Pelosi: Give Obama Power
to Personally Lift Debt Limit
to Infinity

Cybercast News Service, by Terence P. Jeffrey

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 11/30/2012 6:23:18 PM

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Friday that Congress should hand over to President Barack Obama the power to unilateral increase the limit on the U.S. government´s debt. In effect, under the plan Pelosi is endorsing, the only limit on the national debt would be President Obama´s willingness to borrow money in the name of American taxpayers. At a Friday press conference, a reporter asked Pelosi if she agreed with a proposal made by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner that Congress give Obama the power to unilaterally increase the debt limit. "Yes," she said.

The reason Dem Senate has not offered a budget in nearly 4 years is the Republicans keep allowing the debt ceiling to increase, and then pass a continuing resolution which maintains spending at previous year´s level.

Gets the Dems off-the-hook on making decisions or choices.

Keps the pressure on the Republicans since they´re asking to do the right thing, but it´s not politically ideal, and the Dems know it.

This disgustingly ignorant woman should be immediately impeached for her flagrant contempt for the Constitution! Article I, Section 7 charges the House with the responsibility of originating bills "for raising revenue". The Executive, in this case the Lingering Malignancy Obama, has no role in the fisc except to approve or deny the legislation.
God give me strength!

Perhaps the Constitution doesn´t establish which part of government has authority to raise the debt ceiling, because the Founding Fathers figured nobody was dumb enough to consider carrying an ever-growing debt to be a sane option.

These tax-and-spend fanatics are complete idiots. Listening to their advice about budgetary matters is a little like issuing a semi-automatic handgun to someone with paranoid schizophrenia.

A new Republican poll shows Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) in a potentially tough spot for reelection, with more than half of respondents open to reelecting a new senator next year. The survey, from GOP firm Magellan Strategies, reveals 51 percent of respondents say it´s "time to give a new person a chance" in office. Thirty-nine percent agreed that Landrieu has performed her job well enough to "deserve to be reelected." Though those numbers are bad news for Landrieu, they´re not a clear indication half of Louisiana voters will vote to oust her.

MORVEN, Ga. — Small-town police departments across the country have been gobbling up tons of equipment discarded by a downsizing military — bicycles, bed sheets, bowling pins, French horns, dog collars, even a colonoscopy machine — regardless of whether the items are needed or will ever be used. In the tiny farming community of Morven, Ga., the police chief has grabbed three boats, scuba gear, rescue rafts and a couple of dozen life preservers. Undocumented immigrants with temporary legal status soon will be allowed to pay in-state tuition rates at all Ohio public colleges as long as they meet other residency requirements. Until now, most of the state’s public two- and four-year schools have charged those students out-of-state or international rates that can be as much as three times what Ohio students pay. Today, Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor John Carey sent a letter notifying the state’s college presidents about the change, after state Attorney General Mike DeWine determined that immigrant students now may qualify for in-state tuition.

Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. No matter how much you may hope for it, it seems unlikely that you´ll be using the phrase "Senator Sarah Palin" with any great regularity in 2015. A new poll indicates that the former Alaska governor is about as popular in the state as Barack Obama — which is to say, not very popular at all. But even more surprising, while the former vice presidential candidate has made Alaska a central part of her public image, the state´s residents split on the question of whether Palin is all that Alaskan.
