Lindsay Lohan’s long list of problems is getting even longer. It’s been reported that on top of her legal woes, she has staggering financial issues too. According to TMZ, the IRS has seized all of Lohan’s money because she owes Uncle Sam $233,904 in unpaid federal taxes for year 2009 and 2010. This comes after news of Charlie Sheen cutting Lindsay a fat $100,000 check aimed at relieving the troubled star’s tax situation.
Comments: How does a Lindsey Lohan make two million this year? Doing what?
how about some compassion, guys? (and gals). yes, she is messed up, and has horrific money-grubbing, attention whores of parents to boot. Her every move is watched, scrutinized, and usually cruelly laughed over. She´s old before her time... She´s constantly struggling. She rarely looks truly happy. I pray for her. I pray she has an aunt, older, grounded friend... grandparent... whoever... as long as they´re grounded, lean more conservative, and preferably have some ranch or very private (normal) residence somewhere where this girl can finally relax, lay off the make up and slutty clothes, and just put on a pair of jeans and t shirt and be herself. Perform regular labor/chores, read, write, ride... learn how to feed her body/mind/soul in a positive way... and all the while (hopefully being surrounded by normal, compassionate, non-judgmental Christians. Teach her how to have a glass of wine with dinner w/o it turning into 5. Teach her and cultivate real, deep, safe, and lasting relationships. This would help with everything. That is what she needs: Normalcy, teaching/instruction about the basics of life and relationships, and compassion. And she needs someone to literally lead or take her there because as much as she does try ,she´s just too much of a mess right now to do it herself. I know this post is wordy, but man, it just breaks my heart to see her struggling all the time. I feel like she wants to get out of this cycle but doesn´t seem to know how. Lord, save this young woman. Amen.
What are you thinking, Mr President? Is this really the legacy you want for yourself: the chief executive who trampled rights, destroyed privacy, heightened secrecy, ruined trust, and worst of all, did not defend but instead detoured around so many of the fundamental principles on which this country is founded? And I voted for you. I´ll confess you were a second choice. I supported Hillary Clinton first. I said at the time that your rhetoric about change was empty and that I feared you would be another Jimmy Carter: aggressively ineffectual. Never did I imagine that you would instead become
OCHO RIOS, St Ann: ANGRY TEACHERS vehemently demanded of the Jamaica Teachers´ Association (JTA), on Monday in Ocho Rios, an explanation as to how their union executive sat back and allowed $52 million to be defrauded from the organisation over the course of the last financial year, ending April 2013. The teachers´ ire directed at the JTA executive, was the highpoint of the opening day of the 49th annual general meeting at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort in Ocho Rios, St Ann. The fraud was discovered after an external audit was carried out. Tempers flared as teachers threw question after
Alex Walden and her boyfriend, Ryan Tippetts, said they called the police to report her black Jetta stolen from the University Hill neighborhood in Boulder, Colo., after Walden found her cell phone playing Pandora music while lying on the ground, apparently chucked from the missing car. It only took 15 minutes for the Jetta to reappear Saturday morning – and with it, the alleged thief still in the driver’s seat, Walden said. As the couple crossed an intersection, she took a closer look at the car – same color, same license plate and same soccer ball lying in the back. “I asked
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — While making the pitch on his new college affordability plan for a second time, President Obama was interrupted by pro-Bradley Manning hecklers at Henninger High School in Syracuse, N.Y., Thursday evening. Two women holding a giant “Free Bradley Manning” sign yelled at the president in the middle of his speech. It was unclear what the women were saying, but they were escorted out of the gymnasium to applause from the crowd. When the women started shouting, the president said, “I hear you,” and tried to calm down the crowd. After the two women left, Obama called the hecklers “polite”
NEW YORK -- Winston escaped death to find a piglet´s paradise. The little piggy found wandering this summer along a bustling Queens boulevard is among hundreds of animals - including cows, sheep, goats and chickens - who apparently managed to flee in recent years from New York City´s growing number of urban slaughter markets. Escaping to the streets amid honking cars and busy pedestrians comes with a beautiful reward those lucky enough to survive: a trip to an animal sanctuary in the wide open spaces north of the city where they can live out their days without fear of becoming
