| Illinois state senator Donne Trotter has gotten himself into a hole and can´t seem to stop digging. You see, the good senator is an advocate of harsh gun control measures, and is an important co-sponsor of Governor Pat Quinn´s latest bill banning "assault weapons" and large capacity clips. But on Wednesday, the solon got himself arrested at O´Hare airport for carrying a concealed handgun in his carry-on luggage. After spending a night as a guest of the Chicago Police Department, Senator Trotter got himself bailed out Thursday

If the author doesn’t know a clip from a magazine, he shouldn’t be writing about guns. If the editor is similarly ignorant he too should be in another line of work.

This is typical democRAT, lieberal, progressive, left-wing thinking. Guns are ok for them but not for the great unwashed. They are capable but we are not. They are smart but we are stupid. Don´t you just love the democRAT leaders of our cities and country. They know how to handle guns, we are to stupid to know how. I despise the democRATS and their way of thinking. This is why our cities are in the contition that they are in. DemocRAT control.

They are always telling us to ´´bend over and take it´´. I sure hope he has a nice big cell-mate who teaches him the true meaning of that expression...

That´s how you know their party, #8. If it was a conservative or republican, it would be mentioned in the first paragraph, or even the first sentence. The article wasn´t long enough to state the guy´s party; it usually takes about 43 paragraphs to mention he´s a dem.

Kinda missing the point there #8, but I did find this for ya at the bottom of the article.
"Politically speaking, Trotter´s problem is timing. His next court appearance is Wednesday, December 12. The Democrats meet to decide which candidate they will endorse on December 15.
If Trotter continues to seek the endorsement, he´ll do it for the time being as an accused felon.
Now that we know he is a Dem, can we go back to talking about the hypocracy of the situation?

1. Writing about firearms 2. Voting on laws about firearms 3. Owning firearms

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

What Americans say in public about same-sex marriage isn´t necessarily a good barometer of public opinion, because, if we´re going to be honest, there´s a huge discrepancy between the opinions that Americans express in polls and the opinions they express at the polls.(snip)It´s important for Americans to understand that the same-sex marriage campaign is about the disenfranchisement of dissenters, not empowerment. The protests, the social media memes, the entire agenda is about demonizing opponents of same-sex marriage

Before America embarks on changing the concept of marriage, I hope they will at least agree on examining cultures that do not define marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. In their eagerness to achieve their goals, the pro gay marriage enthusiasts are marching towards what they perceive as progress and modernity while ignoring lessons from other cultures, history, basic human nature and the horrific and negative unintended consequences of redefining "marriage". Islam´s definition of marriage is one man and up to four women

During the highly publicized exchange between Bill O´Reilly and Laura Ingraham on gay marriage, O´Reilly made this statement: "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, ´I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.´ You don´t win a policy debate in America with that." Really? Before central control out of Washington was imposed in 2003, policy arguments for criminalizing homosexual acts were won explicitly "with that." And because of "that," the idea of gay marriage has been unthinkable throughout the history of the American nation.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

During his two day flurry of fundraising in Northern California, the President of the United States took it upon himself (and allow to be released to the public - not all of his fundraising comments make it to the masses) to praise the attractiveness of Kamala Harris, California Attorney General (snip) The remark, predictably, generated a little of what Allahpundit called a ´Blue on blue food fight." I suspect that was the intention. The president´s image as a manly man took a beating when he missed 20 of 22 basketball shots, all recorded on video.

We have already seen Peak Obama; from here on, it´s going to get rougher and rougher for Barack Obama. Even worse, the one word he must fear the most has just been uttered by a man regarded as a bit of a truth-teller among liberal elites. Joe Klein, the celebrated author "Anonymous," who wrote the best selling, truth-telling book Primary Colors about the 1992 primary campaign that brought us President Bill Clinton, has made it ok for liberals to apply the word "incompetence" to the Obama administration. This represents something of a breakthrough. Until now, it has been taboo

The CEO of Starbucks basically told a shareholder that if the shareholder believes in traditional marriage he should dump his Starbucks stock. Historically the job of the CEO has been to make money and increase shareholder value. It would seem telling people who don´t share the CEO´s personal beliefs, whether it´s gay marriage or abortion, to dump the companies stock is not a pro-shareholder action. This is another example of the liberal belief that everything belongs to liberals because they´re just so darn much smarter than the rest of us

News is breaking out all over: global warming stopped 20 years ago. A political earthquake has resulted from a feature story in the Economist magazine because the Economist used to be a consistent cheerleader for global warming activism. Doubts about global warming used to be censored by its London editors, one reporter confided to Stephen Hayward. So what will voters do to Democrat candidates in 2014 and 2016 when the former realize that the Democratic Party was lying to them? Is it time to run away from the issue for Democrats, journalists, and Hollywood personalities?

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

As we reported this weekend, liberals have been seething over the inclusion of the chained CPI in Obama´s budget, which they see as a huge betrayal by the Democratic president. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion. "The politics has been relentless and that continues," Sebelius said. "There was some hope that once the Supreme Court ruled in July, and then once an election occurred there would be a sense that, ´This is the law of the land, let´s get on board, let´s make this work.´"

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
