Gingrich: If Hillary Clinton Runs In 2016, Current GOP ‘Incapable Of Competing’

| Newt Gingrich told David Gregory on Sunday’s Meet The Press “the Republican party of today is incapable of competing” with a 2016 presidential run by Hillary Clinton. Gingrich thinks “every Republican” should be focused on 2016 because of the severity of their defeat in 2012. Gingrich said that if Clinton were to run in four years, “supported by Bill Clinton and presumably a still relatively popular President Barack Obama, trying to win that will be, truly, the Super Bowl.”

Comments: Thank you, Newt. Now go away.

Umm, just when we thought experience was important, 2008 came along. Then when we thought that zero accomplishments and the baggage of running the economy into the ground would do the trick 2012 got here. I don´t want the Hillbag anywhere near the White House, but the fact remains that this is now a very different country and we have to learn how to re-take the office.

"The Republican party of today" will not exist in 2016.

1. I agree with Newt. 2. #3, from your lips.
I hope that either the tea party emerges as the genuine choice for Americans by the next election, or that the GOP gets a thorough housecleaning of all the progressive plants and democrat wannabes.

Not a tough call. If Karl Marx runs in 2016 the GOP cant compete. They proved it in 2012.

Silliness. Most of Obama´s female vote comes from women who are, uh, "excited" in the nether parts by His Majesty (bad boy syndrome, perhaps). I´d bet that percentage is at least 96%. Hillary´s visage, on the other hand, repels red-blooded males like a tsunami of pepper spray. The only men who´d possibly vote for that walking insult to feminine charm are men who, uh, aren´t men.
No threat in 2016. The GOP will be incapable of competing only if it keeps caving in to the Obamas and Clintons of the world.

Newt, of whom the Clinton machine made mincemeat of during their day. It looks like they still scare him to death. Our first enemy is the MSM in this country that covered our primaries in the most negative fashion and then did 90% + negative stories on Romney. Add to that the massive voter fraud in this country and you have not even touched a real conservative issue, The country is dying or dead due to people who are God-less and worship "things" like Obama and Obamacare, welfare, etc. This is where we start.

There is a proof of the pudding coming before 2016. It is the 2014 elections. Will they be a repeat of 2010 or 2012? That will give the answer to the real question Newt has raised.

Let´s see. In 2008 the gop ran a candidate with a questionable history of where he was born, against obama. In 2012 the gop ran a candidate who had signed (not authored)romneycare against obamacare obama. You mean to tell me that somewhere in the ranks of the gop stable, they can´t find a skank who ONLY does the bidding of powerful men? I´m sure they will find the perfect candidate.

In our brain dead hip society, by 2016 half of the people of voting age will not remember the Clinton years. I doubt Bill Clinton who will be around 70 will make any 20 somethings swoon and Hillary will also be around 70. I doubt there is a makeover anywhere that could make the hag look even remotely attractive.

As to poster #6, Romney won the male voter....it was the young ´ens and the free birth control and the Hispanics and Asians that lost the race, and nothing is being done to either court or educate them....at least without destroying all our ethics and principles. (Forget the Blacks--they largely seem to knee jerk to another 1/2 Black no matter WHAT he does, and that goes for Colin Powell as well.)

Can´t stand Newt but this time, for the first time in years, he´s correct. The sooner the party´s leaders get together and cobble together a platform that reflects we are living in the 21st century and tells those who don´t agree to form their own theocratic party, the better. Otherwise it´s doomed.

Unfortunately for my optimism levels, I have the same dreadful feeling that Hillary will be our next president. Makes me throw up in my mouth. The GOP is so weak that Boehner is getting ready to give Obama what he wants with higher tax rates. The idiot public will only see that the Annointed One runs the country without any help from Congress once again and be thrilled. Won´t matter what Boehner gets in return...

I do not pretend to know who will run next election for the prez - I do know that Newt is a sleazebag that I do not want to listen to or see. I would have trusted Mitt with my life and the country´s health. The Republican party needs to have people voting despite their like or dislike of the candidate. The country cannot stand much more of the dim rule and spending. Even if it meant voting for newt - not even he would destroy us.

I totally agree except that Dems play dirty so win, while Repubs cave every chance they get so they can be "liked" too. W fell prey to that syndrome in his second term and was giving entitlements away in a failed attempt to get some appreciation from the lefties. How many times do you see his great work for AIDs victims be mentioned? Ask a Dem who gave them prescrition coverage to see how well that worked out. Ask a Dem who voted for civil rights legislation. Only thing they know is that JFK sent the Guard in to integrate the school that the Dem governor was blocking, so voila! A Dem president integrated schools!

We have about 2 years before the next crop of GOP contenders start getting serious. Hope it´s Rubio.

The GOP is finished at the national level through a combination of illegal immigration, demographics, and Free Stuff. The Presidency should be written off, let the establishment run their RINOs, and concentrate on efforts to promote de facto secession through governors refusing federal directives. The Supreme Court doesn´t have an army, and federal judges should simply be ignored.