The fourth season of Duck Dynasty premiered last week to great success. The show had 11.8 million viewers, a new record for a non-fiction cable series and 2.2 million more than the show’s previous high. The episode beat the finales of shows like HBO’s True Blood and NBC’s Crossing Lines. The success has been so widespread that some are calling on Willie Robertson, the show’s main star, to run for office—and local officials in the Louisiana GOP have been courting him. Robertson himself has said that he would consider it. Unfortunately it seems that many aren’t particularly interested in him as
I’ve already mentioned the Halabja chemical weapons attack once, but before this National Security Council statement goes down the memory hole, it’s worth reproducing in full: “Statement by NSC Spokesperson Caitlin Hayden on the 25th Anniversary of the Halabja Massacre” March 16, 2013 Today marks the 25th anniversary of the horrific massacre by Saddam Hussein’s regime of over 5,000 innocent civilians in a chemical weapons attack on the city of Halabja, in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. At least 10,000 people were blinded and maimed. This terrible crime was but one of many in Hussein’s Anfal Campaign, in which tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis
President Barack Obama flubbed the mayor of Buffalo´s name, calling him Brian Higgins instead of Byron Brown:(Snip for video)The Buffalo crowd quickly corrected Obama, who offered up this excuse: "This is what happens when you get to be 52 years old. When I was 51, everything was smooth." Brian Higgins represents New York´s 29th Congressional District.
This week, the State Department announced that, in "an important symbol of our enduring friendship with Benin," construction has begun on a new $178 million embassy complex in the small West African nation, a neighbor of Togo and Nigeria. As is often the case in the construction of new U.S. diplomatic facilities, the plans include a number of "sustainable" features including solar panels, rainwater harvesting, wastewater reuse, and LED lighting. The complex will cover 8.8 acres, and will include: a chancery/office building, a support annex, a residence for the U.S. Marine detachment, a warehouse, a utility building, a recreational facility, and
Brian Lewis, a Fox News Channel veteran executive considered the right-hand man to Roger Ailes, was working on his separation agreement Tuesday after having been fired and escorted from his office last month over what insiders are calling financial issues and other performance problems, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. "After an extensive internal investigation of Brian Lewis´ conduct by Fox News, it was determined that he should be terminated for cause, specifically for issues relating to financial irregularities, as well as for multiple, material and significant breaches of his employment contract," a company spokesperson said Tuesday. "He was terminated for
A former British Army soldier at the center of explosive claims that members of the British military murdered Princess Diana is a recently released convict, once questioned in the 2004 death of an Iraqi civilian. The former member of the elite special forces unit SAS was released from the Military Corrective Training Center in Colchester last month, after he was convicted of illegal possession of firearms. Known only as Soldier N in court and subsequent press reports, he was convicted of bringing back weapons to the U.K. from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and hiding them at his home. He
‘Till Duck Do Us Part”: That was the title of the most-talked-about television show in America last week. Was it a revamped version of Looney Tunes? An offering from Animal Planet? No. It was the season opener of America’s favorite TV family show, featuring the women of the extended Robertson clan organizing a formal wedding for the heads of the family, Phil and Miss Kay, who 49 years earlier had only been able to afford a justice of the peace. Not exactly the kind of plot TV executives would expect to draw a record audience. But that’s what happened last Wednesday
Three teenagers were charged Tuesday in the killing of a white college student in Duncan, Oklahoma, and part of the story is what didn´t happen. There was no saturation cable TV coverage, no press conference featuring Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, and no statement from the Oval Office. The death of Christopher Lane, while as troubling as that of Trayvon Martin, will not become a national touchstone of racial and cultural debate or reflection. But maybe it should. A 22-year-old Australian from Melbourne, Lane was attending East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, to pursue his dream of playing that American pastime,
