bush rates expiring in a few weeks. Deal with and dont be stupid.

Frankly I do not gives a rats arse whether tax rates temporily go marginally higher. The government needs more of our money only because of the outrageous government spending that both parties abide.

If the Repugs want to ever again regain credibility they need to take a moral stand on deficit spending during the upcoming debt ceiling negotiations.

The last thing we could look to Pubbies for was an unwavering stand to keep Democrats from raising taxes, regulating middle class businesses to extinction and small government. W was such a big government guy that we lost that issue. Now if (and it´s just a matter of time) our leaders raise taxes for WHATEVER reason, there is no need to support Republicans.

The people who run this "administration" are not so much politicians as idealists. They are relentless, remorseless, and dedicated to total victory, which means the figurative (and in some historical periods) annihilation of their enemies.

The repubs need a SIMPLE plan:
No tax changes for the "rich"
10% tax cut for other taxpayers
Eliminate negative taxes (tax credits)

Lawn Chair Johnny Boehner needs to call Bush 41 and ask what happens when you fold on a tax pledge.
Each day we will be a little less prosperous and a little less free than the day before and the RINOs are not going to anything to stop it.

It has taken the last six years, and especially the last 4, for me to wake up to fact that the Republican Party and its leaders are LOSERS. Not since Reagan have we had someone who cared about the people of America and America´s future. The curent leadership will sell us out to save themselves and the supposed deep bench we have will not win in 2016. I am finished with them and so is everyone I know. Good riddance.

Obama WANTS to go over "the cliff".

ALL rates will rise and the Dems will then offer legislation to LOWER taxes for everyone under $250,000.

The GOP will be forced to vote for it and the Dems get to be the party of lower taxes.

And just why is this a Republican problem? Why must we keep hearing questions posed from the left?

Obama is marching toward the world he imagines. It is not an idealistic world in which people have an opportunity to fulfill their dreams. It is a world ordered by ´scientific´ social structure.

Obama does not consider himself to be the president of all of the people. They are not his concern. He will pat them on the head like a man pats a dog who is about to be put down, but without real compassion (see ´Sandy´ people).

I´ve already written Boehner and asked him to step aside because he cannot communicate the problem effectively.

I also got a notice that only 16 more votes are needed to replace him. I want my guy to do it.

Newt Gingrich´s list of five things that the R´s need to do to combat the problems of the next four years. He is right.

R´s have to change the narrative and use the appropriations power that they have. They ought to be able to change the subject to spending just as 0b0zo changes every subject to the mean Republicans and tax increases.

So, what will Obama do if he gets 8 days worth of increased taxes from the top 2%?

How will that solve the trillion dollar deficits under Obama?

And how bad is this economy when over $1 trillion more in spending is taking place and it´s limping along?

How we became a country that has had no budget and therefore no accountability for the past 4 years is beyond my ability to comprehend. That it wasn´t mentioned and hammered every single day in the recent presidential campaign is amazing. Debt limit increases without a budget are irresponsible and without real world analogs.

Boehner needs to call Obama´s bluff. Obama raised a billion dollars+ in the election,there´s a lot of fat cats waiting on their reward money they can´t get without House approval.

Even if Boehner struck a deal with Obama,he still has to get his folks to vote for it.Then it has to go through the senate grinder and back again.

They´re not going to get a big deal done by the end of the year,so my guess is you´ll see a couple month extension of the current situation.

We can now officially call them Cavemen, so anxious is the GOP to cave and grovel before His Majesty.

The worst part is not understanding the intentions of the Democrats. Or, if some in the GOP actually do understand those bad intentions, never calling them out and exposing them. Bad only grows where it is allowed to grow. The GOP has had its chances, over and over and over, yet still acts clueless. That´s what happens when you buy into the lie that Democrats want to "help people" and, more insidious, that "helping people" is the purpose of your party, too. That´s a cave-in already, at the very root of it.

The rest is silence.

Each and every nickel to be gained by raising rates has already been spent by the demonrats. NONE of it will go to paying down the debt. By the time the bozo finally has to leave office, the US debt clock will read $30 trillion and counting. The real debt of $100+ trillion from unfunded entitlements will still be hidden.
