| The number of terrorist attacks each year has more than quadrupled in the decade since 9/11, according to a study launched today. The Global Terrorist Index showed that in 2002 there were 982 separate attacks. By 2011 that had risen to 4,564. Researchers suggest the U.S. military interventions pursued as part of the West´s anti-al Qaeda ´war on terror´ may have made terrorism worse. It also said it was impossible to prove whether the policy made the U.S homeland safer. Despite the increase in attacks in the past ten years, the number of deaths in terrorists attacks has fallen.

While facts may be facts in viewing raw data, the conclusions may not be similar. A liberal newspaper in the UK wants to say that our foray into the Middle East has no relationship [to this point] as to why we haven´t ourselves suffered another terrorist attack on American soil. The Military sadly will, [being in Harm´s Way] because that mostly the only means that the cowardly Muslims can inflict causalities and make this paper´s daily press.

Yes.
Because it was misframed from the start.
"Terror" is a concept. You can´t war against a concept.
Now a War on TerrorISTS--wherever they are found and with everything we´ve got--that would have shown the world we were serious. But... too late now.

Whether the War on Terror has failed depends on where you stand. If you look upon the ´War´ on ´Terror´ as a straw-man for something from which you stand to profit a great deal, then it´s been a rousing success...kind of like the ´War on Drugs´ has been. You don´t actually think the War in Afghanistan was about bin Laden, do you? It was always about protecting the poppy fields for the drug trade.

Who was protecting poppy raising? We spent a lot of money trying to stamp out the growing of poppies and getting the farmers to grow food instead.
And, yes, the war on terror has failed because we won´t admit that we are at war with the Muslim religion. It can´t exist in peace with any other religion and needs to be stamped out.

The "War on Terror" can be nothing but a war against Islam and Muslims. Unfortunately, the administration and Congress are so PC oriented and terrified of being labeled racist that are useless in protecting Americans at home or abroad.
And, the fact that they do not profile screen on the airlines and opt to harass old ladies, the infirmed and infants is a sickening example of how PC has eroded our stature around the world. It is a glaring sign of enormous weakness, and the terrorists know this. BO has made the US the laughingstock of the world.

#3 - "Terror is a concept." America is a concept. America´s a country, and "country" is a concept. With few exceptions, every word denotes at least one concept.
World War II was against two concepts, Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. We used concepts like tanks - without the concept "tank," it´s just tons of metal - to defeat their concepts.
The concept that "terror is a concept and war cannot be waged on a concept" is a terrorist weapon.

New Orleans - Louisiana lawmakers on Tuesday questioned the wisdom of eliminating the state´s income tax without raising sales taxes, one day after Governor Bobby Jindal said he would delay his plan to scrap the income tax. Bahrain on Tuesday became the first Arab country to blacklist Hizbullah as a terrorist organization, the Al Arabiya network reports. The move came a week after the Bahraini parliament voted to label the group a terrorist organization. Its alleged backing and training of radical Shiite groups against Bahrain was the main reason given for the decision, the report said. The Bahraini cabinet has tasked the interior and foreign ministries with implementing the decision. “The measure is to protect Bahrain’s security and stability from Hezbollah’s threats,” Bahraini MP Adil al-Asoumi told Al Arabiya.

The biggest border crossing between North Korea and China has been closed to tourist groups, a Chinese official says, as nuclear tensions mounted, but business travel was allowed to continue. "Travel agencies are not allowed to take tourist groups to go there, since the North Korean government is now asking foreign people to leave," the official at the Dandong Border Office said. Wyoming Republican Sen. Mike Enzi may be gearing up to run for re-election in 2014, but that doesn’t mean Liz Cheney is ruling out a run for the Senate seat now. A source close to the politically active daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney tells The Daily Caller that she is still seriously considering running. North Korea appears to be preparing a fourth underground nuclear weapons test at Punggye-ri, the site of its previous test, a South Korean government source says. In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources.