Newt was corrupt morally. He had no way of winning against Clinton. This holds true of Justice Roberts, who must have a huge secret. Anytime Obama takes on one of the Repubs you can be sure he has the dirt. I had hoped Romney´s clean character would prevail but he lacked one thing: guts and passion. He had ambition and integrity and know how...but so what if you can´t out gun your enemy.

The quasi-official ideology of the U.S. armed forces holds that generals are virtually interchangeable, that individual personalities don’t matter much, that ordinary grunts are in any case more important than their leaders, and that what really counts are larger systems that make a complex bureaucracy function. There is some truth to all of this. But for all of the bureaucratic heft of the services and the heroism of ordinary soldiers, it is hard to imagine the Civil War having been won without Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan—or World War II without Marshall, Eisenhower, Patton, Bradley, Arnold, LeMay, Nimitz, Halsey,

Last August a 28-year-old gay-rights volunteer named Floyd Corkins entered the office lobby of the Family Research Council (FRC), a Christian traditional-values group headquartered in Washington that condemns homosexual conduct and opposes same-sex marriage. Corkins took a gun from his backpack and fired three shots at building manager Leo Johnson, one of them wounding the unarmed Johnson in the arm before he wrested the gun from Corkins. On February 6 Corkins pleaded guilty to three felonies: committing an act of terrorism while armed, interstate transportation of a firearm and ammunition

FORT WORTH -- For 21/2 years, Germain Gardea kept his wives in the dark. The 38-year-old flight instructor spent weekdays in Arlington with his first wife, Jennifer Saldivar, and their young son. On weekends, he left town for his job as an instructor at a flight school, residing in Grapevine with his second wife, Leslie Gardea, who traveled during the week. To keep the women from finding out about each other, he created fake divorce documents on the Internet and filed his first wife´s taxes, marking her as single without her knowledge. But the deception came crashing down in May after Leslie Gardea

In a letter to John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, and Jeff Flake, the four Judiciary Committee members express concern that an immigration reform bill will be rushed through Congress without proper oversight in the form of hearings and robust debate. The Supreme Court could soon end one of the federal government´s most archaic practices. Since the 1930s, the Agriculture Department has turned California raisin growers into pawns of its Raisin Administrative Committee, which can commandeer up to half of the farmer´s crop and then pay them little or nothing for the product. Marvin Horne, a 67-year-old raisin farmer in Fresno, Calif., was fined almost $700,000 for refusing to surrender control of much of his harvest to the government committee in 2002. There are many who scoff at Andrew Cuomo’s chances in a presidential primary campaign, but I am not among them. His name is an iconic Democratic brand, he’s forceful on the stump and a prodigious fund-raiser. Besides, somebody has to win the nomination. Of course, there are hurdles. Saint Hillary is gearing up to run, and there will be a scrum among contenders, probably including Vice President Joe Biden, competing just to be Clinton’s top rival. The scenario, then, is daunting but doable — or at least it was,

Neither — it´s the story told by a 1622 shipwreck whose treasures were desperately needed to shore up the finances of the struggling Spanish Empire. The galleon Buen Jesus y Nuestra Senora del Rosario was one of 28 ships in the Tierra Firme fleet; all were sailing from the New World back to Spain, laden with colonial treasures,

Historian James Thomas Flexner referred to George Washington as "the indispensable man." Americans all know he was a general, but have you ever wondered what grade of general? How many stars did Gen. Washington have? In today´s Army, a one-star general is a brigadier; two stars is a major general; three stars is a lieutenant general; four stars is just plain general. During World War II, Congress created the five-star general, the modern rank of general of the Army. There had been an earlier grade that was called general of the Army,

Because the F.B.I. is investigating Eric Murdock, the whistleblowing former assistant coach, for extortion. University officials let it slip to The New York Times´ Steve Eder that Federal Bureau of Investigation officers recently visited the campus and met with athletic director Tim Pernetti sometime before Pernetti was fired on Friday. They´re trying to determine whether or not Murdock, the former director of player development,

Imagine the pitch to a History Channel executive for the smash hit The Bible. Here’s one scenario: Producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett: “Hi, we want to produce a story that appeals to all age groups. It’s has everything: love, lust, greed, war, self-sacrifice and redemption. It’s called ‘The Bible.’” Executive: “Could you repeat that? You said ‘The Bible’?” RD and MB: “Yes – we want to retell the Bible for this generation. And we think we can make money doing it. We’ve done a lot of market research —there is no competition out there.”

Since the Shermans of General Patton´s Third Army crossed the Rhine on March 22, 1945, there have been American tanks in Germany. No more, as John Vandiver of Stars and Stripes reports. The U.S. Army’s 69-year history of basing main battle tanks on German soil quietly ended last month when 22 Abrams tanks, a main feature of armored combat units throughout the Cold War, embarked for the U.S. The departure of the last M-1 Abrams tanks coincides with the inactivation of two of the Army’s Germany-based heavy brigades.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. However, the Miami Herald said Washington has issued special licenses for
