Message to the GOP:
Believe it or Not

American Thinker, by J.T. Hatter

Original Article

Bill Whittle has been making the rounds with the observation that the Republican Party doesn´t believe its own message, and this is one of the main reasons we lost the election. The idea is that Republicans make a show of being conservative, but don´t demonstrate a true commitment to conservative values or our nation´s founding principles. I think he´s right. Bill Whittle is a very smart guy. Lately, the Republicans have been doing everything they can to prove him right. The Republican leadership has long been shifting policies and positions to the left,

This article lays out the brutal truth about the Republican party. The list of the candidates and their reason they ran for office is interesting to say the very least.

I don´t think it´s just me, getting this sinking feeling that the GOP has now proven itself a lost cause... Going even more Democrat-lite in order to trick a few more fence-sitters, while promising to save and protect every Democrat/socialist scheme (Social Security, Medicare etc) in the books?

And if it is now, sadly, a lost cause, do we have time to build an alternative before 2016 and what would that alternative be? Just asking.

Traditional politics are out. Zippy won (again) with a detailed strategy, including:

Creating an oratory of lies, using his race and faux-amiable demeanor to woo people who rely on government handouts—Free Stuff--to function.

Appealing to venal progressives who hate and fear Republicans more than they value the future of their own country.

Buying union votes.

Concealing the terrorist murder of four Americans.

Stealing the election with traitorous levels of corruption that may be never fully known.

What do you expect, when the "movers and shakers" in the GOP are terrified of any movement or shaking at all, and are mostly corporate second-in-command "don´t rock the boat" types? They are "conservative" only in the sense that they don´t really want any change at all, particularly any change in their comfortable, insular world -- even a change for the better.

J.T. Hatter is mad. Mad Hatter. Get it? I knew you would. But, not crazy mad. Angry mad. And he details at length his reasons, and he does it with no holds barred, all the while taking no prisoners and refraining from overrunning his reasons with clichés. Is Hatter’s message Must Readable? Indeed!

While you’re there, be sure to take a gander at his pithy Republican President or Candidates’ Reasons for Running for Office chart.

Finally, and off-topic, I have a theory regarding “GOP” and it’s this: Only about 20% of Americans know what it means and only about 10% know what it stands for. I’m not even including those who think it’s just something that rhymes with pop and cop and mop and, okay, I’ll stop. Perhaps 33.3% for them.

Yeah, yeah, whatever.

So if the country truly yearns for a conservative leader with fire in his belly and a gift for communicating his or her passion...then why did no such person with experience in public office run for the 2012 nomination?

And if some think a case can be made that Perry, Gingrich or Bachmann fit that bill, then why did their candidacies fizzle?

This column is just sound and fury, signifying nothing. I understand the writer´s frustration, but short of secession - to which I am not opposed - we´ve got to work with what we have.

Pathetic compromise is all republicans can ever stand for. Democrats win because they are way ahead in their bread and circus plans. They control the language with political correctness, so they always frame the debates. Smokey "total tranformation" language makes imponderable the pro-active descriptive "coup." The celebrated Arab Spring movement, as explained to republicans by the 100% indoctrinated leftist press was "calculated anti-American islamization". Wasn´t it? "Fast and Furious" was felonious unaccountable gun running, "Benghazi" is the worst. Benghazi is porn. "Benghazi" is "murder as real time snuff film diversion." Isn´t it? "Social justice" is a 3-dimensional word for economic chaos. An off the shelf, virtually unseen video trailer about Islam, was used by the so-called leader of the free world to apologize for all Christian hubris, and to change the western paradigm on free speech and freedom of religion. It doesn´t take an artist, who sees the universe in a grain of sand, to see the president is no friend of Christians. Any candidate but Romney would have known. So it was inevitable that this establishment candidate would lose, because the democrats control even the limits on understanding national sanity or discussing treason. Without an American watchdog media, what republican can be counted on to sound a clear alarm?

Pretty much gave up on the GOP and became a registered "non-affiliated" when they were given the White House and both houses of Congress in 2000. What I witnessed was the morphing of supposed "conservatives" into closet liberals. The GOP had the opportunity and the power to pretty much instill rock hard fiscally conservative policies into law and they blew it.

If you do a quick Internet search for "Gwyneth Paltrow," you´ll find an onslaught of furious comments about the actress. Alhough the 41-year-old often stirs up controversy (thanks to everything from her touting her own wood-burning pizza oven to referring to her recent breakup as a "conscious uncoupling"), this latest reaction is due, in part, to a New York Post open letter to Paltrow regarding an interview she gave on the challenges of being a movie-star mom. On Wednesday, Paltrow, who announced her split from husband Chris Martin this week, told E! News, “I think it´s different when you have an

On Friday night O’Reilly stood by his words and called Lee both a “pinhead” and a “liar” in response. O’Reilly mocked Lee’s insinuation on MSNBC that on the right, “we all use phrases that denigrate African-Americans.” He went through a list of examples he believes bolsters his “race hustler” charge and said, “How about pinhead, congresswoman? Riyadh may seem a strange place to end a European tour, but Mr. Obama often does the unexpected. What he does not do when travelling, however, is deal directly with the really bad stuff. The White House took steps Friday toward issuing methane emissions regulations at hydraulic fracturing sites, a move that would slash greenhouse gas emissions in hopes of meeting President Obama´s climate goals but will invite backlash from industry. The news is a victory for environmental groups, which note that methane -- a short-lived, potent greenhouse gas that has a 20 times greater impact on climate change than carbon dioxide -- is the largest remaining unregulated greenhouse gas, accounting for 9 percent of U.S. emissions. The oil and gas industry, however, has warned that regulating methane emissions would stunt domestic energy production by raising
