Flu fear is not very timely. I thought that the CDC always maintained that flu season was Nov. through Feb.?

I got mandatory flu shots while in the military. I have refused to get them since, and have enjoyed improved fall/winter health. I account for this benefit by my avoidance of flu shots.

How do they expect to be taken seriously without a cute animal flu name for the season?

I refuse to get flu shots. You have an immune system for a reason...and it only gets stronger by actually having to work.

The usual CDC propaganda right on time every year. These flu vaccines are a $$$$$ bonanza dontchyaknow. Even my 93 year old neighbor refuses the flu shot. She says she is healthier this time of year than all her elderly pals that take it. She and I think alike in that we put the effort instead into a nutrient-dense diet, exercise and common sense efforts to strengthen the immune system.

As one entering day 16 of flu suffering, I now have a strong bias for the shots. It isn´t fun, and it isn´t trivial.

There is no friggin way I am getting this years flu shot... Not after reading Obozo´s Czars pop control goal to reduce the US population by 9 mil.; Watch the news... soon you will hear about Forced Flu Shots for those they can control...

#9, as an RN who runs many flu shot clinics for peds, adults and military, my statement has always been if a person once gets the honest to goodness respiratory influenza, it will make a believer out of them. During the 1918 influenza outbreak, there were doctors and nurses who came to work healthy in the morning, and by noon were dead. One of the flu viruses can wipe the bronchial tubes completely clean of cilia in a matter of a few hours. And for those who believe they are being injected with germs, the injectable flu vaccine virus is DEAD. The nasal spray is live, but weakened.
Several years ago, after receiving my flu shot, I got a call from my son, whose whole family, except for the newborn who had immunity from mom, had the flu. I flu up into the midst of them, and in-laws with flu, took care of all of them, and did not get the flu.

Sorry for 2nd post....just look at the increased statistics for whooping cough. Before the looney segment took hold, most people were vaccinating their kids with Tdap. After people got scared and quit vaccinating, the number of whooping cough cases has skyrocketed. I distrust government as much as the next person here on L.com, but one has to think, look at the facts, not just listen to the Black Helicopter crowd.

To the nurses point - everyone should look at facts, including nurses. Some people get sick from the flu shot, some people get very sick from the Tdap (one son did, one didn´t) and I think vaccines in general worked alot better years ago although I´m not sure why. My cousin got chicken pox soon after vaccination and I know a fully vaccinated kid that got whopping cough. The facts are varied and inconsistent and the science is murky because there´s too much money being made for honesty to get through. I believe in freedom, freedom to choose and if vaccines work at all like your flu shot did, then there´s no problem being around sick people if your vaccinated.

I used to get the flu shot every year....till they added H1N1 to it. They should separate the vaccines as so we can have a choice. Now we have to get both...or in my case, none.

Oh sure, shoot yourself up with aluminum, mercury, formeldehyde and for good measure maybe some meningitis. Who knows what else the goobermint puts in those shots. Are you of a certain age where you no longer have a life value? Maybe some extra little cyanide for you to meet the objectives of the Death Bill. No thanks. I no longer trust the goobermint for anything.

Back in the 90´s I was in my mid 30´s and healthy. Came down with the flu near Easter, in just hours I was in the hospital with pneumonia and on oxygen. Spent a week in the hospital and it took many MANY weeks to recover. And I was young and healthy. Since then I get the flu shot. I don´t EVER want to be that sick again..and now in my mid 50´s and dealing with a chronic illness, I´m not sure it would turn out so good at the end as it did 20 years ago. Flu shots are definitely worth it!
