Who’s the Ideologue?
Obama or the GOP?

Commentary Magazine, by Jonathan S. Tobin

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 12/4/2012 10:55:50 PM

The budget standoff between the White House and House Republicans appears to be getting worse. President Obama has now flatly rejected the GOP proposal for revenue increases and spending cuts. His reason: any revenue increase that does not include a tax increase for the wealthy is unacceptable. The president believes the purpose of the tax code and, indeed, the only reason to prolong the fiscal crisis, is to punish the rich even though doing so does little to balance the budget. Moreover, he clings to this position even though the GOP has offered alternative methods for raising revenue.

Comments:
While John Boehner removes key conservative "Tea Party" House members to put in his "good old boys," 0bama plays a different game. 0bama is our "Yasser Arafat" when negotiating. No matter what the GOP would offer 0bama, he will move the goalposts to keep this future economic collapse as a weapon against US, like immigration.

So, GOP, give him all he wants and let the dRATS who lead US over the "fiscal cliff" be our cushion when we hit bottom.

Obama will do whatever it takes to avoid getting a deal. If the gop agrees to everything Obama wants, he will move the goal posts because he knows he can lay the blame on the gop. This isn´t about solving the problem at hand, this is about crushing the gop

Write a very simple bill. Spending at 1990´s levels. This includes welfare. which means returning to the welfare reforms signed in to law by Billy boy Clinton.

Only tax increases will be for the Buffet-teers. These are the people who say they want to pay higher taxes and thinks they ought to. They fall in to the category below:

the, YOU GO FIRST tax plan. ALL those in favor of increasing taxes MUST pay them. This includes Hollywood, fashion industry, sports, anyone who has agitated for higher taxes. And we will be quite appreciative. We know who you are!

Austerity measures for all governmental agencies, buildings, functions, appurtenances. All wages and salaries and benefits back to 1990s. This will help to bring Washington back to reality, back to the way "Main Street" has been living these past 4 years.

This is for starters.

But pass it in the House. Make a big annoucement. Explain it to the people. Send copies to everyone, like the Contract with America. Then let´s see what the Senate does.

And BO. Because he really ought not go on that 4 million dollar vacation.

Nice piece, Tobin. Too bad nobody in the Leftstream Media seems interested in reporting anything at odds with Obama´s vision or his self-styled image as the flexible and reasonable one in these standoffs.

I remember a time when McNeil/Lehrer News Hour actually was worth watching. Now PBS might as well stand for Propaganda-Belching Socialists.

OMG. This is a hair´s breadth away from a direct call for the proletariat to overthrow the bourgeoisie in a glorious socialist revolution. The kind of class hatred Obama needs to generate to justify his "tax cuts for the rich". OMG - they´re actually starting to admit who they are.

I would like to know how BO determined that $250,000 per year income is considered "rich" to be taxed more?

If a family of four lives in CA or the Northeast, that $250,000 is not going to go very far, espeicially families who have children in college and those that have to finance their own health insurance.

Worse this higher tax will have a devestating impact on small-business owners and family farms.

Is there no one on Capital hill who knows basic math, economic theory and application and tax concepts?

Washington - Two years into a civil war that shows no signs of ending, the Obama administration is considering resettling refugees who have fled Syria, part of an international effort that could bring thousands of Syrians to American cities and towns. Seoul, South Korea — North and South Korea agreed Monday to hold high-level government talks later this week to discuss reversing not only the recent suspension of their joint operation of an industrial complex in a Northern border town, but also other economic and humanitarian projects that faltered years ago amid tensions built by North Korean nuclear tests, international sanctions and threats of war. The directive--number 20--was issued in October 2012 but never published. According to the 18 page document: Offensive Cyber Effects Operations (OCEO) can offer unique and unconventional capabilities to advance US national objectives around the world with little or no warning to the adversary or target and with potential effects ranging from subtle to severely damaging.

For several months, the Benghazi scandal lay dormant, apparently forgiven and forgotten. Then, inexplicably, it reared its ugly head when Congressmen Ron Johnson and Jason Chaffetz smelled Obama´s blood in the water. After feigning affliction with the flu, and then ostensibly tumbling down a carpeted stairwell resulting in an unconfirmed concussion, then-Secretary of State Clinton was finally forced to testify before Congress. One of the more effective arguments used by those arguing for same-sex marriage and sexual orientation anti-discrimination laws is that homosexuals have no choice in the matter -- that sexual orientation is something that you are born with, and you can´t change it. The claim is that this is a natural part of human variability, no different from skin color or hair color or how tall you are.
