Chevy Volt named
most satisfying car

Fox News, by Staff

Where’s the love? For the Chevrolet Volt it’s right at home. The plug-in hybrid topped the Consumer Reports annual customer satisfaction survey for the second straight year, with 92 percent of owners saying they would definitely buy it again, down from 93 percent in 2011. The magazine says the showing was the result of a growing trend of enthusiasm for fuel-efficient cars, and in the case of the Volt, “the combination of sporty handling and strong engine performance also goes a long way in building loyalty and generating excitement among owners."

Sure....who wouldn´t want a car that is heavily subsidized by us tax payers, especially with the give away lease deals they have?

Ah the deception of small numbers and statistics. If 10 people in an I Love Electric Cars club buy the Volt instead of either of the other two pretty much unavailable competitors models and 9 of them Love it with one only adoring it the Volt has a 90% rating beating out the other 2 electric models handily. A commanding market segment lead if ever there was one.

Compare that to 11,000,000 completely unrelated folks from across a very diverse nation rating cars that have literally dozens of competing models and buyers with several generations of personal experience and you get a fragmenbtedf response.

What is the conclusion? Those 9 Chevy Volt Owners get to set the market for the 11,000,000 other car owners? Probably not. Chevy Volt buyers are not buying a car, they´re buying an ideology, a personal statement of their betterness. Of xourse they will not admit that they also have a Big SUV for trips farther than the corner market.

Write this headline after the total electric car market breaks 5 million vehicles and more then 20 models are available and most owners have no second vehicle for backup and then I´ll pay attention. Until then keep your deception of small numbers spiel to yourselves.

For years Consumer Reports has become a politically-driven magazine, especially with respect to cars. I used to love to read their stuff, but starting about 15 years ago I noticed that they were looking at cars as if they were just alternatives to mass transit. Additionally, this is just another example of the deceitful way a survey can be manipulated by the Administration, who by the way, are "stakeholders" in seeing everything GM look good, most especially their flagship green car. It may or may not be a decent car, but I no longer trust Consumer Reports for verification of what´s really happening out there. Oh, the market isn´t buying many of them either; maybe that says something. Also wonder what the political makeup is of Volt owners.

Those who buy the rare or unusual do so for a reason. The buyers of more generic models will have other motives.

The prior differences in the buyers tends to make such surveys unhelpful.

Some men will by a $500 dress shirt, some a $50 shirt. Others will spend only $20. Those shirts have difference, but there are greater differences in the purchasers than in the shirts.

#6 nails it. There are so few Volt owners compared to other types that you really can´t compare.

When I worked at K-mart many moons ago, the Millinary department frequently won the award for most increase sales over the same time last year or month or week. But when its the smallest department with sales of 50 or 60 bux, even a $10 increase, which is almost nothing, gave them a big percentage jump.

#9, you are completely right.

I´ll add that most car magazines also have an anti-US car bias. I can give dozens of proof points. In almost every comparison test I can recall, the US car will typically lose, even if just by a few points. Statistically impossible. But there it is. I used to subscribe and read at least 7 auto magazines cover to cover, now I rarely pick them up. I know more than the average guy and I can go drive something myself and figure out if I like it.

You don´t read what a failure the Leaf is, you have to find that out from other sources. There are no articles speculating what sales of these cars will be like with no subsidy. You can bring out a totally new Corvette or Viper, and sure, you´ll get a little press. Bring out a new Acura NSX and the press will never stop.

Sad, we used to have such great magazines.

Those two dozen owners are pleased and loyal. But that´s the way a liberal is. They would put themselves thru any misery and expense rather than admit that government liberal policies were a boondoggle and wasteful. Just look at every other liberal policy and the failures they represent.

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. Some of these methane emissions come from

U.S. President Barack Obama and Pope Francis met Thursday for the first time at Vatican City, offering a chance for a reset of sorts between the administration and Catholic leadership following years of strained relations. The two world leaders greeted each other with a smile and a handshake, and posed for pictures before sitting down across a table from each other. The goal of the meeting: Focus on areas where two of the world´s most influential men agree and gently tread ground where they differ. The President and the Pontiff will, as the White House said in a statement, focus on "shared commitment

When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor. If you look at the pictures from Francis’ meeting with President Obama on Thursday, though, the smile is there only some of the time.

More than six million Americans have now signed up for private insurance under the Affordable Care Act, according to the White House, with just four days to go until the end of its first open enrollment period. While traveling in Italy on Thursday, President Obama shared the news in a conference call with thousands of health-care navigators and volunteers helping enroll people on state and federal marketplaces. As the volume of consumers seeking health plans has surged -- there were over 1.5 million visits to HealthCare.gov Wednesday and more than 430,000 calls to the marketplaces´ call centers -- Obama urged those on

These Republicans are applying conservative principles to 21st-century challenges, focused on middle-class concerns like lowering costs and improving access to college, modernizing health care and reforming the tax code. They aim to broaden prosperity´s reach through markets and merit, not government and corporate cronyism. She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself. Newby said that’s not all. She also expressed her hatred of Christians in a tweet calling conservative Christians "******bags," claiming they are "really trying" her patience.
