Actually, yes it is a tradition you blithering moron! It was introduced in the United States about 110 years ago. The Constitution guarantees "Freedom of Religion", not "Freedom From Religion". If people want to have a Christmas Tree, let them. If Jews want to have a Menorah, let them. Out country is founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and traditions. If you want to have a "Holiday Tree", call it what ever you want, although exactly what holiday you are celebrating is questionable.

Oooooh! Hey, this is actually GOOD news! We´ll be decorating our Holiday Tree soon and now that I know it´s NOT a Christmas Tree, I think we´ll keep it up until Memorial Day, another holi--ooops! I mean, another Notable Secular Event Day!

It´s not a Chanukah bush, a maypole, the Muzlim aren´t singing carols, and no one is hugging the tree.

Matter of a fact, Christmas is so commercialized, there isn´t much religious connatation since the angel has been replaced by bows and glitz.

After Christmas, recycle that evergreen where the sun won´t materialize any time soon.
