Detroit councilwoman
to Obama: We voted for
you, now bail us out

WJBK-TV [Detroit, MI], by Staff

DETROIT -- The city of Detroit faces a major financial crisis and one member of city council thinks President Barack Obama should step in and help. City Council member JoAnn Watson said Tuesday he citizens support of Obama in last month´s election was enough reason for the president to bailout the struggling the city. (Click the video player to listen) "Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you ought to exercise leadership on that," said Watson. "Of course, not just that, but why not?"

Comments:
She perfectly exemplifies why we are now in the disastrous economic condition we are in. This was going on long before 0bama was elected but now it is ramped up to the max because they all see him as their savior. They expect the taxpayers to bail them out when their wreckless, irresponsible behavior is the cause of their problems.

She obviously does not understand how this works. You voted for him, that was your duty to him. His duty to you is to be himself. If that includes bailing you out, then you owe him an additional debt of gratitude (and possibly support for some other agenda item you might otherwise oppose).

Does the city councilwoman really not understand how government works?!?

She´s a CITY councilwoman... She chartered by her STATE, not the federal government!

Well done, #3.

Also, #5, Obama will bail out blue States and union-intensive States. The rest can go scratch.

Remember his words, "We will punish our enemies and reward our friends"? He´ll bail out ANY city or district with a hand out and a majority Democrat voter registration.

But we´re toast anyway unless we rely on divine intervention. God is plenty cheesed off at America for tossing Him out of our lives and out of our public square. If He does decide to send us a rescuer or if He does decide to show us how to get out of Mordor, we are doomed, Gollums all.

Very typical Dem pol. So entrenched in the democrat political machine she doesn´t even know that her "qui pro quo" request is a violation of federal election law. This is how the idiot left thinks. Elections are not for public servants, they are for Santa Clause. The corolary to this is that those who voted against the winning (leftist) candidate should be punished for their vote. Also a violation of federal election law.

This disgusting belief system is why Wildfires in LA and Boulder recieve instantaneous disaster aid and equally horrendous wildfires in Texas recieve nothing.

Every elected state office in Michigan is a Republican, the state Supreme Court is a four three conservative ratio, and both the Semite and House are controlled by Republicans. The reason for this is the blacks in Detroit are either to stupid or lazy or both to vote in off year elections.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
