Donations to Obama from faculty,
staff, at Catholic colleges
outpaced those to Romney

Daily Caller, by Caroline May

The vast majority of faculty and staff members from the nation’s top Catholic universities donated to President Barack Obama’s campaign over Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s this cycle, according to a new report. Ninety-one percent of the employees at 23 different Catholic schools gave to Obama, according to Federal Elections Commission data available on OpenSecrets.org and analysed by the conservative college site Campus Reform. Much has been made of Obama’s Affordable Care Act mandate requiring employers to provide contraception coverage, a requirement that church officials say conflicts with Catholic religious doctrine,

Good article. thanks for posting. it seems to back up what we have seen happening to us. The Catholics Colleges in America are still promoting social justice against the specific directions of the Pope. Georgetown, Notre Dame , Seattle U and some others are definitely not good choices anymore. There are other Jesuit institutions that still offer well rounded quality education. As a parent , I am glad to be almost done with this worry. Glad none of them Majored in worthless Resentment Studies. They also will pay back their loans because it is the right thing to do.

The Catholic bishops should review these lists and purge those who supported Obama. I think the church needs to get tough on people like Biden and Pelosi who are "faux" Catholics. I would excommunicate the two of them as an example of a new "get tough" policy.

What happened to Lucianne´s order for civil respect in her salon, not a saloon? All Catholics did not vote or contribute to the horrible forces that put Obama in a second term. Unfortunately, as another poster has pointed out, liberalism is a religion unto itself and it trumps traditional religion. Not all the employees in Catholic institutions are Catholic and some who are can be referred to as "Cafeteria Catholics". Its just like the Jews who vote for Zippy even though he has been openly hostile to Israel.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
