The library thought they would demonstrate community support and be edgy at the same time. The ignorant staff thinks if it is from a Black artist, well who are we to question it. Where did the funding come from? The city school budget? I thought Newark was the home of the new Caliphate recuiting center.

Interesting subject, the exploitation and torture of slaves by Democrats, but the idea fails because the ´artist´ is incompetent on just about every level. From the framing of the subject, selection of key images to every square inch of the composition and paint, the artwork screams out the fact that it is an amateur effort. A five year old might get a sound out of a trumpet, but that doesn´t mean he can play a tune. Having a minimum standard for competence by the creator really isn´t censorship, it is merciful to the audience and ultimately a service to idiots who think they can pose as ´artists´ when they haven´t bothered to hone any skill whatsoever. Kara Walker is ´renowned,´ but who is kidding who here? Without the shock ´value,´ her work is pathetic.

How much did this "Art" cost? Who paid it? Who authorized the expenditure? What does this have to do with Reading? No wonder Libraries are going Broke...
