Obama Wants a War
American Thinker, by Christopher Chantrill

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 12/4/2012 6:58:11 AM

Conservatives seem to be nonplussed about President Obama sending Treasury Secretary Geithner to Capitol Hill without a proposal for a grand bargain on entitlements. But why? Worrying about debt and default and entitlements is for the responsible people. Responsibility is for the people who believe in the "responsible self," the notion developed a couple of millennia ago during the Axial Age. Responsibility is for the bourgeoisie. President Obama is above all that. Liberal politics in general is above all that. Their politics is about war, not about nice comfortable entitlements.

A lot of it has to do with getting even with the rich. Greed, envy, malice and soaking the rich always play well with the masses.Such ugly emotions are gussied up and called "fairness" - but a pig with lipstick is still a pig.

Without or without tax increases, the Obama program, because it is almost completely disconnected from economic reality, cannot possibly work. Republicans will of course be blamed for the coming failures as long as that excuse seems to work. There are some for whom it will never cease to work. But eventually the great mass of the American people will be forced to the conclusion that Obama, i.e. sophomoric campus Leftism, is bad for the country. I think this may come sooner rather than later.

Leftist folly is only made possible and sustained by the great strengths and reserves of advanced civilization. The very accomplishments of civilization seem to suspend the laws of reality. They give Leftist children a kind of breathing space, a virtual playground on which they can enact all kinds of counter-factual, irrational nonsense without incurring obvious short term negative consequences. But this playground for Leftists and its breathing space is not infinite. There is a limit to which nature can be disregarded and her rules faulted by human hubris. Obama, whatever else he has or has not done, had just about managed to find that limit. When it is reached, the true education of the American electorate will begin.

If he can being it all down and use Alinsky tactics to center
blame on the Republicans they are on the way to the real goal of a one party system. We will all be Newark except there will be no where left to run.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) got into the April Fools spirit Tuesday, displaying his Winston Churchill (temporary) tattoo on Fox News Channel. After rolling up his sleeve and showing the hosts the tattoo, Cruz kindly suggested that they check the calendar for what day it was. (Tweet) And here´s the video, courtesy of the Washington Free Beacon: (Video) The gag tied together two recent pop culture phenomena involving Cruz: one being a poster featuring a Photoshopped version of a tatted-up Cruz, and the other being Cruz´s recent attempt at a Winston Churchill impression.

President Barack Obama is planning a Rose Garden appearance Tuesday as sign-ups under his health care law surpassed 7 million. A government official told The Associated Press that the 7 million mark had been crossed. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss developments by name before Obama´s announcement. The 7 million target was thought to be out of reach by most experts after computer glitches slowed sign-ups on deadline day Monday. A surge of consumer interest propelled sign-ups. Obama plans to speak at 4:15 p.m. The administration has not said how many of

XI’AN, China — It was a rare, almost intimate scene, between Michelle Obama and her mother, played out before the world. When a group of Chinese girls invited the first lady to skip rope at an event on the ancient city wall here, she kicked her heels off to slide on a pair of flats. Before an aide could swoop in and pick up her daughter’s shoes, Marian Robinson bent down to grab them. Then, the 76-year-old grandmother beamed as Obama jumped. Obama’s daughters, Sasha and Malia, stood nearby, shyly hanging back as their mother took center stage. Robinson clapped

SHIRLEY, N.Y. – A 17-year-old Long Island student has accomplished what few believe is possible. Kwasi Enin, of Shirley, has been accepted at all eight Ivy League schools to which he applied. The William Floyd High School senior began hearing from the schools March 27. He told Newsday he couldn´t believe it, "the yesses kept coming." Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Yale and the University of Pennsylvania all said yes. Kwasi scored 2,250 out of 2,400 on the SAT. That places him in the 99th percentile for all students taking the exam.

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan is set to release a spending plan Tuesday that Republican leaders say would balance the budget in 10 years. As the Washington Examiner´s Susan Ferrechio reported March 21, the plan is likely to build off his fiscal 2012 and 2013 proposals, with the addition of new reforms to the nation´s growing social welfare programs. In a 204-page report issued in March, Ryan said the hundreds of federal programs for the poor included overlaps and waste and has "actually created a poverty trap." The release sets up a Wednesday vote in the House on a budget

(Video) The American Action Network took aim today at President Obama’s record of dishonest healthcare promises in a web-based ad “Keep Your Doctor.” The video comes in the wake of President Obama’s WebMD interview where he plainly admitted Americans wouldn’t be able to keep their doctor after saying for years that they could. Like his infamous “keep your plan” promise, Obama pledged multiple times that Americans would not be required to change their doctor under the Affordable Care Act. The video also notes that on April 7th the Obama Administration is scheduled to finalize deep Medicare Advantage cuts

(Video) As Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) continues his obsessive rant against the Koch brothers, a new ad reveals that Harry and the Democrats have a “Koch” problem of their own: The Steyer brothers. So who are the Steyers? David Steyer is an environmentalist and former hedge fund manager with an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion. While Steyer (along with brother Jim) has used his wealth to promote an anti-oil, anti-coal, and climate-change agenda, critics (including some on the left) say he made much of his fortune by investing in ventures that are environmentally destructive and socially irresponsible.

The agreement would also include the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including citizens of Israel, and a partial freeze on construction in West Bank settlements. Secretary of State John Kerry and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel hammered out details of the emerging deal in meetings here that began Monday night and continued early on Tuesday.

In order to appeal to everyday, average Americans, both political parties like to trot out the attack that the other side is the party of the rich (or super-rich, just to make it stick more). Well, the Associated Press looked at the financial stats for every congressional district and concluded that most of the wealthiest districts in America are represented by Democrats. The single richest congressional district in the country is New York’s 12th Congressional District, which is currently represented by Democrat Carolyn Maloney. Behind that is California’s 33rd, represented by Democrat Henry Waxman. And House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi‘s

Monday´s open enrollment deadline for ObamaCare, which, with its subsidies and tax credits, represents the largest expansion of government, is a good time to assess the total scale of government in the US. Appreciating the full scope of the US government is difficult, because its activities are undertaken at the federal, state, and local levels. Adding all of this together, government in the US consumes more than $6 trillion a year. This makes the US government the world´s 3rd largest economy. The United States economy produces just over $16 trillion in total goods and services every year. China´s economic output

Obamacare, the plan purportedly created to provide health coverage for the uninsured, has enrolled just 1.7% of America´s 48.6 million uninsured. News of the disastrous numbers comes as nervous Democrats and President Barack Obama, ahead of the November midterm elections, did their best on Monday´s enrollment deadline to put a positive spin on the deeply unpopular Obamacare program. A National Labor Relations Board official has given the green light to Northwestern University football players to form a union. Drinking Earl Grey tea could help guard against heart disease, it has emerged, after a study found that bergamot extract--a key ingredient in the hot drink--is just as effective as statins at controlling cholesterol. Scientists believe bergamot, a fragrant Mediterranean citrus fruit which gives Earl Grey tea its distinctive flavour, can significantly lower cholesterol. They say it contains enzymes known as HMGF (hydroxy methyl glutaryl flavonones) which can attack proteins in the body known to cause heart disease. The study found bergamot could even be as effective as statins, used to control cholesterol but which can have side effects in
