| Conservative Republican Reps. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Justin Amash of Michigan hit back at Republican leadership on Tuesday, following their Monday removal from prominent committees, calling the move “petty” and “vindictive,” and accusing Speaker of the House John Boehner and his deputies of silencing independent conservative voices in preparation to steamroll a tax hike through Congress. Huelskamp — who was removed from the Agriculture and Budget Committees — released a video on Friday declaring his intention to not vote for any tax increases and received notice of his removal on Monday, “one business day” later.

Well, duh. What did y´all think was gonna happen? (Y´all being anyone of anywhere near a conservative outlook.) Boehner and McConnell are go-along-to-get-along politicians. And they will go along with the liberals in order to get along with them on with their cushy cocktail and golfing outing circuit.

If every conservative made sure to take another conservative to vote in 2014 ...
... we could end all this nonsense.
That´s all it takes.
Do the same in 2016 and it will all be better.
Start making your plans NOW.

"Republican" and "conservative" used to be fairly synonymous but such is no longer the case. Face it, there is no party currently that can be called conservative, only remnants within the Republican party. If those people who make up the remnant would simply split away and declare themselves members of a new Conservative Party they might get something going, although by the time they got really organized it would probably be too late to save the Republic itself.

It wouldn´t work, #3. Over the decades, we´ve seen scores of congressmen and senators voted in because of their conservative stances only to discover that their conservativeness disappears after only a short time in Washington. Apparently, these freshmen are sent directly to congressional boot camp where the DIs explain to them just how they are going to behave as long as they´re in the capitol. Ditto of SCOTUS newbies.

Seems dumb of Boehner to do it now. Opinions may vary, politics is an art not a science.
Why not after he fights the fiscal cliff battle with Obama? There will be plenty of time.
Purging now would seem to divide the GOP. And when the new Congress convenes the committee assignments are made again.

I have been saying to do a cliff dive. Hell, do a triple somersault dive off the cliff.
However, that will only work if the Left are honest brokers (hah!). I firmly believe 0bama and the Dems will do the tax hike and slash DoD and ignore the part about the cut in "entitlements". And Boehner will do nothing about it but roll over and ask Barry to rub his belly.

But it will be a short term victory for him. His actions will lead to a democrat majority in 2014.
That will really make him cry.

A Michigan high school canceled a speech by former Sen. Rick Santorum after teachers became outraged over his opposition to gay marriage and threatened to stage protests and a possible work stoppage. Santorum had been invited to deliver a upcoming speech on leadership by the Young Americans for Freedom chapter at Gross Pointe South High School. But the speech was canceled on Monday after the school district’s superintendent heard from angry teachers. “It’s a sad day when liberal educators are allowed to influence young minds – extending free speech rights only to those who share their liberal views,” Santorum said

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

President Obama´s push to pass stricter gun control laws will cost Democrats in the 2014 midterm elections, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Wednesday. "I think the president has shown he is willing to demagogue an issue and that it is ultimately going to backfire," Cruz said in an interview on Laura Ingraham´s radio show. Cruz´s comments come as Congress debates passing a set of gun control measures meant to reduce gun violence and prevent shooting massacres similar to the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

During Barack Obama´s presidency there have been 32 background checks for gun purchases every minute. Since February of 2009, the first full month of Obama´s presidency, there have been 70,291,049 background checks for gun purchases, according to data released by the FBI. Using February 1, 2009 as our starting date, and March 31, 2013 as our end date, (the latest data from the FBI) Obama has been president for 1,520 days. That equates to 36,480 hours, or 2,188,800 minutes. Divide the 70,291,049 background checks by 2,188,800 minutes and you get approximately 32 checks for gun purchases every minute!

As he rolls out his fiscal 2014 budget on Wednesday, a new survey finds that Americans haven’t felt this confident about President Obama’s handling of the economy since his first year in office. The Gallup poll, which sampled more than 1,000 Americans, found that 57 percent say they have a “great deal or a fair amount of confidence” in Mr. Obama to do the right thing on the economy. That’s up from just 50 percent last year and hasn’t been this high since it hit 71 percent in 2008. Trust in congressional Republicans, on the other hand, remains low.

The media is all abuzz with Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy these days: she fat? Should she really be wearing leather pants while pregnant? What is that cape-like thing she wore the other week? Is she lying about her delivery date? Is she lying about her pregnancy? Why did she wear that dress that made people compare her to an orca whale? All of these are very valid questions, but bring to light another issue: Isn’t there some one else who’s also pregnant right now? Some one who is substantially more important than Kim Kardashian?

Campus Reform broke the story and confirmed that officials at the public, taxpayer-supported school launched an investigation after receiving a student’s official complaint last week. According to the complaint, the professor, Jennifer Yucus, required students to produce posters in opposition to certain gun-friendly legislation currently making its way through the Texas state legislature.

MSNBC host Touré founded a student newspaper dedicated to black liberation theology while he was a college student attending Emory University from 1989 to 1992. Touré’s flagship publication, The Fire This Time, lavished praise on famous anti-Semites, black supremacists, and conspiracy theorists whom Touré helped bring to campus. Before he became an intense-but-sardonic TV personality, Touré also decried “the suffocating white community” and defended a nationally famous fake hate crime. In an interview with The Daily Caller, Touré described the newspaper as “an important black voice on campus” and “a form of community building.”

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion. "The politics has been relentless and that continues," Sebelius said. "There was some hope that once the Supreme Court ruled in July, and then once an election occurred there would be a sense that, ´This is the law of the land, let´s get on board, let´s make this work.´"