Bradley Manning, the Army private sentenced to military prison for leaking classified documents, revealed he intends to live out the remainder of his life as a woman. “I am Chelsea Manning. I am female,” the Army private wrote in a statement read on TODAY Thursday. “Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition.” Manning, 25, was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Wednesday after having been found guilty of 20 charges ranging from espionage to theft for leaking
"Ayeee I knocked out 5 woods since Zimmerman court!" young James Edwards tweeted on July 15 in the wake of George Zimmerman´s acquittal for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Edwards´s tweets surfaced after he and two of his homies were charged with killing Australian baseball player Chris Lane in Duncan, Oklahoma, last Friday. For the record, "woods" is short for peckerwoods, a derogatory term for white people. If Edwards, who is black, knocked out five woods as claimed, he would hardly be unique. As Colin Flaherty chillingly documents in his frequently updated book, White Girl Bleed A Lot, the "knock-out
In Spokane, Washington, on Wednesday night, according to local reports, World War II veteran and Battle of Okinawa survivor Delbert Belton was beaten by two African American teenagers described as between the ages of 16 and 19. He was confronted in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, when the two suspects jumped him, beat him, and left him to die. More than 1,600 new employees hired by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources in the aftermath of Obamacare´s passage include just two described as ´consumer safety´ officers, but 86 tasked with ´criminal investigating´ – indicating that the agency is building an army of detectives to sleuth out violations of a law that many in Congress who supported it still find confusing. On the day President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010, HHS received authority from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to make as many as 1,814 new hires under an emergency ´Direct Hiring
During President Obama´s wide-ranging interview with CNN´s Chris Cuomo Friday, the president responded to a question about the "lack of action in Washington" with the claim that when it comes to shutting down the government to kill ObamaCare, his "Republican friends" tell him "privately" that they agree with him but are afraid of Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party: Nobody thinks [a shutdown´s] good for the middle class. So the question is ultimately, if you are putting the American people first, if you are prioritizing them, then this shouldn´t be that difficult. And I´ve made this argument to my Republican
Christopher Lane was gunned down in cold blood – shot in the back as he jogged alongside a road in Duncan, Okla. His alleged attackers were teenagers who told police they were bored and killed the college athlete for “the fun of it.” The 22-year-old was attending school at East Central University – an Australian native who played baseball. Good Samaritans saw the shooting and immediately rushed to offer aid. One person called 911. Another tried to administer CPR. But it was too late. The young athlete with a promising future lingered for several minutes – gasping for air. And then he
An 88-year-old veteran is dead after he was attacked Wednesday night in North Spokane. The victim, Delbert Belton, was a World War II veteran living in Spokane, according to his family. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power did not attend an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting Wednesday, Fox News reported. The meeting was scheduled to discuss an alleged chemical weapons attack on Wednesday. Power’s decision not to attend drew criticism due to her past statements on Syria. Power criticized the U.N. Security Council’s lack of action in Syria during her confirmation hearing. She also discussed the country in a Twitter town hall she hosted last week. A U.S. mission official told Fox News that Power was on a “pre-arranged trip” and
A commercial photography business owned by opponents of same-sex marriage violated New Mexico´s anti-discrimination law by refusing to take pictures of a gay couple´s commitment ceremony, the state´s highest court ruled unanimously Thursday. Elaine Huguenin, who owns Elane Photography with her husband and is the business´s principal photographer, refused to photograph the ceremony because it violated her religious beliefs. The court held that "a commercial photography business that offers its services to the public, thereby increasing its visibility to potential clients" is bound by the New Mexico Human Rights Act "and must serve same-sex couples on the same basis that
GARY | A female student was beaten when four adults attempted to rob a group of school children at the bus stop in Gary at 7 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
