Study: Obama Won Swing
States Thanks to Irreligious Voters

According to new studies, President Obama’s electoral victory in the 2012 election cycle was greatly helped by his massive victory with a previously unnoticed voting bloc: the irreligious. While statisticians focus on the impact of the Hispanic vote in swing states, it turns out that those who do not attend church and consider themselves religiously unaffiliated broke huge for President Obama in the swing states. Iowa pollster J. Ann Selzer pointed out: In Ohio, Obama lost the Protestant vote by 3 points and the Catholic vote by 11, but he won the "nones" — 12 percent of the state's electorate — by

Irreligious? looks to me as if they are plenty religious - more specifically, charter members of the First Church of Obama.

They are not "Irreligious", it´s just that Obama is their God and they voted for him. It´s that simple.

The Non-religious are 15% of Americans, and 1/3 of those aged 30 and under (recent stats, will find link if asked). Many of them are perfectly conservative in outlook. It is up to the GOP to be more welcoming of them and win general elections.

The dRATS continue to want to glorify all that is irrelevant and a sub-species to stick to the GOP. If the Republicans go off message to bring voters it, they will expect to have sway with the platform, which will dilute it. this has been the problem.

The old guards have become moderates and RINOs to keep their sway within the inside beltway crowd. But most of US live outside that small realm and they are not listening to those that elected them.

OK, here is one link: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2012/10/09/non_religious_americans_
now_one_fifth_of_the_population_according_to_pew_survey_.html

From the linked article: the group´s preferences on government size and role actually largely mirror the breakdown of the general population: 50 percent of the unaffiliated would prefer a smaller government, compared to 52 percent of the general population.

If republicans were more welcoming of people of different inclinations, they would be winning half the irreligious voters, half the gays, etc..

This is a rarity. Please split a long, continuous link if you submit one in a reply. LCom Staff.

You have to face the fact that a large number of people who voted, or who did not vote this time around, would never cast a vote for a Mormon. Especially a Mormon that the liberal Democrats effectively defined as not at all being like the average American, and who did not effectively refute the outrageous liberal Democrat attacks on his character and reputation. Even though of the two candidates, in reality, it is Obama who is definitely not like the average American. So now the country as Obama and his progressive policies for another four years.

The GOP needs to go more to the Left so they can pick up the atheist and the gays. If they go a lil more they can pick up some of the Socialist party. Even more Left will get them the support of Iran, China and Russia. Wow, I think I have discovered a winning platform.

The national polling seems to bear this out. Mitt Romney held or increased Bush 2004 percentages among all religious groups except two: Hispanic Catholics and Mormons, both of which decreased significantly. Meanwhile, Romney´s numbers among the non-religious fell five percentage points. I point this out because any anti-Mormon sentiments did not affect Protestants and evangelicals, who stayed strong for Romney

However, the agency said no checks of those passport numbers were made by any country between the time they were entered into Interpol’s database and the time that Flight MH370 departed Kuala Lumpur early Saturday. “Whilst it is too soon

The most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing. Rarely do incidents happen when a plane is cruising seven miles above the earth. So the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines jet well into its flight Saturday morning over the South China Sea has led aviation experts to assume that whatever happened was quick and left the pilots no time to place a distress call. (Snip) The problem had to be big enough, he said, to stop the plane´s transponder from broadcasting its location, although the transponder can be purposely shut off from the cockpit.
