Obama to stress need to raise
debt limit "without drama"

Reuters, by Mark Felsenthal

Original Article

Posted By:athina, 12/5/2012 9:32:54 AM

President Barack Obama will renew his case for tax hikes on wealthy Americans to avert a year-end fiscal crunch and call for a smooth increase in the nation´s borrowing limit in a speech to a business group on Wednesday, a White House official said. The president is embarked on an aggressive campaign to pressure congressional Republicans to compromise on steps to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff. He will argue to corporate executives that it would hurt the nation´s economy to have another protracted political fight over raising the debt limit, the official said.

Spending our once great republic into oblivion rates quite a bit of "drama" in my opinion. We are witnessing the dismantling of the last best hope of mankind by unscrupulous, cravan Marxists, led by the Anti-Christ in the White House.

Don´t increase spending. Cut spending by 20%. With a copy of last year´s actual expenditures and a few boxes of black Sharpies and a small room in which to work, I can do it in a few weeks.

Lede should read ´without the constitutional rule to do so only by Congress and the House in particular´. This would be dictatorical and it seems that this is his and the leftists aim. Who needs control of Congress to do anything that he wants? The Republicans and any thinking citizen should be shouting the Constitution loud and clear.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro today signed a measure that removes a 3.75 percent sales tax on residential energy sources in Dutchess County. "We have listened to our constituents and now keep our promise to repeal this tax upon receipt of aid from Albany," Molinaro said in a statement. The Dutchess County Legislature voted unanimously Monday night to repeal the sales tax, which was imposed last year in order to make up a budget shortfall. The vote, coming barely a month after the tax went into effect, was spurred by strong condemnation from the public, and by $5.25 million in

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal Monday from a studio that refused to photograph a lesbian couple´s commitment ceremony, letting stand a New Mexico high court ruling that helped spur a national debate over gay rights and religious freedom. The justices left in place a unanimous state Supreme Court ruling last year that said Elane Photography violated New Mexico´s Human Rights Act by refusing to photograph the same-sex ceremony "in the same way as if it had refused to photograph a wedding between people of different races."

The Birmingham school at the centre of an alleged campaign of “Islamisation” by Muslim radicals is to be placed in “special measures” by the Government’s education watchdog in a move that could see its head teacher and governors removed. Park View, previously rated “outstanding” by Ofsted, will be downgraded to “inadequate”, the lowest possible score, in the category of leadership and management, senior education sources said. This enables Ofsted to place the school in special measures, allowing the watchdog, if it wishes, to remove the school’s entire leadership. The move, described as “seismic” by senior educational

The fourth person to head the Department of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, is the only one who watched firsthand as terrorists struck New York. “Like millions of others that day,” Johnson told the U.S. Conference of Mayors recently, “I was shocked, I was devastated, I wanted to do something.” The opportunity came in 2009, when President Obama asked him to be the Pentagon’s general counsel, supervising 10,000 lawyers and delivering advice to Defense Secretary Robert Gates on every major military operation — including the high-risk mission that ended Osama Bin Laden’s life.

Opponents of the Senate Gang of Eight legislation have long been wary of the House leadership’s intentions with respect to immigration reform. They are perhaps even more skeptical now that proponents are already downplaying the odds of success. House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), one of the most prominent GOP advocates for comprehensive immigration reform, told ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos on Sunday that reform’s prospects were “clearly in doubt.” Opponents of comprehensive reform say they have reason to suspect a ruse. For example, the fate of the Gang of Eight legislation was frequently called into question, even though

ALBANY — New York’s ban on assault weapons is constitutional, but the state’s gun control law cannot limit a magazine to seven bullets, a federal court judge ruled Tuesday. The ruling by Chief U.S. District Judge William Skretny in Buffalo found New York’s law, called the SAFE Act, doesn’t infringe on Second Amendment rights. But the judge tossed a provision that allows only seven bullets in a magazine, saying the number is “arbitrary.” “This court finds that the challenged provisions of the SAFE Act — including the act’s definition and regulation of assault weapons and its ban on large-capacity magazines

The group revealed they asked A&E for such meetings after it suspended Robertson for making what were deemed to be anti-gay comments in a GQ magazine interview. One week after a federal judge in Utah held laws against polygamy are unconstitutional, another Utah federal judge has held that the U.S. Constitution also contains a right to same-sex marriage, describing laws defining marriage as between men and women “irrational.” In his 53-page opinion for Kitchen v. He noted that in its 1967 case Loving v. Virginia, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down as a violation of the Fourteenth Amendment a Virginia law

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'
