Karl Rove won’t surrender race card
Salon, by David Sirota

Lee Atwater’s claim to fame was his pioneering use of racially divisive imagery in political messages that, superficially, didn’t seem to be about race at all. The most infamous examples, of course, were Atwater ads like the “Revolving Door” and the Willie Horton spots. Under the guise of a color-blind message about criminal justice, those spots homed in on African-American criminals in a deliberate effort to stoke racial fears among whites. In employing such a formula, the ads embodied the now-standard dog-whistle tactic for racial messaging —

This guy is another racist liberal who sees everything through a racial lens. That´s what racism is, and liberals epitomize it.

How is it possible to discuss anything with people who already know that you are evil and hateful and that you speak in secret codes that hide your hatefulness under what appear on the surface to be normal and acceptable words and phrases ?

Do people really have to be tricked into liberty and prosperity ?

Who are the deceivers here ?

After the most racially divisive campaign in history, won by someone who´s only skill appears to be dividing and sub dividing various groups against one another, we have to listen to this ????

Karl Rove is a class act and without peer when it comes to intelligence and contribution to a rapidly rotting TV channel. I not only strongly support him, the only time I´ll tune in to a Fox program is if I stumble on info that tells me he´ll be on. When he finishes, I tune out immediately.

Incidentally, if Ailes and FOX they finish off Karl Rove, any remaining interest...and there is very little remaining...to tune in FOX will be gone for good. I´ve already reached the point where I only listen to Bret Baier and I also tune him out if Juan Williams, Kristen, Mara, and the other super lefties are on the panel. That´s it. My lack of interest/respect in FOX only intensified when I read about Ailes decision governing Karl Rove. Who in the world does he/they they think they are?

After this past election, I determined there IS a list of racially charged "code words."

We all need to get a copy and avoid using any of those words.

You can find this volume under the title: "Webster´s Unabridged Collegiate Dictionary." Buy the biggest, thickest one you can find, because it will have all of them. Start at A, end at Z.

The Atwater quote has been selectively truncated to make it seem like he was saying almost the opposite of what he was really saying. The full quote in context is burried in the Wikipedia discussion page because it damages the left-wing Narrative. See the full quote in context here (down the page a bit):

Way back in 1988 I was pretty liberal politically. At the time, and now, I never saw Willie Horton as a racist ad unless facts are racist (they aren´t). At the time, I cringed when I saw the ad because I knew it was effective. If the perpetrator had been a grungy tattooed caucasian biker it would have been effective too. That just isn´t who Willie Horton happened to be.

If you don´t want facts used against you, you should prevent the facts from becoming facts. Screaming racism when YOU (Dukakis in this case) gave the other side the facts they needed is something only emotionally emasculated people do.

Had my then-current preference prevailed, it´s likely that Kuwait would be a part of Iraq today, Saddam Hussein´s Iraq would be competing with Iran for nuclear weapons, and Bin Laden would have come up with a different excuse for September 11 but it or something like it still would have happened.

I´m glad that my voting preference in 1988 wasn´t what prevailed, so I´m glad for the Willie Horton ads.

Bizarre, illogical rant misquoting Attwood. So,an ad mentioning that the president wants to raise taxes is racist because the president is half black, regardless that it is true.

HuH?

#9: I heard about Willie Horton and it was an effective story. I didn´t even know he was black upon hearing the story and noting that Dukakis was a loser as far as public safety went.

So, yeah, maybe his picture is skeevy, but the story is true. And a picture of a nasty looking *insert other race here* would have been just as effective.

Peeling back the curtain hiding the incestuous relationship between the mainstream media and the White House, Arizona reporter Catherine Anaya revealed that “President Obama´s press secretary, Jay Carney, receives questions from the press in advance of his daily press briefing.” She found it very interesting that Mr. Carney “knows what he´s going to be answering and sometimes those correspondents and reporters also have those answers printed in front of them, because of course it helps when they´re producing their reports for later on.” This is not surprising. Russell Crowe stars in Darren Aronofsky´s Bible-based epic. Darren Aronofsky wrestles one of scripture´s most primal stories to the ground and extracts something vital and audacious, while also pushing some aggressive environmentalism, in Noah. Whereas for a century most Hollywood filmmakers have tread carefully and respectfully when tackling biblical topics in big-budget epics aimed at a mass audience, Aronofsky has been daring, digging deep to develop a bold interpretation of a tale which, in the original, offers a lot of room for speculation and invention. The narrative of the global flood that wiped out almost all earthly life is the original

MOSCOW — There is no need for Russia to further retaliate against U.S. sanctions, President Vladimir Putin said Friday as Russia´s upper house of parliament endorsed the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine. Moscow made its first retaliatory shot on Thursday by banning nine U.S. officials and lawmakers from entering Russia, but Putin indicated that Russia would likely refrain from curtailing cooperation in areas such as Afghanistan. Moscow appears to hope to limit the damage from the latest U.S. and EU sanctions and avoid further Western blows.

The study, titled "College Blackout," argues that the proposed system, the Student Unit Recording System, would allow a more nuanced approach to studying the value of higher education. This requires knowing the life story of every student and tracking information like income after college and major simultaneously. The data already exists, the study argues, though
