If GOP continues to ignore
health care, U.S. will end
up with single payer

Washington Examiner, by Philip Klein

One of the main consequences of President Obama’s reelection is that his national health care law will be implemented. Though there are various measures that Republicans can take to gum up the works in the coming years and though there will be a number of logistical hurdles facing the administration, the reality is that any future Republican proposals for reforming the health care system will have to wrestle with the existing Obamacare framework. Even if premiums spike, wait times at doctors’ offices swell, exchanges are a mess and some people lose coverage they like as a

When I start feeling a little better after this devastating election I read an article like this. Single payer has always been 0bama´s goal. He said so during a speech to the SEIU that universal healthcare was his goal and there would be a "transition process" to achieve that goal. How terribly unfortunate for us.

It´s always been about incrementalism with DemocRATS. Consider ´HillaryCare´ - that seems so long ago, but it really isn´t.

The GOP hasn´t ignored the issue. The press just refuses to cover their plans. Oh, of course the plans don´t involve the government so they must not be real.

This author is exactly right. I remember back during the 2 Bush terms, his constant pushing of the Healthcare accounts that could be set aside tax-free!....and that was it--that´s all Bush and Republicans ever had to offer as a solution when they had the reins. I would sit there and shake my head at the State of the Union addresses each year, thinking "they just don´t get it....how much frustration and anger there is out there about the healthcare/insurance mess..." We´re sure going to pay for their cluelessness now.

Perhaps we could change the definition of a doctor. I don´t need to see a licensed physician or doctor to get treatment. I only need a competent individual.

Just give me this tiny bit of freedom to decide who this is and I´ll be able to walk away from Obamacare. Maybe I can´t ignore the tax penalty, quite yet, but it would be a start.

Justice Roberts, in threading the needle last summer in order to uphold ObamaCare by declaring the payment of a penalty for not purchasing health insurance a "tax", which falls within the taxing power granted Congress ignores this constitutional prohibition: "Article I, Section. 9.
Clause 4: No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken."

This clause is the reason that the Sixteenth Amendment was necessary in order to collect an income tax. In essence, the Roberts "tax" is unconstitutional, and ObamaCare by extension is unconstitutional.

3) In 19 months, the screaming about the costs and service available in Obamacare will be deafening, particularly in the blue states; the programs still won´t be available in the red states that decided not to set up an exchange

If you believe in smaller government then GOP at the federal level should not believe it is their job to jump into healthcare. That belongs to the states. I am happy the GOP didn´t want to play nanny over my medical care. Do you want the government telling what to do or do you not? You cannot have it both ways. I want them out of my life including my doctors office.

Union organizers are showing up at Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections of an open-shop business that has been targeted by the country’s second-largest union. Professional Janitorial Service (PJS), the largest non-union janitorial company in Houston, and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) haven’t gotten along for seven years. The company is currently suing SEIU for $9 million, alleging that the union has repeatedly slandered it. But on three recent occasions, SEIU representatives accompanied federal safety inspectors to examine PJS cleaning sites, says Evelyn Meza, the human-resources manager for PJS. The inspections resulted in fines. Such an organized-labor presence on OSHA

On the four-year anniversary of Obamacare, the implication of the Gallup study is that Obama´s policies--not his race or personality--have been the impetus for the increasing level of racial polarization. The Gallup study found that in 2010, "nonwhites´ net party identification and leanings showed a 49-point Democratic advantage, and whites were 12 percentage points more Republican than Democratic."
