DeMint takes parting shot at Boehner
The Hill, by Jonathan Easley

Original Article

Posted By:vastrightwingconspirator, 12/6/2012 11:50:16 PM

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who shocked Washington on Thursday with the announcement that he would resign his Senate seat in January to become president of the the Heritage Foundation, sent a parting shot at Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) over the “fiscal cliff” negotiations. “I’m not with Boehner,” DeMint said on CNN’s "The Situation Room." “This government doesn’t need any more money, this country needs less government.” (Snip) “Speaker Boehner’s $800 billion tax hike will destroy American jobs and allow politicians in Washington to spend even more, while not reducing our $16 trillion debt by a single penny,”

I thought DeMint summed it up - in 2012 the Federal Government is going to take in more revenue than before - but spending is going up even more - the deficit is not a lack of revenue but too much spending. Gov Haley appoint a young black conservative to be the only black Senator in the US!

Boehner is just following orders from the GOP old guard. Unfortunately, many are progressives. Clearly orders are to flush Tea Partiers.... OK fine!

Hopefully DeMint will help set up a 3rd party...The Freedom Party... with a very simple mission statement... Follow the Constitution.

The same posters who like Boehner like Romney, Rove et al. We have a ton of Republicans who are no better than the Dems. DeMint and Palin are two of the few principled political leaders left. Naturally, moderates, elites, cc repubs, rino´s whatever they are..will not like either of them because they threaten their status quo.

Sarah Palin is keeping up the infomercial peddler charge against President Barack Obama, criticizing his “ShamWow” speech in Boston and accusing him of lying to the American people. (Snip) “For starters we anticipated a presidential apology for lying to Americans repeatedly when he promised things like, ‘If you like your current health care plan, you can keep it.’ Make no mistake, he knew he was lying when he said that,” Palin wrote. “Was remorse and sympathy shown for Americans who now can’t afford health insurance thanks to Obamacare? Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she would be "disappointed" in the American electorate if Hillary Clinton becomes a serious candidate for president in 2016. The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee argued Clinton would not be right for the role as commander in chief after four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, died last year in a terrorist attack against a U.S. consulate in Benghazi. (Snip) She said "anyone who would just throw away 200 years of military ethos and leave our men behind to be murdered" should "never be considered as a commander in chief."

Americans who are fed up with Obamacare won a victory yesterday. The House voted to defund Obamacare while still funding the federal government to avoid a “devastating” shutdown. (I shall not digress, but it’s beyond distressing to hear liberals try to convince Americans that any government slowdown is comparable to “terrorism.”) (Snip) I want no pity. I need no empathy. But use me as a barometer. Over the years, the leftwing media has falsely and irrationally accused me of everything from faking a pregnancy to abetting murder. They lie. Deal with it.

It was an overcast, albeit relatively mild August day by Washington D.C. standards, fifty years ago today, as I joined the thousands walking along Constitution Avenue toward the Lincoln Memorial. Many of those in the crowd who had traveled vast distances by busses and cars from all over the nation, but in particular the deep South, had a look of apprehension bordering on fear, not knowing what to expect from the police and those vehemently opposed to unfettered civil rights. Despite the trepidation and regardless of skin color, nationality or faith all were determined to compel the nation to listen

Others to include: obviously her husband, Todd; and Franklin Graham, Christian evangelist; Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kansas Gov. Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The Obama administration touted 7 million sign-ups by March 31 as “success.” When that goal appeared to be unreachable, the administration suggested that maybe 5 or 6 million would be enough. Now, as if by magic, they have their number. Somehow. All along, the administration has touted false numbers of enrollees. All along, the administration has neglected to admit that Obamacare is

A few months back, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated for the record that 7 million Obamacare sign-ups by the end of March would constitute success. She was clear about it. But then February came, and February always stinks. It’s just a lousy month. You’re tired of winter, you’re still miles away from spring, and no one was signing up for Obamacare. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
